Check out "10 Times The Simpsons Predicted The Future" from our friends at CBR: • 10 Times The Simpsons ...
With the recent release of Matt Groening’s newest show Disenchantment, expectations were high and the hope of a Futurama cameo even higher. There has been a giant, Bender shaped hole in the hearts and TV schedules of Futurama fans ever since the show was cancelled years ago, and again when it was removed from Netflix last year. But with Disenchantment, a classically Groening send up and simultaneous tribute to the fantasy genre, the hope was re-ignited that there might be some cross over between the two shows. And there is actually some evidence to prove that Dreamland, the fictional medieval city in which Disenchantment takes place, could very well belong to the same universe as Futurama! With a mysterious blimp in the first episode, fans began to speculate that there was more to these Dark Ages than meets the eye, and that Dreamland could actually have been built from the ruins of New York City, after it was destroyed by flying saucers in Bender’s Big Score. They wonder if the rest of the world remained in tact, but because of the influence of religion, Dreamland and the future site of New New York remained behind the rest of the developing world. After all, all we have seen in Disenchantment is Dreamland, and nothing outside of its walls so far. It’s possible that the blimp is trying to tell us something much bigger, and that Groening is using the Dark Ages theme as a way to make a political statement about religion versus technology!

Still just a theory until we hear from Confirmo.
I love this comment 😂
Or correcto
😂😂
Rightyo daddyo!
It's going to be episode 11 returning in September, and it will have 10 episodes for series 2
“I'm drowning!"
“I'm Elfo!"
Only true Disenchantment fans will remember this scene
Lol
Hi elfo I am a cat
My favorite scene
also: (looks at bean's unconsious body) died so young
(looks at elfo's unconsious body) Died so short
(looks at luci) ah this one had it coming.
Wow people think my profile pic is a cat DOnT judge mE
This show is the best show ever. Its Simpsons humor with Futurama's sequential story line
Ew imo the Simpsons died a long time ago
@@goduzamaki4118 classic simpsons humor
I’m guessing kind of since Luci said he served the devil back in 2008.
KISO TAWATI he did say that!
Which episode?
KISO TAWATI Actually he said '08, it could be 1708 or 1808, or something in that sense.
Yago yeah I guess you are right
He said "08" that could of been 2008,1908,1808,1708,1608,1508,1408,1308,1208,1108, Etc...
I saw the new show and got to say it’s awesome 👏🏼 hope they will make season 2 and 3
There ar3 no seasons. Only parts
Its basically the same thing
oh they better be...or else...
Part 2 is already in development so at least that's happening for sure
@@juicysparrow5823 that is incorrect seeing as it got picked up for a second season with again 2 parts
Actually the theory that disenchantment is set in a post apocalyptic future has strong proof.
When beanie visited steamland, she was looking for 'farnsworth' street and steamland would end up becoming new new york
Or ya know... could just be a call back for futurama fans
@@mpj759 doubt it
Also the specific set of wires seen in Futurama are seen again in The Electric Princess ep. of part 2. Futurama is definitely connected somehow, and I think this also connects to the Simpsons a bit.
@@edgargarred4319 well I don't doubt it considering that one of the first trailers for disenchantment literally say that it's set in the past
@@mpj759 "The past" is an ambiguous term, They could have meant a medieval setting (which dreamland is).
the king's hair color is similar to Fry's so maybe they're related.
Remember like the first or second episode. The shelves with the wigs on it. You can see Fry's hair
Maybe it's Yancy Fry's distant descendant and Farnsworth's distant ancestor
For those of you who have seen season two, the bender absolutely non discreet major bender reference/easter egg actually gave me goosebumps because it was so good
No one saw season two. It's second part of first season m8.
@Awesome Level It's part two of season one. Netflix renewed the show after part 1 for season two. Find some older articles about it. Maybe they just changed their mind about it.
Anyway this is not first show with screwed season numbering. American Dad is another perfect example.
Tbh it doesn't really matter. The important thing is that next season is coming. :)
ppolda you’re right my bad
That thing in episode 1 was forshadowing the steampunk kingdom in the end of season 2
THE BLIMP CAME BACK IN SEASON 2!!! Very smart
Fry's hairstyle does pop-up in the show
Blimp was steamworld... :(
*Confirmo has not awakened from The Curse of Husho*
I LOVE THIS SHOW
it grows on ya, shitty at first tho XD you would enjoy final space much more as it is just a better show. Very futurama mixed with the heart of something like community.
I agree its awesome
@@MoXy33 final space!
Coming here after seeing both seasons I think the blimp is just a call to Steamland in season 2
1:50 (video stopped) the machine only traveled forward in time but they could be the fry bender and professor from the original time line and this is happening after they saw the new universe start with a new Big Bang
I binged this series it's really good cant wait to see new seasons
Scruffy is king Zog. Just watch the episode when Fry is stuck on Omicron Persei 8. Scruffy says “the elves are back” and has the same mustache.
The humor and characters were largely based on Groenings early work: "Life in Hell". Same sarcastic humor.
I love this cartoon, very underrated
Season two had a huge cliff hanger :(
@Gorilla Glue I know right! So creepy
Also it’s Part 2 not season 2
Kirby Pitbull same thing , really though isn't it.
Really thought all of thoes gremlin things in the end looked like elfo but was rewatching the series the ogre who helped them excape said elfo? After hearing bean say his name when she moved the rock like she knew that name meaning that the ogre was his mom
I saw Fry and professor and bender in the Time Machine like in one of the futurama episodes funny how that clip that you’ve shown in season one of disenchanted I guess the futurama and disenchanted are connected somehow
I think the blimp is the steamship from season 2. Still believe the theory though...
well.. of course
Omg you got this prediction pretty well done. After part 3 you can see Steamland and other things like that. What is going on
Futurama was one of my favorite shows, easily my favorite mature animated comedy, and now watching Disenchantment I have faith in the continuation of this kick ass universe. There doesn't have to be a full crossover. The simple quick sight of Fry, Bender, and Professor Farnsworth is an easy, quick, confermation of them taking place in the same universe(s). I personally don't need anymore (but wouldn't mind it) to make me happy and content with these two shows sharing a universe. Futurama, one of the best. Disenchantment, a kick ass prequel/sequel to it. Love 'em both!
I found the show yesterday night and 10 minutes ago i finished it.
You are the millionth channel to make a video about that theory...
Bean is Leela Elfo is Fry andddddd the Demon (forgot the name) is Bender
Week end it’s Lucy
In benders big score, he is responsible for destroying both New York, and the medieval town... so... Bender should arrive and, actually has to be there in many forms with all the loot...
King zog may actually be fry's ancestor.
because of the ginger hair? 😂
that would mean so is Tiabeanie
I've seen season two and that blimp guess was great!
That blimp probably comes from steamland.
Spoilers:
No.
In the scene where that second prince was trying on wigs if you look at the stand filled with wigs, fry’s hair is one of the wigs
3:00 tht blimp was steamland
WAIT DIDNT THE BLIMP MAKE A COMEBACK IN SEASON 2!!
YES I JUST LOOKED IN THE ELECTRIC PRINCESS EPISSODE
I really loved this show :D
there is the steamland episode, too, so what if dreamland the last developing kingdom in the rebuilding world
So this is basically Matt Groening’s version of Adventure Time.
Thought: Zog and Bender share the same voice actor and Zog makes a "Bite my shiny metal Ass" reference IIRC what if Zog is the inspiration Mom uses for Benders voice? Is that too much of a stretch?
the blimp has come back in season two, so good job
farnsworths time machine only went forward. that means that the sighting of them in disenchantment confirms that its in the future.
Wow. For technology to get so advanced only to go back to being completely primitve again. It's so fascinating!
Except in that episode, time was revealed to be cyclical, meaning it could be in the past either of the 2 new universes that fry, farnsworth, and bender traveled theough
That split second cameo is abso proof. Especially since the time machine didn't move at all except ten feet or so up. So the castle, to the floor, is the same as the futurama workplace.
Did anyone else notice fry’s hair in season one episode 2 at 18:33 minutes left in the top right corner?
This subject needs to be re-discussed since we learn new things about that ship in second part
It has to take place slightly before or after 252525 because the lost city of Cremorra couldn't possibly rise and fall within the span of only a few hundred years.
Omg! The blimp he mentioned shows up towards the end of season 2!!!
I can't wait for season 2
Actually there’s a sign somewhere in the kingdom of dreamland saying since 700 and something so it couldn’t be possible that it’s the future
What happens if elfo is like fry and the giant glass eye monster is laale.
And lucy is like bender with his scatting.
But what is Bean?
I need more seasons 😢
In episode 2 when bean is talking to her new fiancé in the hair salon if you look to your right at the top of the screen you can see frys hair on the manikin
Minute 9
did any one notice the other elf in the sadows that they keep talking about
Well theirs an episode about Hansel and Gretel so I guessing it's in the past
My tehory is elfo is half a humman
disenchantment is the best. i watched the simpson first when it was on the tracy ulman show. furturama was great but disenchantment is on piece of comedy after the other and in less than a half hour a lot happens. great stories, great voices and different societies ....
It's set between old new York and New new York you can see it being built when fry is frozen episode 1. .
Then destroyed by bender...
that is the theory but also no where near enough information to confirm it at this point.
I was thinking the whole time that disenchantment was between present and future when I saw it
This show started off very iffy for me, I watched it cos it was new, but I found myself, never desperate to watch the next episode. But oh boy, by the time the season finished I was thinking "I want to see more." Although the final plot twist kinda became obvious before it was revealed, it was still really fun.
I mean the simpsons took a few seasons to really really hit home.
Count the fingers.
Futurama and simpsons have only 4.
Disenchantment folk have 5.
The blimp is from steampunkland it doesn’t look like the one from futurama one
Another bit of evidence towards the theory when the royal family traveled to dankmeyer bean was at the restaurant writing Her speech and ordered a soda.
There’s time travel in gravity falls. Time travel in futurama, *not* time travel in Rick and morty, and now we’re back in time with disenchantment. Also there are bits of every author in each series here and there. I’m not saying there will be a crossover with gravity falls and disenchantment, but there will be nods to other shows as the creators obviously keep in touch
Season 2 of disenchantment has some of the answeres from this episode of screen rants, but definitely not all of them!
I was thinking it take place between the Simpsons and Futurama because if you recall in the first episode of Futurama there is a medevil civilization after the aliens destroy everything for the first time.
Seems more likely that it is another world or just another time. In Futurama you went from NYC 1999, to medeival times, then back to Futurama time. Why not have this show actually "later" than Futurama?
Predictions of future events PLURAL?
Not surprise by this theory that what I thought of also.
Is everything set on the future now?
Zog ate a carrot that was alive and there are references of a time when earth was ruled by carrots while fry is frozen.
what if its set in that alternate universe created by bender in the film benders game that had a lot medieval fantasy elements and hobbits (hobbo + rabbit = hobbit) :)
Hi
Matt groening and Dan Schneider
Two people I'm glad to be alive with.
It could be set in the far future same universe as Futurama. Or between years 2000 and 3000.
if its set in the past they could do a camio or an easter egg of bender traveling back to there time period to steal a valuable item as a referance to the futurama movie [Benders big score] were he did just that
Bender's Big Score is also a 4 part episode as a part of season 5. I think all the season 5 episodes were the movies in 4 parts.
Hey maybe the blimp is we’re the witches that summoned luci hide
No in episode 8 after they escape from the lost city and have the amulet they pass by the people who handed off luci to bean for her birthday they were dancing happily knowing that the plan was going well and that they were one step closer to "bringing down dreamland" which the final episode shows sadly
now remake this video for season 2 because you were right about the blimp
the time machine was a time machine not a space machine. zoggs castle is built on the site of planet express.
Very possible I mean look where dreamland is placed right beside an ocean just like planet express was right next to an ocean.

Futurama>Disenchantment>Now
Both are our past.
Disenchantment 10/10 now waiting on season two
Could it be set after futurama instead of before
You're right
Luci really reminds me of bender
luci could be bender's soul or something
It’s set between the past and the future.
The time machine can only move forward in that episode.
I thought I was the only one who thought that Futurama was in the same universe!
I. Love. Disenchantment, The. Simpsons, & Futurama.
When all those bender spaceships blowup earth a.k.a. invade earth or whatever. There’s a part where it’s mid evil maybe there?....
There should be a pirate story too
i'm thinking it is set in the future during the thousand years Fry was frozen
Luci has Bender's vibe
How bout a hell yeah, I love disenchantment
OR Disenchantment could be a high tech role-playing game that the Planet Express gang happen to like playing while off-duty.
yea i think i remember an episode of stargate atlantis that was like that.
How would you explain the ruins of old New York not being found
Obladi Oblada it got obliterated by aliens
OBLITERATED
Dingy then how come they can find it in Futurama
Dingy ANSWER ME
Disenchantment is tight
Ok I might seem crazy but read this if you know both shows
Elfo has a crush on bean and in one episode of disenchantment bean says "i like this but as a friend* after eating a elfs leg the joke was to make it seem like she was eating elfo
But in futureama fry has a crush on lela and lela always denies his confessions until the last and final epesode
Lucy is like bender get this
Lucy is non human like bender
Lucy is a awful AWfull example for bean
LIKE BENDER
So my concusion is
ELFO=FRY
BEAN=LELA
LUCY=BENDER
*c0NfIerMEd*
I get what you mean about the similarities they kinda got but what I love about the show it gives me the nostalgia from watching futurama just in a different time and their own thing its neat and I wanna see more
I like this show 📍
just waiting for the rest and more its so so funny
