Did The 76ers Screw James Harden?

- James Harden has gone scorched earth on Daryl Morey and the Philadelphia 76ers. On a press tour in China, Harden called Morey liar and said he would never play for an organization that Morey is part of. This comes after the 76ers were unable to find a trade for Harden. Harden opted into his contract this summer, foregoing the chance to enter free agency in the process, with the assumption that the 76ers would trade him. Harden had also taken less money in the 2022 offseason, assuming the Sixers would reward him with a long term contract this offseason. After two apparent broken promises, did the 76ers screw James Harden?

I call this the alternate ending of what could've happened in Dallas with Kyrie.
Not really Kyrie could have just signed anywhere he wanted just like the Boston situation
There was never a chance this could happen fool, kyrie couldn't have opted in, he was a free agent, so it was either he left or signed with dallas, you fools just like saying anything
Except kyrie has won on the biggest stage, something Harden hasn’t done since he was on the bench at OKC.
@@TheJC0203 for some reason Kyrie gets no credit for that championship
@@Smith9082253 Exactly Kai was one of the most important reasons the Cavs came back 3-1.
“The sixers did not screw James Harden, James Harden , screwed James Harden.” Vince McMahon
Look at Harden man, so inspirational, feeding all these NBA CZcamsrs!
James Harden was not wronged in the slightest. They tried to move him but no offers satisfied them. That doesn't make them liars and that doesn't make Harden some sort of victim.
I disagree if he was promised money when he originally signed the pay cut deal and then was promised a trade
If they lied to him they are in the wrong
They could have just accepted the picks and not Terrence Mann
In addition, this kind of under the table deal is illegal and Minnesota were punished heavily for it in the 2000s (5 first round picks forfeited, 2 of which they earned back)
However i dont see Adam silver ever doing such a thing.
Because they went through w it and found evidence. Not the case w philly
@@WatchSicarioWinIronically, we found out about the Joe Smith deal because of a lawsuit that put all the documentation on the table.
1:46 shit given how the MBappé/PSG saga is going I wouldn't put it past him to actually do that 😂
In 99% of circumstances I would say Harden is in the right. But with how he has treated his past teams, and forced his way out to void the contracts, this is sort of karma in my opinion. Harden has shown a total disregard to his teams, playmates and overall franchise health. He sort of had this coming. Now if this was a player like Embid instead of Harden then I would 100% be on the players side.
Harden knew everyone was tired of hearing the Blazers aren’t interested in Miami’s offer, so he gave us something to hold us over until that happens
Deploy the fat suit is hilarious asf. I just imagine him like Tony Stark like “Jarvis, deploy Fat Suit Mark II” 😂
Love your work guys, keep it going. You should have way more subscribers for the quality of videos you guys provided.
Please continue to keep up the great content!! Always love the quality of your videos!
Gotta say,, the graphics are ELITE!!!💯
Quality video. SS has become of the channels that sounds like two guys at a NBA game without the noise.
My opinion about James harden is yes he got screwed . I remember hearing about the opt in and surprised he agreed to it. Based on the performance the last two years I wouldn't give him a dime. Just add the 15 to his new 2 year contract in incentives.
Love the content guys! Keep it coming 👏👏
Allen Iverson will always be the best thing to happen to the 76ers for the last 25+ years
I don't know why Harden is NOW expecting a max contract, given his age, attitude, and his inconsistent performance last playoffs.
Perhaps, Morey did want to give Harden the max before the playoffs, but then saw his performance in the postseason, guessed a decline in his game, and didn't want to commit that much money to him.
Good for us the boring part of the offseason is mostly done. Harden saga will carry us until the world cup and soon after world cup is pre season
No. Our players just love being divas
Y’all should do a video on your thoughts on the NBA in season tournament
2:39 the disappointment in bro's face on the right 😂
Harden wouldn’t have been in that situation had he showed up in the playoffs. He’s doing the same thing he’s always done, disappear in big games. He’s like a slightly taller Chris Paul.
Can someone explain what would’ve happened if Harden didn’t opt in to his contract? Couldn’t he still requested a trade either way? Just tryna understand all this.
Alex Hoops had a very good video on this, but the new CBA rule set really screws James and I can see why he’s mad. The first apron and second apron salary cap rule is really harsh.
76ers need to build around Maxey
Pj tucker got paid to do fucking cardio
Poor James. Couldn’t have happened to a less toxic, less selfish choke artist.
James Harden has always been a flopping choke artist who gives up on teams. He shows up fat or literally gives up on the court in order to pressure teams like the Nets and Rockets to trade him. Players like Chris Paul and Kyrie Irvint get way more hate when this goof exists.
Irving, Anthony Davis, Kawhi, KD, and Dame have done the same thing😭
maybe he could fit well with the Wolves
So is Daryl Morey a backstabber or it's just business
End of the day James Harden screwed James Harden. Daryl Morrey traded for him and gave him gave him the team in Houston and Harden underperformed. Daryl gave him Dantoni, Dwight, CP3 and Westbrook. Then he also forced his way to Brooklyn knowing full well what Kyrie is capable of. The after Kyrie inevitably had his meltdown Harden chose to leave the best player he ever played with in KD and forced his way willingly to Philly with again with knowledge of what Morey has done. So after that and having another meltdown in the playoffs like usual instead of looking at the common denominator aka himself he chooses to pass the blame of his failures to win on Morey.
All James harden had to do to get his max was to play consistently and not shit his pants at all in the playoffs. While he won them games in the series with the Celtics, he also had to throw away a few pairs of brown stained shorts.
James Harden might not actually be wrong for lashing out at the 76ers, but unfortunately his past is coming back to haunt him. That's a really tough predicament.
Harden's past dealings with other teams..
Kind of makes it hard to believe he's in the Right.
How many times does a player have to have a Problem with A Team.. before realizing HE might be the problem.
Nobody is the Victim ALL THE TIME.
1:24 I think he repeated it once. He said it once, then he repeated it once.
This is all KD's fault. He set the wrong example for Harden TWICE. First time, at OKC when he had a team when Harden was a rookie but decided to take the easy route and joined the Warriors. Then when they got together again in Brooklyn, things were even worse and KD demanded a trade out of the team. Harden knowing he is also a super star, is just doing what he saw KD was able to get away with in this league.
What are you talking about? KD left OKC and the Nets AFTER Harden, not before him. Harden couldn't have followed him
@@john-olivierlukama1548 my bad.
James Harden promised Morey he would score. And look what happened....
Morey didn’t screw harden. Harden screwed harden! #Phillyscrewjob
I’d send him to the warriors or lakers for some pocket lint, 15 dollars paid in increments over 60 years, a 2176 first round pick and a mini hoop for Ben Simmons to play around with when he returns.
This is in harden not the 76ers. Not there fault he opted in. Also word doesn’t mean anything until is on paper.
His reaction to China n how they treat him shows he's for the love and money not for chips. It's insulting to fans here as if he went there 5' tall he'd get the same love. But it's a business right?
Karma is a b1tch and that goes for both sides especially Harden. Superstar shenanigans have been going on for too long and its finally come to a head. The NBA needs to step in and make an example out of these two.
Hear me out
Philadelphia 76ers trade: James Harden
Shanghai Sharks trade: Starting SG, The whole bench, and 2 pick swaps
Nah they’d give up future bench warmer Dillon Brooks, Marcus Smart because he and Joel Embiid love each other, and a clown costume for Embiid to wear after he loses in the second round in 2023-24-25-27-28… in 26 he gets injured and they win a championship
I wish NBA fans were consistent. People defend Harden because Morey lied to him, but criticize Dame for asking a trade with the Heat when Cronin lied to him. The Blazers shut Dame down for half the season so that they can get a better draft pick. They tell Dame they will use the pick to trade for another star. Actually they draft his replacement Scoot Henderson. Ok Cronin are you at least gonna get a good free agent? No actually we are gonna resign Jeremi Grant for a fuck ton of money.
Dame: ok please trade me to the Heat.
BOOO! Ran from the grind, justice for Cronin.
Awful double standard.
They screwed each other
with how self centered harden is, and how sleezy daryl morey is, i kinda think the truth lies somewhere in between.
"if you help us open some cap space this season, i promise we will pay you what you're worth next season", and "yeah absolutely, if you opt in, we will look into trading you"
which harden probably understood as "i promise you the max" and "we will trade you for nothing to whereever you want to go".
Imo its like 50/50 harden getting screwed and harden being a diva
Let’s look at why he opted into the contract, because he was greedy and wanted more money for his old out of shape ass. It’s not like he got in good shape and played his ass off. He was sorry then expected to get a bag. He’s in the wrong and wanted to be rewarded for it. You don’t get paid for being a good player years ago for another team.
Go to the Wizards.
After almost 10 years of letting Harden play GM? All his fault.
Don't feel sorry for Sixers or for Morey. Anyone who touches Harden deserves to get snakebit.
Harden won a stupid prize for playing stupid games with all these antics.
James Harden screwed James Harden then he gunna try to be a victim when he gets Carmelo Anthonied
NUMBER 3 AND NUMBER 55 WOULD HAVE DID BETTER THAN NUMBER 1 AND NUMBER 21 IN GAME 7 AGAINST BOSTON 😂
Does he have a right to be mad? Yea but I don’t give af it’s what he deserves
Harden screwed Harden
james harden screwed himself. if he was willing to take a lesser contract thats far more fitting for his role then this entire situation, is not a situation. instead he believes he's entitled to get paid and have long term security as if he's coming off an mvp year and has room to be better. sorry but he is only gonna continue to decline.
Harden did nothing for the 76ers. Trash performance in Game 7 and he wants money. Sorry ass need to be playing for free
all due respect to harden but he is not worth a big contract at this point in his career
the sixers are looking out for themselves. james harden is not a victim and this idea that players have the right to make demands instead of fulfilling their contract is everything thats wrong with todays league. the reality is harden is 33 and only getting older. he will not hesitate to be out of shape, he will party over working out, he wont complete a contract with a team. so why do the sixers owe harden his ideal trade? its not the sixers fault, its hardens fault. he wants money that he is not worth. if you think he is worth that, you probably think jaylen brown deserves to be the highest paid. teams are not stupid enough to package a deal that simply is not worth a james harden thats old and out of his prime. is harden still a good player? sure. but he is not that guy. he is not worth what he's asking and its that simple. he plays like ass every postseason, he whines when things even slightly veer off the path he envisioned, and his best years are behind him. he has no leverage to be asking for a long term huge deal. thats all it is. he forfeited that #1 option bag when he requested to go play with better superstars. he put himself in this position. i cant wait till he's out of the league because he is a terrible example to the young talent of the league.
How about Harden screwed himself by consistently playing like ass in the biggest games of the season. He's lost the benefit of the doubt THREE TEAMS maybe James is the problem!!! Don't fall for his BS he doesn't deserve it
Operation Fatsuit 🤣🤣🤣
No, james "choke master" harden screwed up the Sixers
Harden seems to be a cancer on whatever team he’s on.
He was not wronged or robbed. He took a pay cut for players to make him comfortable #1. #2, Harden is a bum. We watched the playoffs. Why would Morey jeopardize the 6ers just to make harden happy? Nobody is willing to give shit for him. But that's to a good team, which is where harden wants to go. I'd trade him to Orlando or some other bum ass team to get some young Dawgs and just look to build around Maxey while embiid is on the team. So when he does go u at least have a direction. I thought this was needed with Ben. Get dawg role players like Josh hart n shooters with a better coach. But this goes to show how much the process was a waste
