I've been changing those fuel filters each year for about 20 years and never had one look like that, I think you have water in the fuel tank because the filter looks rusted. I would be wanting to clean out the fuel tank before trying to run it again. Or else you might have a repeat of what happened. Check the gasket on the fuel cap and also the gasket for the fuel gauge sending unit.

That water separator filter is a mess. What does the tank look like? Have you ever thought of doing a series on installing a Holley Marine Sniper FI Carb set up?

I remember you mentioning this before and it’s starting to look like a good idea. I think the only part that had me worried was the need for air/fuel bungs needing to be installed on the exhaust manifolds. I need to pull up the spec sheets to verify. Thanks as always! It’s good hearing from you.

Dry graphite spray. Place in stove to fully dry.

It’s more than the carburetor that suffers when you run old gas…. I destroyed a freshly rebuilt V8 with old gas thinking that only the carb would suffer… Bent push rods… jacked rocker studs out and flattened a cam… Brand stinking new motor… Never again have I allowed old fuel into one of my engines

Lucky for me it clogged up the carburetor all the way and not a drop of anything made it out of the spray nozzles. Thanks for your comments!!
