- How to remove, rebuild, and reinstall the carburetors on a 1992 Sea Doo XP.
This is the rebuild kit I used for my particular engine:

But do some research and figure out exactly what you need for your year and model.

Anybody that gives this video a thumbs down, must have thought this was a cooking video. Excellent vid!
or they actually know what they are doing and can see all the incorrect information this guy is giving. to much to list. go watch someone who isnt doing it for the first time. plenty out there.
Thanks for the video. Very helpful. Videos are so much better than books! Don't be too harsh on the last guy that painted over everything, even though it was sloppy. Sea Doo actually says to paint over any exposed surfaces in their tech manual. I'd rather have a crappy paint job than corroded parts. You can always strip paint off but you can't add pitted metal back.
Thank you so much for the great quality and description on how to remove that crazy carbonation system off. It ran perfectly so far.
Wouldn't have been able to do it without ya! Much thanks for getting me and so many others back on the water! 👍🏻
Thanks for taking the time to do the video. I’m getting ready to rebuild twin carbs on a 96 Seadoo GTX. This video was very helpful.
Thank you sooo much, literally learned 10 times more than any video I’ve watched or anything I’ve read!!
Wow, thank you! Great video and learned so much. Ordered the kit and pump and will be trying this myself.
I am a marine tech starting to get into jet skis your video is excellent I like the pace you set up very slow and methodical . Keep up the good work thanks
Wow! That was an awesome video! Very detailed and great camera positioning. A lot of times you can't fully see what going on in the video or too many assumptions are made. This was perfect!
I just bought these same two skis yesterday, 1992 XP, and GTX. Dang. Yours are cleaner. Thank you for this video.
Wow, amazing video, nice vlog and clear HD picture. U R super talented!
Excellent vid and great detail to actually succeed in rebuilding Seadoo carbs. This is the best video I have viewed.. Thanks again
very clear and detailed video of what to do from someone who really seems like he cares!
Thank you I waited all the way to the second carb because I wanted to see if yours had no gasket and just the rubber ring and thank god you showed that thanks for the detailed video really helped.
Thank you for this great video. Very well done. I decided to tackle the rebuild on a 94 XP. Little different setup but the rebuild was same. CZcams is such a great educational tool with videos like yours!
Glad it helped you out!
I used the fuel needle pin to press the rubber retainers into place and my carbs were also poorly coated with paint as well most likely factory.
Thanks for the info👍
Thanks bro been tryna figure out how get those carbs of my 93 xp. your a saint
Thank you, your excellent, detailed video was perfect and my Doo is running like new now! At almost 30 years old!
This video came in clutch! It was exactly what I needed! Thank you!
Thank you! It was a good help to my PWC reborn issues
Very clear and presice content, learned alot from it.and thanks for seadoo source info.wasnt aware there was help out there.thanks for doing this.snookie pa 94 650 yamaha ski owner.
welder's tip cleaner, good assortment. Love your video, easy to follow and thanks
I’ve been looking for this video so long, excellent !!
Excellent video....i learned what seadoo recommends, the names and locations of the fuel lines and "pulse" line. And i have watched several carb removal videos
Thank you
Great video, much much thanks. Very detailed and thorough. I also have a 93 xp, except only one carb. Thanks again...
I have a 93 xp as well and mine has 2 carbs wander why?
Very detailed video. Thanks for posting!
Paid $150 for mine and running like new. Had trailer made for extra $150. Thanks for the video!!
amazing editing.. thank you for removing the time wasting parts!!! needed this!
Dude, I just bought THIS VERY Seadoo! It has the same red RTV fix on the air filter. Crazy!
Awesome Video!! Teaches the Procedure of this repair!! Thanks!!
PHENOMENAL video brother. Thank you.
Thank you for your excellent and helpful video. I am buying a seadoo soon.
At 31:54 in the video there are clear plastic discs. The discs I got in my kit had a top and bottom. The discs had a white stripe to show what side was to face outwards. The parts sheet that came with the rebuild kit had this information on the back.
50sKid is one of the best Sea Doo mechanics I have ever seen online. Great video. I would never have tried this without this video. Sorry kid, i greased my needle o rings. No offense.
Thank you for the video!! it was all the information I needed ! Thanks again !!!
Easy. You made it too easy. You're amazing
I don't even comment on videos but i must say.... Great job! and thanks man!
Thanks Man , I am slowly trying to rebuild my 1994 gtx 657 🤦♂️ , but trouble finding right parts hopefully I will complete it for my autistic son who loves it!!
Super informative video, thanks!
Great video.Very helpful thankyou.
Very helpful video
Nice & clear 👍👍
Amazing video thanks!!!!
Good video. As for the oil injection and try rotary valve gear I would convert to pre mix and for the rotary valve remove the oil pump, insert a hose and fill with oil. no more seizing when they oil injection breaks. Always lubricating.
Awesome video!
very helpful! great quality
great video, just a couple hints after messing with these for a while
these are Japanese carbs, use a JIS screwdriver set to get best fit
use loctite/blue on screws
I find a common razor blade paint scraper works well for removing old gasket crud, prevents rounding
Thanks! This was perfect.
Fantastic video!!
thanks bro
this video is perfect thank you so much
Thanks a lot! Really helpful.
Thanks for the vid. Is soooo helpful. Iv got my carbs off my 92 xp, the same as you have there. I have found needle and seat are 1.5 and you say 2.0 is what it needs. Is this the same for mine? I cant find anywhere on the internet for the specs of what it should be. Cheers
thanks for making this movie. yea just thank you
Thanks for the video
Thanks so much for the video!
I was nervous about doing this, but not anymore. One question. It appears I have two fuel lines going to carb, but I'm assuming one is a return line. I want to put a filter in line on fuel hose, so would that be the top hose? Thanks again!
I like the mini drill bit kit from harbor freight. very small drill bits and still too. lock em in a vice grip to hold. to clean the little carb holes.
a bristle from a wire brush works well also
This vid is perfect! Gotta wait for the impact driver to get here to finish, but I'm not mechanically inclined and this walked me through it great! Thanks man
Is there a seal of any kind on the "intake manifold" the carbs bolt to? I know about the carb base gaskets but what about on the side that bolts to the engine?
Thanks for the video !!
Hope it was useful, thanks!
Great video, really clear and informative, thanks! I'm looking at getting a 97 GTX that might need carb rebuild, I assume it's basically the same process.
Pretty much, as long as it's a 2 stroke carb engine
Thank you for your video it helps I will do mine gtx 94 this Coming weeks
Pulling apart my 95 GTX carbs, the side with the circular one way valve had a square diaphragm and the other carb did not have this square diaphragm is this correct?
Thank you for the video, that is exactly what I need to do clean the carbs, fuel lines when winter comes to my 94 seadoo gtx awesome thanks so does both 1 and 2 carbs has the same high speed adjustment and low speed for both?
THANKS YOU YOU WERE SO VERY HELPFUL
looked all day at so many thank you did i say thank you have saver my seadoos
Very Informative video!! Thanks! One problem I have now is that when I took the assembly off, the valve timing plate came off as well. Am I assuming correctly that I need to re time the this engine?
Thank you for this.
What interval do you use for carb rebuilds ?? is it an every season kind of thing ? Checking since we just got a 787 SPX and its not hard but not the easiest if needles get stuck/jam up over time.
Also, do you use anti seize on any of the carb exterior bolts ? and mounting to the block?
suuperrr, i dont speack english but you help me with this video... merçi beaucoup ;-)
What rotary valve timing settings did you use? I just upgraded my seadoo (same model as yours) to twin carbs and its keeps backfiring like crazy
wow thanks for this video! :D
I marine repair for a living but I don't do much on skis . But I have done a lot of carbs in my life in automotive and marine applications. If you are going to do any kind of carb over hauls you really need a solvent or carb dip at they say to boil carbs. The passages get dirt and rust and crud inside and will block the fuel passages . You have to boil the carb and then rinse it out and blow out all the passages or you will end up with blocked circuits in the carb and end up with a bad running engine after you have installed the repair kit. Another thing that is critical is anytime you rebuild carbs always , always replace the fuel filter, If you don't the dirty filter could dump dirt water and rust into your rebuilt carb. A gallon of carb dip is fairly in expensive and comes with a small basket inside for all your small parts. Don't skimp other wise you may get stranded on your ski.
Great Job, thank you.
Hello, great video!
Question, I cleaned and replaced gaskets. Also replaced the needles and seat on my 96 Xp, and after I fire up, it idles super high , even lowering the idle, and it spits fuel out of the top.(air filter) do you have any suggestions?? Thank you for your time.
Do all these carbs have an integral fuel pump, or do some systems use a remote pump? My Tigershark with Suzuki 900 triple has a fuel pump that runs off crankcase vacuum.
awesome video... helped out greatly on my rebuild....quick question... is it weird to have oil in the pulse generator? on the hose side....
Yes, Thanks for the vid.
quick question my pop off psi is between 36 to 60 psi thats a big margin any recommendations?
Awesome! Good info
Hi what how many turn do u don the rear pot carb bc I can't find how many turns out to do
EXCELENTE!! 🙏 GRACIAS !!ME SUSCRIBÍ.
Hi, is video for duals and is there a video for the mag carb? Thankyou great vid.
Getting ready to rebuild the same carbs on the same engine on a '93 gtx
Can you tell me the brand name of the pressure tester you are using? Thank you.
Amazing
Thank you.
How do u read low speed neddle 5/8 +- 1/4 & high speed neddle 1 1/8 +- 1/4
Do you know what size needle for 94 seadoo gtx dual carb?
You’re my hero
hi thanks for the vid - just pulled my single from a 92 seadoo sp - I have a question. The pulse plate, as i took it off from the outside - (is this correct? the plastic gasket goes directly onto first oring and metal?). I got 2 identical gaskets here which is why im asking).
outer plate
paper gasket
plastic film
sandwich plate (with large oring)
rubber gasket that blocks the big round ring but is open at the fuel filter and a side ring
carb base (with fuel filter etc)
When I reassembled the plate and applied 5psi to pulse tube, i got bubbles leaking out between the plastic film and paper gasket next to it - no scratches to the aluminum seal lip, etc.
Does the plastic film pulse back and forth? I ordered the cheap set and used mostly original parts as they were still good, my diaphragm had a pin hole in it.
Fyi my pop off is at 29psi - right in the ball park. Also - when i do the suck/blow test on inlet/out - the inlet has a noticeable difference (in = easier obviously), but the out seems to have the same resistance in or out - what could case this? I didnt change the plastic washers - not sure if the original kit was better quality. The diaphragm that came out had the pink original mikuni pin - so using as little from kit as possible.
thanks!
Your single should be identical to the one I showed in the video that had the pump diaphragm in it (I don't remember the order from memory, so I would suggest just referring to the video)
50sKid hi thanks yes I verified it on the manual. mine kept leaking past plastic and gasket even at 3 psi so skinned lightly with permatex ultra , all good now. I read the pulse cover can warp, probably what happened. well my pop off is perfect too. will pressure test fuel tank to see if it's leaking. thanks again!
Hi awsome vid , just wondering if you know how to bypass the oil feed I want to premix myself . I don't want a fail and my engine to freeze up ... Thanks Tom
Hi Tom, I would imagine you can just drain the oil then cut and plug off the two oil feed lines going to the pump. However, I would encourage you not to do that. The oil pumps on this engine are extremely reliable and don't have a history of failure.
hello,,,thanks for the video, very informative,,,i have a 1991 GTXsea-doo with the same dual carburetor as yours but my is not starting,,,if I put starter fluid by the filter then it will start but then go off after the fluid is gone,i install a fuel filter on the fuel line and I can see that there is not fuel getting suck into the line.Any comment,,can you help me out...thanks.
Either the carb needs to be rebuilt (there is a fuel pump built into the carb) or there is something wrong with the fuel switch unit that is preventing fuel flow.
My valve plate fell out what do I need to do now? Didn't see it or where it was till it fell
i wish you would have done a video about the gtx too i nned to see how all the linkages work cus i got one taken apart and i have no damn clue where anything goes
What if your ski dies down as soon as u take hand of throttle how should u adjust the screws on carburetor. Thanks for the great video
I pull one of the wires off of a wire brush to poke through idle jets, do not use a tiny drill bits to clean jets with, you will enlarge them even if you are careful
Looks tricky. I just ordered a carb kit for a 650
Beyond helpful. youre a saint
you need a JIS screw driver for those philips screws to fit correct.
Also you have to know your accurate pop off pressure settings from the book and as long as they were Within five PSI of each other it really doesn't matter
And this carburetor setup has a small cable that runs your oil pump you always want to check your oil pump alignment with a mirror it has two tick marks that must be lined up at idle speed if you get this wrong it will burn your motor up or it will foul your plugs
Hi. thanks for the video!!! Are these the same carbs that are on the 1994 XP?
