  • Gosh Darn I'm such a lucky boy, a new super duper Bandsaw for my woodworking business.
I'm really not sure whether I love working with wood or working with fantastic tools more, but in this business I get to do both, and its awesome.
It was a huge struggle to get it into the workshop and then in place, but I rather think its going to be worth the wait and the effort.
Check out this supplier of BandSaw blades, first impressions they are excellent.

Nice addition Graham, always a good day when a new machine arrives especially when it fits like a glove. Very little wiggle room on that installation. I used to have ceramic guides on my old Laguna saw and they were a pain and fiddly to setup (had setscrews and no kip levers). Truth be told, the Felder fence seems better then my Agazzani fence. For resaw, I use a Lenox 1 inch, 1.3tpi carbide tipped blade which has been on the saw for years and does a nice job. Steve

    Another great video.
I wish I’d done a video of me getting my A3-31 up to my workshop, always a concern until they’re in place 😂

Hi Graham. Really great machine. I have had mine for about 8 years and never regretted getting it. The ceramic guides are fantastic. If you are considering using it for resawing I would certainly advise getting an extension table

Looks like it could be two inches higher but I don’t know. You look taller, like 6 foot. Lower is probably nice for heavier stock.

I think you asked Felder before, where the planer was made and they said Austria. I would bet that you do not get the same reply if you asked where the bandsaw is made.

Always a good day when new machinery arrives! What made you change from the Axminster one? I've been considering an M42 blade for my bandsaw - wasn't aware of any power issues that might be a cause for concern with it. What motor is in the Axie machine? Looking forward to the follow up to see how you are getting on with it 👍

The Axminster was 1.5 KW and the FB 10 is 2.5KW.

Superb acquisition. Did you consider rhe N4400 ? I’m hesitating between these 2

A very brief glimpse at it, I didn't feel it would have the power to drive the thicker stiffer blades I wanted to be able to use for resawing.

Hi did you do a follow up on where you get your timber from?

Looks huge, are you sure the blade position is correct? It seems teethering on the outside of the wheel guide, maybe backing it few mm would entail more stable cuts

Apparently thats where it should be.

Hello Graham, I have owned the FB 510 for almost a year and I can underline everything you have shown and said in your video. I didn't connect the lower dust port at all because the upper one does its job very well. Maybe you can say something about this specifically in your next band saw video.
The rip fence is really “underengineered”. The display for the saw band tension is completely unsuitable for me. If I try to adjust the tension for wider saw blades on the scale, this is not possible with normal effort on my FB510. How about yours?
Despite everything: I would buy the band saw again!
Thanks for the video and warm greetings from the south of Germany
    Hans

Congraulations, however you're going to need help, unless of course you've recently won a weight lifting competition???. It weighs a ton. I bought heavey duty casters and bolted them to the bottom of the pallet, highly recommend that approach.

@@GTWoodshop didnt think of casters, good idea! I was thinking a pallet jack but theyre and arm and a leg
