I feel like the bar for the boys island and how they would perform was immediately set in hell because rather than having a natural death like Jannett's (not saying that Jannett's death was a good thing, but the girls didn't have to see her mauled body) they had it happen in the worst and most traumatizing way possible. Gretchen's stupid experiment wouldn't have even been like viable anyway.

As a writing and series structure, the boys make so much sense. I think due to the younger fanbase the hate was extremely ridiculous. I really enjoyed this season.
i disagree. obviously there were some people who just didn't want to see any boys, but i think a lot of people didn't like it because it just wasn't well executed at all. it was WAY too ambitious-- to introduce SO many new characters with compelling backstories and a current plot, and maintain a current plot for the girls as well, and do it in fewer episodes-- it was a silly idea, tbh. the end result wasn't (in my opinion) flat out bad television, but there was a noticeable decline in quality from the first season. having to balance both casts meant that the boys weren't given enough time to fully endear themselves to the audiences the way the girls were in the first season, while simultaneously the girls weren't able to have as coherent and well fleshed out a story line as they had before.
(my personal opinion for how they could have managed the introduction of the boys ***mild spoilers to follow*** was to just reduce the cast. have some horrible accident take place early on and have a boys cast of like 4-5 characters. it'd make it easier to follow, make them more fleshed out, and it'd lighten the story of some individual character background episodes that fell flat. it'd also add some legitimate stakes where people /actually/ die.)
people were so overdramatic about the boys, it truly aint that bad. but i guess all the hate caused the show to be cancelled, thanks for that
The show was cancelled because it was terrible. Hating something this bad is not 'overdramatic', its realistic.

Why u don't had continued the episodes of season 2?
i don't think the boys had more screen time than the girls at all. in fact, i think the girls had more focus. people just hated that the boys were there at all bc they loved that it was a girls show. i personally thought it was a great season and was excited to see what would happen next but then it got cancelled. :( but i'm excited to see the rest of your reactions! :)
