I dunno... I'm not even a big Luka guy but he beat a number 1 seed while hobbled.
He's playing way harder on defence
He makes his teammates better - PJ looks like a different guy, lively looks awesome.
Hes been super impressive
I’ve criticized Luka often for various things but the disrespect lately has been really insane
This is something that has impressed me a lot, the way PJ, Gafford and DLive look isn't just because they are great players, they are and have been improving, but it is also that they often receive great opportunities. Gafford couldn't miss a bucket and almost had the best record ever in the NBA and many of those situations were made through fantastic passes by Luka, together with the pull that LuKai have on the other players.
Seeing Luka and Kyrie step up on defense has been fantastic, both are fantastic players on the offense and now are respectable players on defense. I hope they can keep it up!
He has the James harden affect. I don't think they are the same player like a lot of people say but I do think he has a similar affect on big men. Harden was making capela look like an all star just like Luka has done with Lively and Gafford.
I don’t know how you can watch that series and say he was better defensively, he’s an all time great, but he’s a cone defensively, and it wasn’t even his best series in general, he’s GREAT but I don’t know if this is the time to be saying it…. Yet.
The question isn’t whether or not he’s been impressive, it’s whether this performance enhances your view of Luka. Maybe I’ve just already held him in higher esteem than others, but Luka is basically doing exactly what I expected him to do
Ordinarily I agree with Broussard. It's his show after all. But expecting Luka to win a championship to change your mind is ridiculous. That's a Skip Bayless analysis.
Saying it's Broussard's show is some Skip-level stupidity as well. Ironic 😂
Agree it’s laughable
We all hate Nick sometimes but it's his show, you know it, I know it. Everybody knows it
The truth is, Broussard is right. We won't see Luka any different if he doesn't win this year. He'll still be seen as a top 3/4 player, a great playoff performer, and still on a legendary pace. If he wins this year, he'll reach another tier, now joining the other Superstars who have won. There's little more that Luka do to surpass how we already see him. I personally think he's the best player in the league who hasn't won yet.
You don’t think that the legacies of some all-time greats drastically change if they had won a chip? The goal of sports is to win. It’s literally that simple.
luka has already a better resume than dame lillard. and isn't dame on the top 75 list?

But you can not create heroic narratives about the whole roster. Idiotic takes - they know, we know, but we are all playing the game by listening to them. But this take was with 0% logic, they are not running 100 meters on the track to compare them 1:1.
Luka is gonna have to get the respect he deserves at some point. Glad to see some media members are actually starting to talk about it
Luka was interesting for the few years when he played for a team that cannot contend. This is his 6th year, and it's about time he gets a team to contend. So, we can move forward in the discussion about is Luka hogging the ball too much, or can he lead a team to championship and deserve respect. He can't contend this season, so he's uninteresting.

Does Bru not realize the east had been hella soft for the last 10 years?
The east isn't soft, the west just has better teams
Not exactly Boston, Philly, Bucks, Miami Toronto when Kawhi was there.
East has been soft for way over 10 years lmao. They've been weaker for like the last 25 years. Besides Boston the "big" basketball markets in the east have terrible ownership, bringing the whole conference down because you don't even need a good team to get into the playoffs.
@@TonyMontana-tp4mn That's what I mean by soft. The west is stacked. The east had 4 good teams max this year.
@bluv5185 In the last 25 years the west has won an NBA title 17 times to the east's 8 times. They've been the easier conference for a LONG time. As for this year the only good teams in the east were The Celtics, Knicks, Pacers and 76ers IMO. The Bucks were a massive disappointment after grabbing Dame.
Let’s emphasize that Luka has now taken 2 entirely different teams to the WCFs. Only Green and Luka played on the previous Mavs team which btw was only 2 years ago
Watching Brou, the seasoned vet and Nick, the studious prodigy go at it is incredible. I hope this cast has an NBA and TNT level run. This is feeding families.

tatum has had the privilege of being on either a great team or a straight up super team literally every year of his career, you trade him and luka's circumstances, and luka has 2 rings already
Name one MVP Tatum has played with? Name any superstars he has played with?
I call him Mr perfect situation
A superteam needs at least two superstars no? The Celtics have never had that, heck some people still argue Tatum isn't even one
These are all hypotheticals though. We’ve seen plenty of super talented teams fail to win it, there’s no guaranteeing Luka wins it in Boston. Also what superstar has Tatum played with, you gotta have at least two to be a superteam.
@@zuhayrakhanwtf being mvp gotta do with it 😂 he playing with 2 all nba players holiday & brown. Not too mention former all star unicorn. Stop it he got the best teammates in the league
Luka has got to at least make the Finals for him to take that next leap. Now, if they lose to the Celtics (who they would likely play), particularly if KP is back, there is no shame in that, the Celtics are a historically great team (I don't understand Brou and Nick's skepticism around the Celtics). But I don't think losing to the Wolves would impact how Luka is seen, he'd still be seen as one of the best players in the league.
Dont expect kp
Its because all those years with Miami
Boston always has the better and find a way to lose
Luca is the same age as them ok. But they have jrue holiday, kristaps, a better bench, and an all time point diff. That’s insane analysis

Luka has more points, more assist, more rebounds, is arguably even the better defender. So how is Tatum better than Luka again?

@@marcosalexandre4044 lmao yeah I’d rather have Luka and he has gotten better on D but Tatum is a much better defender.
Leastern Conference
Been waiting for this all day!
Let’s Go WOLVES!!!!!
How people still rate Book over Luka is beyond me
Fortunately, very few dare doing it anymore as of today.
Comparing the teams Luka has had as opposed to Tatum. Tatum has had arguably the best team if not top 3 team in terms of talent for the past seems like 7 years. Tatum has been underachieving consistently while Luka has been overachieving.
Tatum has been playing for contending teams, but it is rare that #1 options win rings in their early 20's. Ant wins one this season, but he's been extremely lucky with the team that drafted him. And Ant-Man isn't the true leader of his team, or the closer.
People forget that JT and JB were drafted to a team that made the ECF with Isaiah Thomas at PG.
You had 2/10 of the top young players in the league on cheap contracts with a deep roster for 5-6years with 1 finals appearance.
This is the point.
@@penkima4923 I like Tatum but the reason great early 20’s players don’t win is because they were drafted to bad teams and it takes those years to develop a championship roster. Tatum was blessed to be drafted to a team that had championship aspirations and shortly became top 3 in chances to win the finals due to their championship rosters. Celtics typically don’t lose because their team didn’t play up to par, the Celtics typically lose because their two best players come up short.
Every Boston team before 2022 overachieved and it's a lie to say otherwise. Never had a healthy Hayward, had a healthy but toxic kyrie for one season out of the two he was there, never had a healthy kemba, the 2020-21 team was god awful and should never be mentioned as good, the 2021-22 made a historical turn around mid season and beat the defending champ bucks and #1 heat, only to lose to the dynasty, definitely overachieving. 2022-23 team loses in 7 to the heat, that was the only team expected to win it all and underachieve.
it's really sad but true at the same time what JKidd said "we used to see Luka being great and forget to appreciate it" (or something similar along the lines)
The Boston disrespect is crazy here.
Idk I kinda get what Brou is saying. I already think of Luka as a top 5 guy in the league. Really the only place for him to go from here is to become the best player in the world and for that to happen he needs to win a chip

I agree with Brou. Dallas should be the favorites to win the title. Luka is the best player left and he has the best #2 in Kyrie. Plus very good supporting pieces and a great defense. There's no excuse for Luka not to get his first ring this year.
Luka helping Mavs beat Wolves in the conference finals would be sufficient enough to prove he is the dawg and transcendent player.
If he can help the Mavs win the chip, then he is already a hall of famer.

Glad to see the Celtics disrespect is at an all time high. Thinking Tatum isn’t nearly as good as Luka is just wrong. Also saying “Boston can’t lose this year” then say it would be embarrassing if you lost to Boston is just haterade at full strength. Makes ZERO sense. Sooo you pick these west teams over Boston, but in the same breath you think it would be a travesty if Boston lost?? Make it make sense my goodness.
Luka is two full tiers above Tatum
@@RyGuyGinger 🤡
Luka is a thousand times better than Tatum!
Honestly, Tatum is elite, but he’s too hot/cold. He’s missing something in his game. Just disappears for long stretches even when Celts are in tight games
I agree with the frustrations on how Boston/Tatum are discussed. Makes no sense.
As for Luka vs Tatum: Look, Luka has had the highest usage rate in the NBA by a mile for several years, and Tatum plays on a team that has no real hierarchy. Luka is clearly the more skilled offensive player, and the numbers he puts up are mind blowing. Tatum is a far more impactful defender (elite perimeter defense, and can guard bigger players, if yall didn’t know). Luka is better, but Tatum has a chance to surpass him and everyone else. Luka has a chance to surpass everyone. To me it comes down to winning, so let’s see who out of this field wins the chip.

But why can't he give players like Brock Purdy in the NFL the same benefit of the doubt? You have way more control of your team's success in basketball, yet he acts like Purdy losing to the Chiefs *IS* an indictment on him!
Luka losing to the Nuggets wouldn't be an indictment, Luka losing to the team that beat the Nuggets wouldn't be an indictment, but Purdy losing to Mahomes (someone he doesn't even share the field with) means he's not that good.
Nick never said Purdy losing to Mahomes means he’s not good. He’s just stuck in his ways due to the 49ers surrounding talent and previous success with a mediocre QB.
I think the only way Purdy will convince the public that he’s more than just a beneficiary of an amazing situation is consistency and him still being great after he gets paid big money and talent leaves.

Luka the Don 💯
That Brou take is kinda wild. Idk how you wouldn't objectively say the Celtics have a better team than the Mavs, and Kyrie has been very inconsistent scoring-wise in the playoffs. You can't just say "you have Kyrie" as if it's a given that that will be the utmost difference maker in a series against the Celtics. It MIGHT be, but it's not definitive. Meanwhile, The Celtics have multiple other ancillary pieces who could explode and win them games besides Jaylen Brown and Tatum.
If you switch out Luka and Tatum with exact same teams Luka probably has 2/3 rings right now. And Tatum might not even have a conf finals appearance. Unfortunately as good as Luka is he will likely lose to wolves cuz they’re the bigger better team.
If you switch them out the rest of the Celtics will fail to produce due to standing around watching Luka try do do everything and we'll STILL end up talking about how Luka needs help. He had a healthier Porzingis and a younger Brunson, for crying out loud, and still people said he had nobody, and now those guys are balling in other teams.
Shows me you haven’t watched the Celtics lmao. The Celtics have only just become legit title favorites with Tatum as the best player. The year they made the finals no one thought they would ever make that run and Tatum led them. Mind you Tatum has gone toe to toe with Giannis, Kd, Embiid, and Butler. And also went 7 games with Lebron playing the best basketball of his career in 2018.
@jehushaphat You're using a bad faith argument. KP was hurt half the time and is hurt now, btw. Brunson has only shined, having a usage rate equal to Luka. KP isn't even playing and his team still coasted to the ECF. Luka making it through a harder conference as a number 1 option is far more impressive.

People have to reach sooo hard to not show him the love/respect he deserves. It's coming to a point where you can judge someone basketball intelligence based on what they say about Luka. You either know basketball or dont..
"Luke is YOUNGER than SGA!" Bro, sure, by 5 months. SGA outplayed him in this series too, but no one will say that because the team shot 25% from 3 and let him down.
Luka was clearly hurt, you buffoon
We can do this for anyone
Change Luka's freethrows with SGA's and then tell me if he still outplayed him
@@hunterXhamsterSGA barely shot any free throws Games 3 - 6
@@Jaywrites23which is why they lost.
0:01 Luka Doncic is surpassing LeBron James. LeBron James is the BIGGEST NBA Western Conference Failure in NBA History - LeBron James: 2019 -> FAILED to make the NBA Playoffs, 2020 -> Asterisk BUBBLE Consolation Prize, 2021 -> LOST in the 1st Round, 2022 FAILED to make even the NBA PLAY-IN Tournament👀😅, 2023 SWEPT 4-0 in the Western Conference Finals, and 2024 Gentlemen’s SWEEP 4-1 in the 1st Round. Now we see why LeBron James went to 8 straight NBA Finals. Michael Jordan locked the GOAT Position at #1. Now ranking Kareem, Magic, Kobe, and Bird ahead of LeBron James sounds very logical. And yes, the basketball world is starting to rank Tim Duncan over LeBron James as well.
Your tripping
Lebron past his prime won finals mvp. Luka is yet to win mvp or reach the finals. Imagine if luka loses to ant, who's only 22.
Skip, that u?
that asterisk bubble nonsense is dumb. the rest of the league had that same bonus.
Dallas giving off vibes bro
NBA is going to give us a Dallas vs Boston Finals watch. Kyrie getting the last laugh against r@$!$ Boston, and im here for it all.
LOL! Don't censor yourself and let's compare notes between Dallas and Boston when it comes to racism…
@vitreo1363 lol ya I know what's coming so I pivot accordingly. And what a horrible thing to do to compare racism 😅 I'm guessing you're from Boston.
@@APTTMH_3 Yeah, I'm sure you're one of those republicans who says it's better to not talk about racism… unless it's for a narrative.
@@vitreo1363 😅 you were better off not replying after 2 weeks. You tried to compare racism
Nick is 💯 here
Luka is playing with a sprained knee, a nagging other knee and a nagging ankle. If he were healthy you would have witnessed another tremendous offensive postseason from him. And yet he’s still leading his team to playoff success by playing great defense, being the best playmaker in this playoffs, and hitting timely shots down the stretch.
Y’all just hate on him because you doubted him from the start so you want to keep doubling down
Thats crazy that Brou is gonna hold Luka more accountable for losing to Edwards than the self proclaimed greatest offensive player ever and best player in the league
If Luka plays in the East, he'd be in ECF every year.
Tatum done all of that plus more (the list of post season success Nick listed for Luka) but god forbid i state a fact… incoming haters
"AIGHT" is not an arguement, Brou. 😉
So losing to Denver okay but losing to the team that beats Denver is worst ? Make it make sense Brou.
Tuxedo Wright
Win lose or draw, a finals appearance at 24/25 is insane and him actually winning would be otherworldly. That means he would go thru the 4/3/1 seed in the west AND the Number 1 Eastern conference team?! HE GOTTA DO ALL THAT TO SAY HE TOOK A STEP FORWARD? Mind you most analysts said the kyrie trade was a failure, and that the trades for pj and gafford didn’t move the needle much(when they occurred) now you saying it’s win a ring at 25 with this team or bust 🤯🤯🤯😵💫😵💫😵💫😵💫
So What About Tatum?
Luka's only competition is Referees with blessing of NBA.
I think what kind of bothers me with his argument, is that going into the series it’s always “this team beats the mavs” but once they do its “they haven’t proven anything yet.” The celtics will be the most rested team heading into the finals. They will likely finish the pacers in 5.
