  • Too much facial fat loss can significantly age our faces, so it’s important to take caution when selecting anti-aging treatments. Some providers say Radio Frequency is a miracle skin tightening treatment- BUT the million dollar questions is… does Radio Frequency cause facial fat loss? This is a question I’m asked consistently, so in today’s video, I’m going to teach you everything you need to know about Radio Frequency for anti-aging - including whether or not radio frequency “melts” facial fat.

Super important to keep the RF at the right temp! An inexperienced technician can melt fat if it goes 42 degrees Celsius or over!! I tell the new girls all the time it’s the first thing I teach them about RF especially in the face! Love listening to you educate!

I got thermage at LaserAway in Tustin. Machine had some sort of malfunction and operator was inexperienced. I have lost extensive amounts of facial fat and it’s only been 3.5 months post procedure. No collagen growth whatsoever. I am mortified at the results. Mortified. I look 6-10 years older than I did 3 months ago. Very unfortunate as I had very high hopes going in. I’ve filed a complaint with the BBB and will be filing with the board. Be careful where you go and who you trust.

I am so happy that I found your channel! Your vids are very informative and I truly appreciate the time and effort you put into them. I was going to schedule a thermage session with Laser away NYC but during the virtual consultation, the practitioner mentioned that the procedure can be very painful but not to worry, they will numb me and it will be manageable. I immediately knew I wouldn’t go with them,I’ll keep looking for a doctor. I am so educated and I know the questions to ask,all thanks to you! I only wish you were closer,I’d pay any amount for you to do my Thermage😭

I tried the Pico under the eyes for the fine lines and they got worse. My under eyes got super puffy which usually are hollow. The skin under the eyes detached with the swelling. I went to one treatment and never returned again. I know another person who got the Morpheus for jowls and double chin and paid thousands of dollars and didn't see a bit of results! It is what you say about some treatments don't work or the person who is dong the treatment does not have the proper training to do it. I love all the information you are bringing to us! Very useful and I trust your expertise. Sending love! 💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕

Hi Dr. Stefani! 😊❤ Thank you for another, great video with all the information I was looking for! I so much appreciate your content and your detailed explanation of procedures and different situations. I had Scarlet radio frequency, micro needling done two times -the first time was all over the second time was just a lower face and neck with an extra deeper penetration in the vectors near my jawline. I am not really noticing that there is any fat loss, however, I’m also not convinced that it really did anything substantial to tighten. 🤷‍♀️ I think I will put my money towards Lasers in the future! Thank you so much again!😊❤

Morpheus8 or Opus, adding growth factor or exosomes to it in addition to prp to make sure you have collagen build up to get the skin tighter, but also more hydrated and rejuvenated.
    Thoughts?
I am over 60 and very good skin!! Don’t want to mess that up. Just rejuvenate it.

  • @dammar117
    @dammar117 Před 8 měsíci

Yes, it does! I was doing great taking care of myself, and then I decided to incorporate an at-home RF device to prevent jowls. So, I only used it in the lower face. After four months, I noticed to my dismay that I was actually developing laxity in that area! I stopped right away, but three years later, I haven't been able to reverse the damage, only halt it. In fact, later that same year, I made the problem worse when I got dental surgery, because I had to stretch my jaw to the max for six hours. Yes, I noticed two months after the surgery that the laxity was suddenly much worse. That same area that was already compromised by the RF. A double whammy I sorely regret.

Love to hear Dr Kappel's response to this as I've always heard the home RF devices don't get anywhere near hot enough to cause fat loss. I had Virtue RF MN x2 around my chin/upper lip and submental with no unwanted fat loss (provider is PhD Nurse anesthetist and has rigorously trained on this device) I had this feathered in w/ cool peel and have since had PRF and exosomes to that same troublesome area. Results are slow as new collagen comes in but it has made a big difference in under a year.

"Thermage and radio frequency devices should never be painful. When they’re painful, you’re in fat melting, volume loss, danger zones."
Dr Kappel - shouldn't there be SOME degree of pain or discomfort? Last year I had 3 treatments of Genius RF microneedling followed by LaseMD Ultra fractional laser, once per month for 3 months. I wasn't sold a package and they didn't recommend or pressure me to have the series. It was my decision because I thought that would produce the best results for collagen stimulation. They used a numbing cream on my face each time, and it was still a little painful. Bearable but I felt it. They did encourage me to give them feedback during the procedures so they could adjust the settings as needed. Should I not have had the numbing cream? Thank you! #askthedoc

Especially with the money they offer us to have paid partnerships. I won’t babe the company but a couple of year ago a rep offered me a free device plus $150k in exchange for 5 patient reviews a week for one year. That’s why when patients tell me they see all these positive reviews it doesn’t mean anything to me anymore.

In my opinion Thermage is not worth the money at least for me I only saw minimal results that only lasted a few months and it was not cheap. I had it done when I was 51 and was not impressed with results you also have to be very careful of fat loss with any RF treatments

I had Ultherapy..my results were okay but i feel like i lost abit of facial fat. In my opinion..i don't believe the cosmetic surgeons are recommending surgeries because of the money ..i spoke to a few surgeons and they dont believe the RF treatments and Ultherapy just don't do anything. If your older i believe the surgical route is best. bbl skin laser and Vbeam seems okay .. i read so many stories on how these non surgical treatments have destroy their face .

She is talking about the so called "bad collagen" claims, made by surgeons. They claim that energy based devices, sculptra(and other biostimulators) create bad collagen and makes future surgery hard.
She is not against surgery and says that she plans on getting a face lift sometime in the future.

I think saying 90% of the time patients are unhappy with results from RF microneedling is a HUGE reach. I've seen amazing results from patients who have gotten RF micro. To each their own, but no need to come up with a ridiculous number to explain your distaste in RF micro.

I appreciate your videos however they’re way too long and way too many details done we it’s just too much details and we’re never going to remember because you studied for 10 years to get here so please save yourself time and our time, I would like to continue watching your videos but it’s too much academia here. I am sorry I am not in medical school

I teach you guys just as I do when I teach the derm residents and medical students. I’f you’re not ready for that then you probably shouldn’t subscribe or watch. However if you’re ready to take your understanding of aesthetics to the next level then stick with it and you’ll be a more informed consumer in a world that is becoming increasingly more corrupted to protect yourself.

In all respect, I’m guessing you aren’t very familiar with skincare videos from doctors. She’s right on time. She’s Goldilocks… she gets it just right.

Completely disagree! I like details and data. It can never be too much. This is why I follow Dr. Kappel. If you feel something is too long you can just forward through the topic or to the end and move on.
