How to Transfer All Data from an Old iPhone to a New iPhone

- You can now easily transfer all your data from an old iPhone to a new iPhone faster than ever before.
Previously, your best options were to use iCloud, or a computer to transfer data from one iPhone to another iPhone.
But with iPhone 11 and 12, this process is much easier.
You simply need to hold your old iPhone and new iPhone next to each other and follow the transfer process which only takes a few steps.
Step 1: Back up your iPhone using iCloud. We won't be using the iCloud transfer method, but we will do this for safety.
Step 2: make sure your new iPhone is on the hello page. If it's not, you need to reset the phone to its original settings for the settings menu.
Step 3: Unlock your old iPhone. This will work for iPhone 7, iPhone 8, iPhone X, iPhone 11, and iPhone 12, iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max, and iPhone 12 mini.
Just make sure both phones have the same iOS or the new phone has a newer iOS.
Step 4: Scan the code that appears on your phone and follow the steps.

I greatly appreciated this video. I am 66 years old and depend on my children for all tech help. My old phone was on its last breath and no one was available to help me. Your video is very easy to follow. The only step you did not cover was an iOS update and that threw me. I had to start the process over. Thanks to your instructions, I was able to reset the phone and start over. I also I had to take out the SIM card of the old and put it in the new. I even had to look up a video for that. Fortunately, StraightTalk had one.

I have never did the phone transfer myself because I have always depended on the sales associate at the AT&T store to do it for me after upgrading to a new phone, but now the associates in the stores no longer do this service for you. Wooooooooooooow….. I spent theeee ENTIRE day trying to transfer everything from my old phone to my new phone but to no avail UNTIL I searched and came across your video! Love you for this!
Need to KNOW, BEFORE TRYING THIS!!! Charge both phones first. Had started this process, now tells me must update to iOS 14.6 on new phone 12 pro max. Waited 20 minutes to download and prepare, now gives me error and stalls cause new phone must be AT LEAST 50% charged! Arrrggggggg, frikin Apple. And guess what? No charger in box anymore cause of some treehugger bull$hit lies, it’s USB-C and old chargers don’t work and of course no adapter. Old charger and cord will work on USB A, but way frikin lower power and slow.
Taking this back f*ck you Apple!!

Apple is so awesome... it only took hours of trial and error, several articles and FINALLY this video to transfer from one iPhone to another. Even 3 years later it still works

I used this method to transfer everything from my iPhone 11 to my new 13. When I connect my 13 to iTunes, none of my music shows up on the phone now. This is music that I have downloaded and imported into iTunes and is not Apple Music or music that I have purchased through iTunes.
For some reason the transfer have failed even though i have installed the lated ios on both my iphone x and iphone 13 and still cant transfer the data. Let me know how that goes for you please.

Mahalo for this video! I'm Gen B, too. The transfer of data from iPhone 6s to my refurbished iPhone 11 was successful! As you demonstrated, it was very important that I needed to reset the iphone 11 first because it was set with the home screen on. Thank you for pointing that out!

@@preciousmichael9506Sorry, preciousmichael its been awhile since the transfer. I rarely use FB but I don't think it automatically logged in. I don't use WhatsApp so I'm not able to answer your question on that.
Oh my gosh thank you! At first I was having trouble with it cause all my data didn’t come though but instead of signing off from my acc this videos helps a lot which explaining everything instead of trying to spend hours on trying to fix it.

A little helpful information for some if they need to start. Make sure your Bluetooth is on. Not sure if that's just common knowledge, but mine was off and I couldn't even get passed the first step....lol. After I turned Bluetooth on it was the easiest set up ever thanks to your video.

Thank you for this video, I got a new iPhone a month ago and had to pay about 13 dollars (10,000 naira) to clone my phone. I had the phone replaced today and I decided to see if I could find a video that will teach how to do it and I came across your channel. I carry a spare/backup phone. Moved from iPhone-6 to my previous iPhone-8.
Note for others who may want to use this method:
This spare phone is rarely used & has minimal pictures etc. It took about 20 minutes to complete.
The iPhone-8 looks & works fine.

@@lanaoluic1923 Yes, it did. It was ridiculously easy! I just had both phones switched on and as soon as they were near enough to each other a message popped up asking if I wanted to transfer information from one to the other. Took about 10 minutes, but I only have just under 500 photos and not that many apps. Obviously the more information you need to transfer, the longer it is likely to take. Good luck if you going to do it!

This is a really good video, but please update the instructions to say that both phones should be plugged into chargers. I kept getting an error message until I did that and numerous people on the web seem to have the same trouble. Thank you!

Thanks. Will try this from an iPhone 8 to a iPhone SE Gen 3 as I don't see why this would not work although the SE is not listed in the description. Edit: It works for the SE Gen 3. Note, if the new phone (I bought it used from Amazon) has an older OS, it prompts you during this process to update the OS and then continues after completing that task. This really works well in 2023, thank you!
