@11:26 I don't know if I have ever agreed more with Nick Wright on ANYTHING than right there. This is my biggest issue across all of team sports. Load Management? All Star Weekend stinks? Too much player movement? The regular season has NEVER meant less to these players and all of those issues exist for that exact reason. The media has been pushing the "rings are all that matter" narrative for years and too many people are taking that mess to heart.
But why can't players do both stop this weak mindset the only thing that's different is these guys make way more money so they don't necessarily care to play their hardest until it's a contract season u don't realize most these mid players best seasons are conveniently connected to contract renewals... then guys worst years r a year or 2 after they get paid

Nick’s all star take couldn’t be more dead on. The media really has made it out to seem like if you don’t win the finals, or if you don’t win the Super Bowl, you had an awful season. The media really has gotten to a point of acting like any measure of regular season success deserves 0 acknowledgement.
Nah he’s wrong. No one was more obsessed with winning than Jordan. But that didn’t stop him from playing his hardest in practices or all star games. He gave it his all no matter what the setting.

He has ‘t played a game with the Suns yet and you have media guys saying this year will be a failure if the Suns don’t win the championship. Nick’s take on the media’s obsession with championships is refreshingly accurate. Attitude reflects leadership. If leadership and media want championships, then why not protect your body at all costs in order to be healthy for the Finals.

Nick is so right! The media has caused players to care about nothing but the championship. The media ruins the actual journey to the chip. They don't reward and honor conference titles, scoring titles, getting past 1st round, making the finals, etc.
Thought for years I was the only one who felt that way. In the 90s it’s was about Ur game ur career that year. Then when sports media blew up it became don’t end up like Barkley or Ewing all time greats with no ring. They made the story all about how your legacy ends when guys where just in the beginning of there career. So some said f it only rings matter. Either I get a ring or I get paid.

LeBron is one of the only people who isn't taken at face value when he says he's injured, just because he plays through it and looks good most of the time. Even though he has been almost injury free all his career till he became older and he lost a lot then as well, could have easily used the injury as an excuse

Crazy idea for ASG may never happen, but, how about a 2 v 2 tournament? First couple of game is first to 11 and then the finals is first to 21. I’m sure it would be a lot more entertaining and injuries would be less of a concern and I think players would want to show out more. I know it’ll never happen but it would be fun to see
