- Here I show the steps I went through setting up a Felder Fb510 bandsaw. This thing is huge powerful and so far really impressing me.

I have a question. I have seen that you putted off the upper wheel. My question is why? Moreover, the wheel goes off with the help of an extractor? Does it go off along with its bearing ? Many thanks!
Hi Fabry bit confused on the question. The extractor and the bandsaw are not connected they operate independently. If they look like they are connected that’s more luck than set up. Not sure what you mean about the upper wheel?
@@woodworkgeek I meant: how did you put off the upper wheel: Did you use a special tool? And why did you remove the upper wheel? many thanks !
@@fabry979 I took the upper wheel off just by removing the Allen key bold in center. Comes of easily. The reason was to try and get the rise and fall for the blade guard to be a little better. Was not much in adjustment is what I found out and it was a little fiddly to get back in place so unless you have a problem in that area would leave well alone
Got It. Many thanks for your kind answer
I love my FB 510 but I have to tell you I had to do an awful lot of fiddling around to get the fence square and get the ceramic blade guides square shouldn’t have to do that with what the saws cost.
So I had similar fettling needed to get the ceramics right. Kind of enjoyed learning how to set it up though. Don’t disagree on price they are not budget saws.
@@woodworkgeek i agree I learned a lot about the saw. I also have the K3 and Hammer shaper. Do you run your ceramic guys touching the blades? Their video shows that you’re supposed to do that. I see some guys who do it and some guys who don’t. I run mine touching the blade.
So I use a bit of paper to set up the ceramics at the minute so they are a tiny fraction away from the blade seems to work ok for me right now
