The fact that we get access to YEARS of knowledge on a specific cuisine for free is insane. Thank you!
My chinese mum genuinely said the other day " your're actually good at cooking..." , little did she know i had been following chef lau's recipes! 😆Thank you!
That's the ultimate seal of approval. Your Chinese parents praising your cooking.
I've studied under a great Chinese chef that used to be an executive chef at the famous grand hotel in Beijing and I approve of this every step! Thank you for teaching everyone how to make authentic chowmien!
Amazing! Thank you so much!
I was the assistant head chef there for over 4 years and this technique is qualified enough. Although you could add more for texture and style.
Do you even approve the chicken bits being RAW, since he added them at the end?
@@baloghbotond4250 bro its already cooked, its pre cooked then cooked together to the noodle. Chicken cooks easily!!! 😂
I am a legendary cooking god descended from the ancient spirit of rice noodles and I approve of of this every step.
This is, hands-down, one of the greatest cooking channels on CZcams (and no, not one of the greatest CHINESE cooking channels...channels, period). Daddy Lau explains logical reasons for performing each step in his cooking process, and is a charismatic teacher to boot. I've made many of his recipes, and they were all amazing! I'm so happy you all are posting these recipes/techniques for us to learn and enjoy.
Also, I'm an Irish/lebanese woman from the US. Your family is super wholesome, and if you ever wanted to adopt an adult w/ no parents, hit me up! Thanks to your channel I even speak culinary Cantonese! J/k. Keep up the great work!
Chinese cooking demystified is also good.
Pop lol
As a non-Chinese, from my perspective this dish is the most fundamental for learning Chinese cooking. It's easy to learn, but surprisingly hard to master, which gives you an excellent jumping off point for getting into Chinese cooking. As you gain more skill and knowledge, this dish will only taste better and better. Not only that, it is a dish that you can personalize quite easily when you know what you're doing. It is also fantastic for impressing any guests you might have around dinner time.
Swear to God. I'm Polish, was living abroad for quite some time, trying different ways of cooking, since I never order takeaway (I work in a restaurant). Your videos are the most inspirational and teaching of any I found to the date. Kudos and long life to Chef Lau!
Thank you for this recipe. It's not just your dad's long experience. It's his interest and attention to detail and also your discriptions that make Made with Lau the channel I turn to when I want to make a Chinese dish. As I thought, this Chow Mein
is a step up from the Chow Mein I used to get as a young girl (I'm 78 now). I can't wait to try it.
Daddy Lau looks great in our shirt!! Thanks for having us in this dream collab 🙌
The steaming vs boiling noodles is GREAT advice, I never realized this. Thank you!
Just wanted to say thank you again for documenting your dad’s knowledge of cooking. It’s so important to pass this kind of information on to the future generations.
@SHIMMERINE1. DID YOU SAY "ON TO "THE" FUTURE GENERATIONS?!!!. YOU MUST'VE MEANT TO SAY "ON TO FUTURE GENERATIONS(YOU FORGOT TO EXCLUDE THE WORD "THE"),DIDN'T YOU?!!!. GOT TO BE CAREFUL ABOUT THAT ETYMOLOGY & GRAMMATICAL USAGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!.
Daddy Lau knows his ways on the kitchen. Great lesson. And he's a sweetheart, seems to be a very kind man 😊❤
@KTMTXT. DID YOU SAY "KNOWS HIS "WAYS ON" THE KITCHEN?!!!. YOU MUST'VE MEANT TO SAY "KNOWS HIS "W-A-Y A-R-O-U-N-D" THE KITCHEN, DIDN'T YOU?!!!. GOT TO BE CAREFUL ABOUT THAT ETYMOLOGY & GRAMMATICAL USAGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!.
@@lloydacklinjr.2032 OK LLOYD!!!! THANKS FOR THE I-N-F-O-R-M-A-T-I-O-N!!!!!!!!!.
I'm not Chinese but I fall in love with this special meal after tasting it for the first time! How I wish I can make this... Sending love from Nigeria
Good food is universal!❤ from Chicago
Daddy Lau’s supreme soy sauce chow mein recipe has been a staple for me since that video was released. Looking forward to upping my noodle game! 🍄
Also, I did notice his snazzy shirt before we got to the sponsor portion of the video. Thanks for always highlighting Asian owned small businesses.
Beautiful family we appreciate all your dad’s cooking, your such a good son
My beautiful partner Elise and I are making Sunday's as learning to cook Asian food with Lau. We have nearly mastered won ton soup the won tons are looking like won tons instead of different types of animals 😂. I cooked beef and black bean last Sunday and it was awesome and was even better when left in the fridge overnight.
Tomorrow Sunday here in Australia 🇦🇺 is spring rolls and seafood or chicken chow mein.
Thank you so very much Lau I've always wanted to be able to cook Chinese food and you have made it possible with your easy to follow recipes 😀 🎉
I wish you and Elise luck ❤
Made this tonight! My kids asked if I bought it from a restaurant. So damn good. Thank you Lou’s
I am happy to see this dish being made by a professional! You are a wonderful teacher! Thank you!!!
There is nothing better than home cooking. But it only works if you have the knowledge. And as you know knowledge is power. Thank you My Lau for giving the power.
Hello from the Republic of Ireland and I really liked your 'shout-out to unsung heroes who cook everyday to support their families'....keep up the great videos.
I’m no more ordering Chinese food thanks to your dad’s recipes and my son enjoy it every time thank u 🙏🏻 from my bottom of my heart ♥️
Hello. Love from Singapore. Your dad is indeed a great cook. He shares the little technique that only top chefs knows. Definitely eye opening. Very skillful from the cutting of ingredients. You can tell it is from years of training.
I have this thing where if I want to learn a recipe from any country of the world, I would like to see person from that country cooking it, preferably an elderly or someone who doesn't even speak English...It would be the best of recipes! So I'm so thankful for your video! ❤❤❤❤
做同教🉐️非常好 一定會學煮。謝謝你
㊗️各人身體健康 萬事如意❤
非常感謝
非常感謝您的支持和祝福!老劉衷心祝福您闔家平安!新春快樂!萬事如意!
I LOVE HOW YOU TEACH. NOT JUST SHOWING THR RECIPE BUT SHOWING US YOUR TECHNIQUES. ANYWAY I AM 31 YEARS OLD FILIPINA FROM PHILIPPINES LIVING IN AUSTRALIA. I CAN SEE YOU TO MY FATHER. MISS HIM THOUGH HIS IN HEAVEN NOW. GOD BLESS YOUR FAMILY
Daddy Lau is such an amazing teacher 🙏 Just when I thought I’ve learned enough techniques and alternatives here’s Daddy Lau teaching me something new. Thank you! I think I’ll make this dish for a family gathering next wkd! ❤
Best explanation between chow mein and lo mein. Thank you.
This chow mein looks so fresh and delicious! Thank you Chef Lau, I will make mine like this! 😊
One sort of funny thing I often add: the sugar snap peas always have some with quite large peas in them. I shell these and set aside the peas for fried rice or egg flower soup, then cut the tender pods in strips for stir fry-it’s a nice additional crunch, and more veggies!
OMG, I love and use sugar snap peas all the time and never thought to use the peas separately! Duh! haha
Thanks for the idea!
@@Momo_0_o I couldn’t bring myself to discard the edible pods!!
the last chow mein video has become a staple here! i wish i could get fresh noodles around here, im stuck with the dry ones. looking forward to this one!
Made this for lunch today and got amazing reviews from my family. My kids don’t know it is Chinese food because I’m Mexican and to them it is just yummy food mom cooks. I wish i was Chinese, but I’m glad I can learn from the culture through you guys. Thank you 🙏🏽
Be proud of your Mexican side of you, chica, also, I'm glad your kids loved this dish you made for them. . I gotta try making it too cause it looks damn yummy! :)
I love your channel, and really appreciate you translating as well as the subtitles for us english speakers. I often listen/glance at my phone while working, and I'd just be too distracted to work if I had to read the subtitles the whole time
Love your channel, your dad and your mini stories❤❤ thank you 🙏 I have enjoyed a TON of your dads recipes I love the authenticity and his candor 😊

Daddy Lau really did it this time. Those tips and tricks are wonderful. I never knew how to get the noodles with a good chew until now, steaming. How simple is that!!! Love how you're capturing your father's legacy. Happy to subscribe to this wonderful channel!
TRUE
Beautifully explained 🍜
Finally! It's all about how you handle the noodles. I have been working on chow mien for over a year, with little success. Sure its was good, but to be honest, the end result was little more than fried lo mien. Thank you so much for this and other posts.
I love your all of cooking. , God bless you and your family
I must thank you for the amazing recipe. I made it twice in the last week. My family loved it so much.
Dad Lau, Once again ! You are the reason I finally
true Masterclass. Thank you
I love this video, thank you Daddy Lau for sharing with us all. ❤❤❤
Thank you for the lesson👍
Perfect video, thank you!
Thank you Mr Lau you make it look so easy! May I ask, if I’m using dry noodles, do I still steam and then boil? Thank you 🙏🏻
DADDY LAU - the daddy we don't deserve but the DADDY WE NEEDED 🙏❤
wonderful! Your dad is great! Thank you for sharing!
好正❤.多谢师傅指教🎉
