- The Finals MVPs of the 2010s had some legendary performances. You had Kobe Bryant winning his 5th ring in 2010. Dirk Nowitzki's upset over the Miami Heat in 2011 and LeBron completing a 3-1 comeback during the 2016 NBA finals. And then you got Andre Iguodala. Today we rank every finals MVP performance from the 2010s.

The FMVP might be debatable, but "With the fate of the universe on the line, I WANT IGUODALA!!!"
Iguodola first ballot hall of famer?
😂
Lmao
That was a funny quote but it was a time in 2017 where ppl trusted him with the last shot over Steph and KD I remember the Warriors Rockets seriesnin 2019 Gsme 2 or 3 the game before KD got hurt both Steph and KD bricked clutch shots and later in the Finals Iggy made a very clutch shot for them
@@DreDaDon16 eh, I got nothing against Iggy, he def was a key piece on the Warriors and even back on the Sixers a baller. I just love the exaggerative enthusiasm with which Max delivered that line... 😂
Iggy and 2014 Kawhi basically got the "Congrats you played pretty good D on LeBron" award😂
2016 5 more reasons why is special:
1. First ring for Cavs
2. LJ was first in every statistical category(insane)
3. LJ won against best regular team ever (Warriors 73-9)
4. LJ as home boy came back and won ring(best NBA redemption arc)
5. Come back from 1-3
I am so happy I watched that game on my PC
Best nba finals if all time.
@@thedangerwich5476 possible, win in game 7 against 73-9 team, with iconic moves LJ block, 3 pointer from Kyrie and most unlikely defense from Love, all of that in last 3 minutes. It is like scenario from movie
Worst being n Oakland
Wow rewarding a player for falling 1-3 in a playoff series. I couldn't accept adoration for that. Same thing coming back from 0-2. It isn't as impressive as being up 2-0 and going on to win 4-2. A boxer winning the first 7 rounds of, losing the next 7, and then winning the final round is far more impressive than a guy being down 7 rounds, winning the next 7 to tie, and then winning the final round.
@@jeremiahh.3383 in every sport come-backs are well respected and most important they are very exciting to watch. Klay game 6 against Thunder, Shaq Kobe come back against Portalnd, Dirk Nowitzki comeback vs Heat game 2, Heat come back against Spurs...That are all iconic moments for NBA and sport in general.
Dirk's FMVP in 2011 is similar to 2019 Kawhi in that it's an all-time playoff run but it doesn't include an all-time finals performance
Yeah it's too high on this list. Dirk didn't shoot particularly well in the series.
Even as a dirk fan, id also say 2 is reaching, the story is amazing yes but it wasnt like he dropped 30 a game with 50 40 90 shooting
@@havelthedeadinside1799the mavs won due to Lebron underperforming rather than dirk going off, good finals performance but a little overrated
@@johncena4096he didn’t underperform bro he choked hard af keep it real lmao
@@happytimes8623right he played the worst he’s ever played at any point in his career LeBron averaging 18 points is crazy asf
LeBron is so good two players got the Mvp’s just by strictly slowing LeBron down, not even stopping him
And only one actually deserved it.
@konstantinrhokamov2767 I'd say Kawhi actually deserved his because he played well enough on both ends to warrant it but Iggy... honestly, I'd still argue LeBron should've own it over him. It just makes no sense to me.
So they won that award on his head basically
I was legitimately a Bron hater until 2016. I remember my mind changing play by play. It was unbelievable. A good thing too because if I still had all that hate in my heart during Lebronto, I may have ended it all 😂
LeBron made such an impact that 2 players got Finals MVPs largely because they "slowed him down" which kinda says everything.
Lol I'm glad I'm not the only one who noticed that. Its crazy how there's so much discourse surrounding Lebron on the regular and that the 2013 game 7 performance literally never gets talked about. Its like nobody even remembers that happened. And that game overall was an all-timer that nobody brings up.
Game 7, 37.12.4 52% FG 50% 3 hits the final jumper in the last 25 secs then gets the game winning steal maybe the best game 7 of all time and it never gets mentioned
Can we talk about how underrated that 2019 Toronto raptors team was? I remember thinking, how the hell does this team beat the warriors. But looking at that roster now, they were pretty damn solid. Their top 12 guys arguably was the best I’ve seen. When Jodie Meeks and Chris Boucher and Norman Powell are your 10th,11 and 12 worst player then you got a pretty good team.
No disrespect to that raps teams, but with a healthy kd the warriors woulda cooked the raptors
@@28momas39healthy 2015 cavs beat the warriors
@@28momas39idk about that. imo it woulda been a 7 game series
No disrespect to that Warriors team but they lose to 2018 Rockets with a healthy Chris Paul
@@28momas39 maybe…. Warriors were still a deep team, maybe even deeper. They had a washed up Bogut and Cousins at center so Toronto had them beat at the front court.
Kd was literally better than curry statically in 2018 finals. Curry def should’ve won in 2015 but KD deserve both 17 and 18.
2018 nah. Steph only had 1 bad game. For most of the series he was doing amazing. While KD struggled in game 1 and 4. Even tho he got open and easy ass shots.
@@muhammadrajput3502 curry as inefficient and Kd avg more points, more assist and more rebounds, and more blocks. Kd was significantly better than Steph in 2018 finals
Don’t you think that kd game 3 when he dropped 40 inflated his stats and Steph had that stinker that game took down his numbers a little bit just saying lol
@@selfvonte1931 I still think KD deserved it but not by much, curry was clearly the driving force/better player in 3/4 games but had one horrendous games that tanked his averages.
Literally facts because the trifflin virgins in this video were obviously hating
The 2012 Finals are so underrated
I can believe how underrated is this channel and the small advertisement it has when their content is fresh and well done.
Kd deserved 2018 finals mvp over Steph 28.8 points to Steph’s 27.5 points 7.5 assist to Steph’s 6.8 assist and KD averaged 10.8 rebounds to Steph’s 6.0 assist KD averaged 2.3 blks to Steph’s 0.8 blks Steph did averaged 1.5 steals to KDs 0.8 steals and KD averaged 52 percent from the field to Steph’s 40 percent from the field and Steph also averaged 100 percent from the free throw line to KDs 96 percent and Steph did average 42 percent from 3 to KDs 41 but in almost every category KD beats Steph
Facts bro was literally hating like a mf
As a die hard Kobe fan fan, it pains me but I have to give Bron the GOAT title. If you think MJ the GOAT that’s cool too, but that run from game 5 to game 7 against the Warriors that Bron had was the single best 3 game span of all time
You forgot to mention Kobe had a broken finger on his shooting hand which was a big reason his shooting splits were inefficient.
Also had a busted infected knee cap which needed to be drained and a bone spur in his ankle. He was beaten to hell that playoffs. But still won
I mean, Kobe in his previous 6 finals appearances had shot 36%, 41%, 51%, 38%, 40% and 43%.
So with the exception of that 2002 sweep against the hapless Nets, shooting high 30s/low 40s in the final was sort of his level.
So 2010 was in keeping with that.
Game 7 of the 2016 finals has been burned into my brain I remember watching the first 2 quarters at my dad’s house then when my step dad picked me up he wanted to go to a restaurant on the way home it was a a Famous Dave’s and they were playing the game obviously and I remember watching that block and just being in awe like I was upset cuz I wanted the Warriors to win but still just respected the man it looked like he beat the team himself it was just amazing
I was an avid LeBron hater until the 2016 finals. Like you guys said, if you watched that run he had during that comeback all you could do is sit back in awe. Also that finals (beside 07 but he hadn’t taken over the league yet) was the first time during LeBron’s stretch of dominance where he was truly an underdog in every sense of the word. I feel like that made him easier for me to want to see the Cavs complete the comeback.
eh, it really was only Game 5 and 6. His game 7 wasnt that good tbh. Draymond was the best player in that game
Oh you bet your ass I bring up that Shot he hit in Game 7 all the time. Casuals love to forget that
Also hit 4 Freethrows after the Steal to do what the Spurs couldn't in Game 6
Watching game 7 live was so amazing especially the last 6 mins of game 7 😭
Great list
Damn this channel is growing fast! Been watching since 10k, keep up the good work!
Great list spot on
Great episode 👍🏻
the bron chuckle edit was top tier. whoever edits these better have gotten a raise since this aired
I really got no problems with this list. Nicely done.
Meeeh, Dirk’s 2011 final slightly overrated. Went against mental asylum LeBron. Amazing playoffs overall, but saying he beat the Big 3 Heat misses context. I’d put it third or fourth personally
It proves why FMVPs shouldn’t always go to the winners..
Amen
Like 2014, 2015, 2018, best player on an individual basis was Lebron James
Got recommended your Why Everyone Hates Boston video last Friday abs have been watching all the videos. Your guys content is amazing. Keep it up!
I wouldnt mark Kawhi down because Klay got injured. That was in game 6 so it wasnt like Kawhi was playing against Curry alone
Rank the 2000s next!!
Do you guys plan on doing NFL videos in the future? I would love to see that
The Lebron meat riding is crazy
Or maybe they are just actually fans of the game that appreciate all time greats unlike you internet weirdos that say shit like "meat riding"
Yall sus
You disagree with 2016 being number one
2011 Dirk was outplayed by wade and Shot bad your going off of story bro not who was the best at all
It's kinda obvious by #6
That Dirk ranking should be closer to Kobe’s ranking if we’re incorporating non-statistical factors
in iggy's defense, open shot, the fate of the universe on the line, the Martians have the death beam pointed at earth, you better hit it... I want IGUODALA!!!
11:04 no cap he ain’t lying I was standing on my feet watching the final moments 😂😂😂
This is exactly my list 😂💯👏🏿
Steph actually had like 2 or 3 bad games
When Iggy was on the court, you could literally see the pace of the game switch entirely. When they put him on LeBron, his efficiency drastically dropped. His numbers were very high because of the first 2-3 games before Kerr decided to keep Iggy on LeBron every second they shared the court. Yes he had good all around numbers, but his scoring wasn't the same.
Still, he is at the bottom of the list. But lets not undermine his effort. He also upped his offensive game compared to previous three series.
LBJ in game 3: 40/12/8 .441 eFG%
LBJ in game 4: 20/12/8 .341 eFG%
LBJ in game 5: 40/14/11 .485 eFG%
LBJ in game 6: 32/18/9 .424 eFG%
Iggy locked LBJ down quite a bit during game 4, for sure, but that's it.
LBJ had a bad eFG% (for his standards, that's average for a player like Kobe for example) during the games he was primarly defended by Iggy, but he had a bad eFG% overall during all of the playoffs in 2015. He was at only at .440 eFG% during the 2015 playoffs while is carreer average in the playoffs is at .520 eFG%.
LBJ had an average of .423 eFG% against Iggy, that's a .017 difference from LBJ average during the 2015 playoffs. It's nothing, it's marginal.
Iggy +/- is pretty good but just a bit better than Curry, a player who was supposed to be a target defensively at the time.
Iggy, at best, was the most important player in Game 4, a game that would have been lost by the Cavs even if LBJ had scored 40 points. That's great, but that's only one game of the six, and it was a blowout anyways.
And yes, the eye-test might indicate that Iggy's impact on LBJ performance was really high, I'm absolutely ok with that. But when the eye-test conlusion isnt really corroborated by any statistical evidence I dont think we should push that conclusion as some sort of truth.
Iggy was an important part of GSW's victory, that's for sure, but to say he's the MOST important part is a bit of an exaggeration.
The Warriors can win without Iggy, but they can't win without Curry or Draymond.
TL;DR: Iggy has no good reasons to be the finals MVP.
@@Herzeder Should've done what they did with jerry west( i think) and give finals mvp to lbj even though he lost since he was better than anyone on the warriors(maybe, not 100% sure).
Kd 2017 is an all timer doesn't matter that he had crazy help and this is from a lebron fan.
For sure.
He was the only reason that the title went to Golden State in 2017. He made it unfair.
Exactly, I don't like KD either but you can't deny when you see utter greatness and domination. You have to put those at 4 and 5 at the very lowest.
I would put it at 3. Sure he had insane help but the stats are ridiculous@@susanlee594
Great order fellas!
Watching you from France, you guys are fucking amazing
Dirk had a sick game as well.
One of those underrated what ifs: What if Draymond Green got dunked on the end the game?
You say slowing LeBron from 40ppg to 30ppg wasn't good enough, but it was good enough to win the series, right? If LeBron scored 40ppg the whole series the Cavs win.
I wish they had the gall to award FMVP to a losing player when deemed fit. Like, Lebron totally deserved a couple more
I am convinced this video was made just to shit on Andre Iguadola.
Kyrie, Giannis, and Shaq show up to your court wanting to run 3s. In a game to 50, 1s and 2s, winners take, which 3 players all time would you assemble to defeat these 3? All players are in there prime and you must choose a PG, PF, and C.
Last time I was this early Dirk hadn't won his chip yet 😂
Imma Knicks fan / Lebron fan… but Kevin durant’s 2017 really needs to be studied. Idc who he was playing with. He was unstoppable. Having it 6 is way too low
Facts they both were hatin like a mf
@@Ballislife35_7 2017 KD was god mode in the Finals, but the Cavs were way overmatched. Almost all of the defensive attention was on Steph or Klay which made KD's life so much easier.
@@the757general2 bro KD got doubled too and the system gs uses works to benefit steph and klay and you can’t blame 35/8/5 on curry getting doubled

Draymond would be talking a lot less if Bron made that dunk
2015 curry got robbed
2018 it could’ve gone either way
What makes me mad is that Curry shouldn’t have won his FIRST fmvp In 2023, it should’ve been 2015. And because of that it sort of in others’ eyes diminished his ranking. Which pisses me off to my very core
For real man, I'm not even a fan of Curry like that for real and I know he should have won it in 2015 but people decide to be dumb or something
@@ikedatike2533 one of the biggest robberies right ahead of Tony Parker’s 07 FMVP
@@sufyaankhan4686 Oh yeah definitely. When I looked back at that series, Tony Parker was literally cooking the cavaliers by himself
@@sufyaankhan4686 wrong. LeBron should've won in 2015. I don't give a damn that he lost. He almost averaged a 36 point triple double and took the Warriors to six with Timofey Mosgov as his best teammate. The league didn't want to give him the Jerry West treatment.
@@the757general2 that’s just not how it works tho bro
The only thing about iggy is that Lebrons efficiency did plummet once he was being guarded by him, but he still definitely didn’t deserve it.
You can have one monster game and then a bunch of average games and get an mvp.
28.5 points 10 boards 4 assists is Alright? (Kawahi)

2013 lebron and 2016 lebron were the best for sure
Am I tripping or do I hear Roman Reigns theme song in the outdo? Lol
In number 3 in that game 6 LeBron scored 16 of his teams 32 points that quarter
I dont even like kd but if the stats are better then he deserves the finals mvp, most people dont care about the circumstances the better player just gets the award
The Iguadala mvp confused me then and still confuse me till this day
I have zero problen wtih Iggy getting FMVP in 2015. If not him then LeBron deserved FMVP in 2015 over Curry
Curry's Impact was on and off in that series. He was third in voting for a reason. The numbers and stats for him also don't tell the whole story
Kawhi needs to be higher 28 ppg. And when guardng curry specifically he held him to 35% FG. and his knee was bad that series. He needs to be top 3
I feel bad for iggy man…
Y’all really used an edp clip smh
Not to mention Kobe was also playing with a broken finger and bad knee that series.
Lebron shot like 40% from the field. Iggy did slow him down. You can’t stop a guy like Lebron from scoring, but he made it hard and Lebron shot horribly. Steph only had 1 bad game but also only had 1 great game, and the series changed when he started those last 3 games. Iggy winning it isn’t as ridiculous as people make it seem
