i love 3D so much i have 139 3D movies. I have the 3020 Epson 3D projector & 135'' Elite screen. I upgraded my room to a darker black wall panels and ceiling making the room 100% darker. Covering the windows too making 3D flying around the room plus i had to buy a new HDMI 3D cable. A darker room makes the effects work 100% better. i enjoy my 3D forever.

Interesting choices. Maybe not the absolute best choices to show what 3D can do but still a good list :)
The majority of MCU movies have good to great 3D, Guardians & Strange are both excellent but Thor Ragnarok and Captain Marvel are the standouts. All 3D Transformers movie are excellent. Creature is a nice addition for historical context and some people only like native 3D. You're probably in the minority for Tron 2 coz the 3D is mostly weak and the grid 3D you are seeing is mostly 2D drawn 3D. I see great recommendations below as well, I have almost all of them. Finally, the bigger the screen, the better the resulting 3D picture. Not so much for pop-outs, but for depth and scale.

Good stuff! I agree with most of what you have described with one exception. “A Christmas Carol” had a dark transfer. Totally terrifying right up there with the exorcist. What the hell was Disney thinking. The CGI unsettling. Good 3D though. Thanks for posting. Keep up the good work.

I would definitely add Drive Angry, Edge of Tomorrow, and Pacific Rim, but I know there are too many out there to have a short list! Good picks overall. I still haven't gotten Transformers TLK because of all of the negativity. I may give that another thought after hearing your comments.

I have edge of tomorrow and pacific rim and those both have great 3D. Still haven't seen Drive Angry. Transformers TLK is good if you go into knowing that it's cheesy and doesn't take itself seriously. It's your typical blockbuster popcorn flick with tons of action and laughs, with some of the best 3D out there 👍

Thanks alot! I have all the ones you mentioned and I agree with most of them except for Aquaman. Didn't care for it that much. But that could also be because I originally saw it in IMAX 3D so now when I watch it on 3D Blu ray I feel like alot of the picture is being cropped out. Also didn't care for the movie that much. 🤷‍♂️ Really looking forward to Black Adam though 😁

Meta Quest 3 is a game-changer and has re-invigorated the used market for 3D Blurays. Initially a pricey pain in the butt to set up (MakeMKV & 4XVR player are required and cost €90, plus you need a PC with Bluray drive), but once set up be prepared for the ultimate way to watch 3D movies!

What amazes me is that no one has recommended what I consider to be one of the best 3D Blu Rays, "Titanic"
Come on, if I hadn't seen it, I would have believed it. The 3D in that movie (non-native) is excellent.

Guardians of the Galaxy 2 makes my top 10 as well. Interesting that a lot of 3d fans have colllections of around 300 bluray 3d discs. I would endorse getting a 3d projector in preference to a 3d TV. One example is ‘Life of Pi’, it is awful on TV butstunning when projected. I would like to hear from anyone who has the laser projector 6000 ES from Sony as the 3d should be amazing due to it’s bright light output, but I have yet to see a review of it in 3d mode.

The Sony Xw6000 works extremely well for 3D however be aware that for the Xw series Sony changed their polarization from 0 to 90 degrees so get glasses that are 90 (hi-shock sells them) i run an 18 foot diagonal hi gain screen and 3 d looks amazing

Apparently you dont understand the change in aspect ratio changes in your Transformers pick. When the ratio changes so the black bars at the top and bottom of the screen are more slender (think of the black bars as the top and bottom of the wall in the theater) those are the parts shot exclusively for Imax theaters.
Tron Legacy same thing there too. In fact Imax 3D is the intended format it was made for. In a Imax theater it appears you are watching a normal 2D standardized ratioed movie until the film switches to the computer world. And bam, in comes the strong 3D and the Imax screen fills completely with the stereoscopic image.
They did something simular to the newer Wizard Of Oz movie as well but for regual theater. There, the beging of the film, we go from an old school small, square aspect ratio, a sepia tinted image with mono sound to a wide screen, full color, stereoscopic image with surround sound.
As for Creature giving your eyes some strain thier is a reason for this - before being pressed on the Blu Ray format some idot thought it would be better to alter the left/right images (the paralax or convergance of the stereoscopic image) so there would be more pop out. In its original and re-releases (of which I have seen quite a few) the image is very deep with minimal theater space effects. Remember, in the 1950s the custom built 3D cameras just couldnt do the tighter close ups needed to pop stuff in your laps.
Remember 3D image is scalable, meaning the bigger and brighter you can get the image the better it looks.
In House Of Wax (1953) there is a scene where Charles Bronson appears to literally crawl up from the theater seats in front of you. This is heavily minimized by the size of the screen you watch it on.
It may suprise you to learn that most home projectors sold are capable of handling the Blu Ray 3D image you just need to buy some active shutter glasses which allows you to view the entire 1040p (passive halves the resolution). Dont worry those 100.00 a pop glasses now can be bought usually at 4 for 50.00 or less. Make sure that the pair you buy has a button on them that allows you to switch or swap the stereo images so they are viewed correctly.
For the best out of frame 3D effects try the end credits for Minions. Some modern 3D movies did this where the aspect ratio would change, but you wouldnt notice it due the black bars. Unfortunately, not all those films kept these out of the frame effects for the 3D home release. Not sure why.
