- We've been living full-time on our bluewater sailboat in Pago Pago Harbor, American Samoa, for 4 months now!!
Sometimes its seems like just last week that we moved on and other times it seems crazy to think that we ever didn't live here. So, what have we been doing all this time and how are we enjoying living aboard?
See our daily, weekly, and monthly boat chores, as well as the bigger projects we've been working on.
We're grateful for all the interest that you all show in our new, alternative lifestyle and will keep you updated, especially when we take her out sailing for the first time.

I'm very interested in knowing how the children like (or not...) living on the boat.
Yes, I was just thinking our next boat vid should be from the kids’ perspective.
Well done. I like how your kids are assigned chores eg to wipe off the due, cleaning, checking stuff, etc in the boat. They will grow up being more responsible and productive kids in what they do. Wish your family all the best!
Thanks. We really hope so 🤞
Love all the video you guys are showing from different places at the island. Also, we purchased 2 copies of your new tour guide book on Amazon and they are very well written and informative, thank you and god bless both you and the kids
Sail on sail on sailor! Very interesting and good hard work to keep the ship functional. Yes corrosion control is the number one issue with ships. The Abled Body Seamen on board the ships I was on, one of their biggest functions on ship was chipping and painting. They would use needle air guns to chip away the rust, throw primer on the bare metal before it oxidized and later go over with epoxy paint. And this lasted maybe a few weeks before brown rust would begin to show up again. Never ending. Chip and paint all day. And yes. I had to do that too as a military contractor on the Navy boats that was on the ships on the deck. So I too know how to chip and paint. I see you have a wooden deck. I don't know much about it but I suspect a good sand job and good layer of deck finish, varnish and then some caulking would go a long way. Just do sections at a time.
And every other year our ships went in the shipyard for engine overhaul and xray the haul for cracks. Meanwhile our military equipment went in for overhaul and maintenance at our port facility in Jacksonville, Florida. A USMC base at Blount Island Command. Your tax dollars at work. Very good video and keep up that good elbow grease on deck.
Thanks! Yeah, I’m sure there are as many things that were not thinking of, as the things that we are, but we’re trying to at least stay on top of the most important 🤞
@@AmSamFam you guys are doing great! Very good experience and getting the fullest out of life in the beautiful tropics.
Wow I haven’t seen you guys in a while your boat looks absolutely great, I am happy to see you guys are doing well keep up the hard work and the awesome video God bless your family looking forward to your next video
Hey dudes great video so to your mildew problem you need one or two marine dehumidifiers. here on the mainland this would run you about $60 us. they're small and super easy to install and will help tackle your moisture problems.
Talofa you 2,thanks for the video, my sister introduced me to your site, and very happy that I get to see my homeland..take care..
I’m a new follower and I just love all your Vlogs🥰 I miss home so much😔and truly thankful to be able to see home through your videos🥰 Stay safe and blessed and please keep making more videos🙏
I would love to see your kitchen and how you plan cooking for a family of 5 considering space and especially the need for water conservation.
I recognize that Siapo on your wall. It looks like my brother's artwork. That's his style! :) Is it an NFK piece? Nicholas F. King?
Yes! Good eye ❤️ We won it in a raffle. It’s the only piece of artwork that made to cut to be displayed on the boat. We love it ❤️❤️
Shoutout and keep safe
Thanks! Same to you.
Nice to hear from you again. Regarding getting used to moving around each other. Your description made me think of a sketch from the tv show Frazier, where they dance around each other in the small apartment kitchen. How are the kids "doing" in the boat?
Wow I miss Samoa so bad. Thanks for sharing your life with us.
It’s a beautiful place to live ❤️

Glad you all are doing well! I thought you all moved back to the mainland!
Nope 😊
The improvements have been awesome. Learning from trial and error, tackling uncertainties have always been the best way get it done. Continue to drive on, love the determination. Be well, be safe, see you next vid. Soifua
So true!
Always thankful for your channel. Good vibes and Great content.
Thanks 🤙
Haven't seen any recent posting on your channel. Are you still in American Samoa or have you moved?
Don't know your wiring skills but after a splice, we use plastic tubing over the crimp job and heat it up with a heat gun to cover up exposed wiring and provides good water proofing. You can also use a lighter to do this in a pinch. Crimping, splicing wires skills can be an art form. If anything just wrap good with electrical tape. I use this red elastic tape that is not real sticky but it holds together good then I lace it with a thread. (Aviation wiring stuff)
Nate’s getting really good with the splicing, crimping, tubing process 😄 I (Melinda) haven’t even tried yet 😊
I like boats. (I especially like other people's boats.) Ya'll are brave adventurers for sure!
The painting behind you looks beautiful. A turtle in a modern tapa motif?
A lovely episode, so glad to hear your family is well and enjoying your adventure!
Haha Until now we’ve only ever experienced other people’s boats 😂
Isn’t that painting great? We won it in a raffle a couple years ago. Best $20 we’ve ever spent!
Awesome guys love it and beautiful island 🏝😀GB.
American Samoa is a special place ❤️🇦🇸
If you guys need any help with electrical stuff my uncle is there he can help. Lol
Very cool, thanks! We might come across something one of these days that we need to call an expert to help 😄
You guys are amazing... Love your beautiful family
Thanks 😊❤️
As a Tempe Arizona resident, Hadley’s Sun Devils t-shirt caught my eye of course. Is that just a random acquisition, or is there a more interesting story there?
It’s actually just a thrift store buy, but it caught Hadley’s eye because her best friend was living in AZ at the time ❤️
Heads up ask Jackery to sponsor your videos and get free stuff from them. I would ask them for there 2000 model even the smaller ones are great.
Good to know. We’ll have to check them out!
@@AmSamFam That way you have a portable source of energy if you need to work more on the boat.
Heyyyyy!!! Fam
Hey 👋
Do y’all ever go to Samoa Samoa or Hawaii?
Will you be renaming the boat?
Has Joe or John invited y'all on 93?
