Glad to finally hear someone else say they didn't like the Bumblebee movie. It's for younger audiences with G1 designs. Yes Spiderman 3 was also the worst of the spiderman movies.

I just play the Blu-ray 3D on my PC and watch on my Oculus Quest 3. It’s literally the only reason I started watching 3D movies lol. I had a 3D TV once and glasses and I returned it like 15 years ago. VR is a game changer.

Totally agree on all counts. As Thor Ragnarok is my all time favorite flick in terms of 3D, Love & Thunder was a colossal disappointment by comparison. But I completely agree that the highlights were that opening sequence, the Omnipotent City scenes and the Shadow Realm scenes towards the end. It's ironic that in such a blindingly colorful movie with a Funko pop color palette as you so aptly put it, the best 3D scenes would be primarily black and white. I give it 3 out of 5 screaming goats. 😂

Great review Shank! I am not much of a Thor fan. I mean I could be if I gave it more of a chance. I just might do that now, knowing that there are "eye gushers" and "Funk-o pop color" enhancements!.... 🙂

Great review! I loved this, and don't hesitate to say it's maybe even slightly better than the original Avatar. And as for image clarity, it's the best 3D has to offer and the closest we've gotten to 4K 3D. The underwater scenes are mindblowing and Even the dark scenes are breathtaking.

Glad to see you back with a new review. I'm usually extremely positive in my reactions to 3D flicks, but I absolutely *hated* Wakanda Forever. First off, I detested the movie itself, and while I understand they were in a difficult situation with the untimely passing of Chadwick Boseman, I thought they squandered a number of great opportunities with the script. Plus they shifted focus to my least favorite character in the entire MCU. Secondly, I thought the 3D was atrocious. There were a couple of scenes at the beginning and end that were decent enough, but the majority of the film was so dark I couldn't tell if there was any 3D, let alone if it was good or not. (I do use a projector, which isnt very forgiving for dark scenes, so maybe its slightly better on an OLED). Overall this is my least favorite MCU film, my least favorite 3D in an MCU film, and I disliked it so much I nearly created a channel and filmed a review just to warn people against it. Especially since its so expensive and Marvel has such an elite pedigree when it comes to 3D. I even enjoyed Love & Thunder over this. I wouldn't get your hopes up for the 3D on that one either, though.. GOTG3 was really a return to form for Marvel 3D. (exhale... ok, rant over.)😂 Like I said, glad to see you back at it.

Get a quest so you can watch movies with all of us

I hate switching aspect ratios. Pick a format! I like to use screen masks on scope movies, so the picture is framed in nice and crisp with the lights off. Half the time the switching aspect ratio movies have like 5 minutes of fullscreen (Ant-man 2), then I have to sit thru the rest of the movie with black bars, like a sucker! Also commonly, when they do open up the frame, it's for stupid shots that aren't enhanced at all by the fullscreen. They have bars on the beauty shots and action scenes, and fullscreen on the close up dialog scenes. Just thrown around with willy nilly for no reason. I like the titles on Disney+ that did IMAX Enhanced with the whole movie in fullscreen, like Infinity War and Endgame. But back and forth sucks in my opinion. A movie should always fill the screen exactly if I'm doing a proper viewing with the lights off and sound up. Everything has to be perfect.

I never watched this one in the theater as I had low expectations.. however I ended up really enjoying it once I got my hands on the japanese import. that was a mistake I did not make with The Marvels, glad I caught that in the theater while it was available in IMAX form with both 3D and expanded ratios haha. For me the 3D in Marvel films always adds more than HDR.

Tron Legacy soundtrack in the background. Had to check my iTunes to see if it was me accidentally playing that at the same time as the video. Godzilla vs. Kong was some of the best 4K I've ever seen. Was debating getting the 3D. Interesting to hear that the 3D didn't add that much.

This is definitely an underappreciated 3D flick that deserves more love. Do you know if it was shot natively in 3D or was a post conversion?

Glad to see this review! I've been watching on quest 3 lately with 4xvr and that's a game changer... mvc decoding (finally) means full res playback from a makemkv file is easy and 512gb means I can store like a dozen 3d titles on it. Worth checking out if you want more HMD based 3d options

Good to see you back. I'm with you: No point in the 4K disc when there's a 3D Blu-ray as good as this one. It does feel like this could well end up being the final widely-available mainstream 3D Blu-ray release (outside of Japan). Us 3D fans now have to hope that the next Avatar film (and the next one...) manages to defy the odds and sneak out a 3D Blu-ray release. I'd always hoped Cameron would add a third legacy conversion to Judgement Day and Titanic and give The Abyss the 3D treatment, but I guess that's never going to happen. At least that film's finally about to get the disc release it deserves. Cheers.

Meta Quest 3 is a game-changer and has re-invigorated the used market for 3D Blurays. Initially a pricey pain in the butt to set up (MakeMKV & 4XVR player are required and cost €90, plus you need a PC with Bluray drive), but once set up be prepared for the ultimate way to watch 3D movies!

i love 3D so much i have 139 3D movies. I have the 3020 Epson 3D projector & 135'' Elite screen. I upgraded my room to a darker black wall panels and ceiling making the room 100% darker. Covering the windows too making 3D flying around the room plus i had to buy a new HDMI 3D cable. A darker room makes the effects work 100% better. i enjoy my 3D forever.

Great list. I don't have that many 3D movies, but one of my favs has to be 'Need For Speed.' It wasn't filmed in 3D but it may as well have been. The conversion is GREAT. One for showing off the format.

Working with blurays on the computer can be a bit daunting as a concept but it's actually quite easy thankfully. You can get bluray readers that plug in with USB so no need to have a pc with a disc drive since you can plug one in anytime! If you want to learn about it, the main magic words in google/youtube are "makemkv" (software/forum to back up blurays to your computer using specific models of reader) and "mkvtoolnix" (to combine different audio/video tracks from separate files/discs together). In the end, you will have a copy with whatever video, audio, and subtitle tracks you prefer, perhaps from a different country's release or whatever. You can even re-time them so that if one release has a bumper at the start that is 2 seconds longer the audio is delayed by 2 seconds to match. Anyways, let me know if you want more info lol. I am an avid collector and backing up my discs this way is helpful in case of disaster I don't lose the movies.

Love these choices!! Star trek is so good as a conversion. Do you ever mux in the atmos into your 3D releases? I have made hybrid versions this way before (especially since so many now come with 4K atmos + 3D 5.1) and it is glorious. Cheers!

Great review , i got this in 4k and blu ray but the 3d only disc which i want i quite expensive at the moment so i will have to wait ,also spiderman no way home 3d only is not cheap i should have got the same version that you have .
