I made the almighty ayamase stew for the first time ever!! Thanks to you and this absolutely helpful video. I followed it to a ‘T’ and It tastes delish!😋💁🏽♀️Due to lockdown and the absence of full-blown Naija parties, I started craving ayamase after I saw someone’s post.🤦🏽♀️ I’d always considered ayamase a specialist delicacy only to be handled by the ‘pros’, but I did it!!! Thank you....💃🏾🤦🏽♀️🤦🏽♀️😋😋💃🏾
Try this today and it was AMAZING! I blended my locust beans before frying it. And added a lil bit of concentrated stock! Thank you for the recipe! 😁
Will blend mine when making 2. Thank you

Thank you!❤
Wow this ayamesse is something else I think I’ll try cooking it. 😆
Lovely...yummy...please wat make is your blender😊
Looks great. Thank you for this. Is it part of the roasted onions that you added to the oil?
Sorry am a Cameroonian and I want to try your food looks delicious 😋 what can I use if I don't have lucost beans
This ayamase looks very good and delicious particularly with the roasted peppers. Please any advice on how to roast peppers in the oven without burning them?
Nice one. Can I use the red tatache
Hello Sisi Jemimah, please is locust bean the same thing as ogiri okpei? Down South Nigeria it's not easy to come by Iru
No,they're different. You can skip it TBH. I usually do.
Yes almost same, same job they do i think
Hi. I'm new to your channel and new to Nigerian food as well 😊. It looks delicious but I was wondering how come you use so much oil? I was expecting the excess oil to be discarded before adding all the other ingredients.
Ayamase requires loads of oil. Trust me, I used far more than what you see in the video. Eating in moderation is key.
I loved this video it looked so yummy. However I have a question. What's the purpose of draining the blended pepper? If it's not done will it in any way affect the outcome of the Ayamase?
Absolutely loved how easy this is to make. Just to ask does the roasting take away the bitter taste?
Not sure what you mean by bitter taste. The flavour of green pepper is very potent, that why you fry for a long time and on low heat.
@kinky and fabulous it's usually bitter when you blend it with the seed blend without the seed and you are good to go👌
what exactly makes ayamase spicy. i’ve been eating it my whole life and it’s so delicious but i wanna try making it for myself.
Lovely👍👍👍please can i boil the pepper
Am first today
😀😀thanks for stopping by x
Thanks for the recipe. Sis J, please how did you bleach the oil and you didn't have smoke everywhere
You can achieve that by covering the pot when bleaching. and after bleaching the oil don't open the pot till the oil cools down then u can open the pot u won't have smoke everywhere👌hope that helps
You keep the pot covered
I was wondering what the roasting of the pepper would do! My God! It tastes like naija party ofada sauce. I don't know how u mange to keep ur eggs whole till d end sha. But all join! I will actually go and buy leaves to wrap my rice in for more of the authentic taste. But for now, everything will go with this sauce! Even bread Lol🤣
It looks really delicious.
Wow this is nice.. did you do away with the pepper seed?
Yes, but not entirely. I really shouldn't but it's a force of habit ..
@@SisiJemimahsRecipes oh okay 😊 I tried out your recipe today, it was superb👌 thank you again for the video
Nice! Excited to try this. Can I freeze the rest of the stew? Concerned because there's egg in there as well. Thanks
Yes you can but you'll need to take out the eggs before freezing..
@@SisiJemimahsRecipes Alright. Thank you so much.
Finally, I tried this out and it was amazing! I was shocked at what I made. I was making a larger quantity, so I was skeptical about not getting the pepper mix right, but it turned out great I got great feedback. I was too excited trying this out that I forgot to wear gloves to sieve the pepper... it wasn't pleasant on my fingers at all. But overall, the recipe is 10/10 and asy to replicate. Thank you!
Can you use a mixture of red and green pepper?
Appetizing! what do you eat this with?
Rice or rice and and black eye beans
❤❤❤❤❤🌹
Sisi...am going to try this recipe again with roasted garlic. But I need to ask your permission first
Please the name of your blender looks like it's everlasting 😌😌
It too good I will make it every time I'm back from work soooooooooooooooooooyummy
Please how did you bleach the palm oil?
I made it but It tasted a bit of bitter taste, please what could have caused it.
Followed your step but my ended up bitter . Can I know why pls ?
Are the locust beans cooked when you put them in?
How many maggi cubes did you put aunty Jemima
Do I have to use a food processor or any blender will do
Hi, good recipe thanks for sharing, sometimes the peppers taste abit bitter, does the roasting of the pepper s take away the bitter taste?
Remove the seed before blending hope that helps
You need to use slightly overipe peppers it taste better 👍
@@nissi4491 thank you so much
Can I use a little bit of red ata rodo? Also, how did you bleach the palm oil without your kitchen getting filled with smoke? Is it supposed to be that thick? Can I make it a bit runny?
Yes you can use Atarodo. I try not to show palm oil bleaching process cos I've had accidents twice in the past so I'm very wary so I don't get the blame if.... What I do is pour palm oil in a pot, cover with a lid, referably a glass one without steam vents. I bleach on low heat for 20 -25 minutes. Then I switch off the heat, leaving the lid on for another 15 minutes. By then, the smoke would have evaporated back into the oil so no smokiness when you eventually open lift the lid. You can monitor the colur changes through the glass lid during the bleaching process. Ayamase isn't runny TBH but feel free to personalise it to your taste.
@@SisiJemimahsRecipes thank you 😊
Can I use just green scotch bonnet peppers?
