  • James Harden has quit on his third team in three years. Harden finally got his wish and was traded from the Philadelphia 76ers to the Los Angeles Clippers. Despite still being a very solid player, Harden has gained somewhat of a reputation in recent years. He has burned bridges in Houston, Brooklyn, and now Philadelphia, each time blaming the situation he was in for his lackluster performance. Now Harden finds himself in Los Angeles, with a Clippers team that has championship aspirations. But Harden can't and won't save the Los Angeles Clippers

Tony Allen made a great point about James Harden; he’s doesn’t do anything when he passes the ball to someone. All he does is stand there; he doesn’t cut; he doesn’t set picks; he never relocates after he passes the ball; he only moves with the ball. Because of this, it’s much more easier to neutralize Harden whenever the playoffs come around.

There is no way James Harden positively impacts the Clippers long term. The only reason he's there is for a contract extension which Steve Ballmer would be crazy to give him since he's already putting out $1.2 billion for the Clippers new arena and potentially re-signing Kawhi and Paul George to supermax extensions as well. With Harden's playoff history, I don't see him being the X-factor for the Clippers going far this year, their best-case scenario is the conference finals. And Joel Embiid needs to demand a trade from the 76ers, because they've failed him.

It's always so weird hearing people talk about Embiid. They wanna say he does shit in the playoffs, like at 9:45, but also wanna say he hasn't had much help. You say he does awful, then go through how he hasn't had a stable co-star and how the sixers messed up terribly with Butler, okay. Wouldn't have an issue (for lack of a better term) with it, if that excuse wasn't used for other players. We hear excuses for other all stars or mvps that didnt have any help, so it doesn't really matter if they underperformed, cus who cares? Their team was bad. However, Embiid is somehow awful AND has no help at the same time?
I understand he doesn't play to his best in the playoffs, however, if you're gonna say he hasn't had much help, then obviously he's going to diminish in the playoffs if other teams are focusing their defenses around him, no?
    Just food for thought

PG has yet to give Kawhi that but that's all he needs cos he can't keep going 100/100/100 to win games in the 4th quarter cos 70/60/89 wasn't enough like in 2021 playoffs.

I have no faith in harden. I hope he never gets a championship. Such a disgrace to the game

Terrance mann? From field of dreams? Harden is EXTREMELY overrated. Hes a decent shooter, but hes EXTREMELY lazy. Plays nearly 0 defense, especially the later into his career u go. He likes to dribble alot, used to be a goos passer, but i guess realized at some point he had a higher chance at making the shot than most teammats, so now he just pulls from about 45 deet out. The big one for him though, is the almost 0 defense. I'd taKe a jimmy butler over him, 10\10 times. Same w/Westbrook, he might get you some random points, but will NEVER truly step up to play solid D....mostly bc hes afraid of getting posteriZed as the tiny little boy that would get dunked on by the LeBrons\iguodalas of the world, so he doesn't even bither trying. They're both players that ALWAYS Wants to be the one shooting, but NEVER the one sacrifiing ANYTHING for their team. Especially Westbrook, likes his little temper tantrums, and acting like a kid who jhst turned 17-18 and is veey petulant and complaining ALOT. He will NEVER admit hes the source of any problems, bc in his mind hes "awesome". They both get hurt alot, especially harden. I dont consider firing up 50 foot 3 pointers bc theyre easy, Westbrook might drive, but only bc its easy foer him. If he played defense, hed be pretty good. But he doesn't. Rus wants to parade around wearing female pants that show off his shaved legs or something, always trying to impress people with how eccentric he is or somethin, and I never was even slightly impressed by it. I cant understand why ANYONE ever would even care, much less be impressed by some douche wearing pink shirts to show people he doesnt care about looling feminine or somethin. Thats not why i or really any true man watches basketball 🏀....if anything its the OPPOSITE of the reason we watch. He likes to b***** and complain about calls that dont go his way, hes a CANCER in the locker room. If i were a coach, I'd literally keep my younger players on the opposite side of the locker room, and I would look for ways to humilate Russ, since he seems to try VERY hard to always "look cool" but to me, never EVER is. They're both only gonna give you random points. Probably about 20-25. You might get 40-45, but RARELY. You'll throw off your entire teams "dynamic" bc they both grind the game to a HALT, with their selfishness and typically taking the laziest shot possible. I can't emphasize enough, how devastating this is, to other teammates. Someone like KD wants the EXACT opposite teammate, role players who know THEIR role. Oddly enough scoring is probably the easiest part of basketball, nearly every player can handle that part--so even IF your shooting % were higher, it would still be meh to me. Getting teammats involved, is how teams win championships. That Toronto team, plenty of talent, but theyd be HAPPY to defer their shots, to kawhi, or whoever else. With KD's golden state team, they had enough talent ans good coaching
To basically just do whatever they wanted, but you'll notice teams that have Russ, or Harden, dont go too far in the playoffs, and they both, even COMBINED have 0 championship rings. Wanna guess WHY? Harden has even been an MVP, makes all-star team, but couldnt win it all...when lebron managed in CLEVELAND...outside of kyrie, didnt have that much talent around him. Not as much as harden has had at times, even with Paul George, or awhile back trying to get carmelo Anthony back into the game, cant be done. You cant just throw "scorers" onto a random team together, and expect to win it all. The truly elite teams, have role players, and stars who DONT care if they have to reduce their scoring numbers...thats why so many of these squads with 2 or even 3 stars, fail MISERABLY, sooo often. Yet Jordan and pippen, with role players around em...end up with like 6. One year they might be more defense minded, another they might have bill Cartwright and go more inside. Jordan had to get tougher after the detroit pistons days, they pick up Rodman, kinda the Ultimte role player, and BAM, they're damn near unstoppable. Truly great coaches, will get something out the Toni kukoc's, or Steve kerr's shooting or relatively decent defense for a smaller guy. Jordan knew it too, he couldve cared LESS about his amount of points, long as theyre winning. Kobe, same thing. Obsesed with WINNING, not scoring alot of points or making ESPNS top 10 plays. I dont have the respect for Russ or Harden, bc they just arent truly willing to sacrifice, for the TEAM to win. I've always liked paul George, especially fighting back from a horrific injury, and I believe him and someone like melo, BADLY want to win it all, but dont have the coaching or role players to truly get there, especially anyehere near 6 times. Theyve also changed the game SO much, that it barely resembles the jordan/pistons days where they stole Rodman. That man was DEDICATED. He mightve been crazy, but Jordan knew that would compliment his style, he was practically jordans bodyguard back in the day. Literally NOBODY messed with Jordan once they took rodman. He was great with pistons but ELITE with bulls. Dozens of plays where he dives onto floor, risks his body for just possesion of the ball, not even for points. Now you can't even put a hand up to "check" better players, so u end up watching Russ, harden, Damian Lillard firing up 57 foot 3 pointers from half court. Thats nice and all, but unless its a game winner, or Dame bein the VERY rare exception that can actually make those type of shots regularly, it doesnt TRULY help your team. It might pad your stats, maybe even a buzzer beater from time to time, but u aint winning no Championships without solid coaching, solid defense, and solid role players. Take away any of those 3 main parts of the game, you get left with "good teams" that simply cannot win it all. This is why Jordan, still to this day, respects Rodman, even more than pippen, after pippen started runnin his mouth especially. I loved scottie pippen back in the day, hes still probably the most famous person ive ever met in RL in Bahamas running all over the place with his girlfriend and bodyguard--he got voted to the greatest 50 players of all time I remember it from awhile back, but Rodman to me was just as important, maybe more. I truly would take rodman over Russ or Harden, for almost ANY Team. You can get simple scoring from almost ANY NBA athlete, but you RARELY get 100% defense effort and the absolute dedication of rodman. And when you got the literal best player of all time, giving you compliments, after 6 championships, I dont see how anyone could ever deny it. THAT'S a true game changer in my opinion. You keep Harden n Westbrook, but I'd take Rodman
