- So we’ve had a bit over a month to process Disenchantment Part 3 and it’s MANY cliffhangers, so I thought now might be a good time to try and work through another theory I have for the future of the series. So here’s the idea. I think that MAYBE there’s a chance that Luci will become the new ruler of hell. WHAT, HOW, WHY?! Well let’s dive into it.

Considering the way that the show tends to reverse expectations I wouldn't be too surprised if you're on the right track but with the roles reversed. Elfo has already fallen from Heaven which might mean that he will represent Hell while Luci has ascended to Heaven which if he is to return from will leave him the representative of Heaven. Most of my evidence for this is how Luci tends to be a bastard but with actually good intentions and despite declaring himself a selfish bastard continually goes out of his way to be a good friend for Bean being willing to give up immortality. Elfo is nice and cheery on the outside but we've seen him be manipulative, perverted, cowardly, and selfish while repeatedly infringing on Bean's life - like when he interrupted Bean's Viking hookup because he wanted to control her. Both Luci and Elfo have been sent to the place that they've earned as opposed to places that they wanted to go and Elfo is, technically, already a Fallen Angel. We might see Elfo, ruler of Hell and Luci, ruler of Heaven with the name a deliberate red herring to set up suspicion.

mmm no, god wanted Elfo to go to Bean, the message that Elfo gets from Bean in heaven is changed, on P2E1 Beans says "no no no, lets meet in hell the place down below", on P2E2 Elfo hears "Its Bean, lets meet in Hell the place down below", no way thats an error, god also says in that episode "oh Elfo your noble intentions vastly outweighs your swearing"... Noble intentions, whats funny because up to that point i didnt think there was anything noble about Elfo intentions, that made me think there is something more to it... Anyway, god wanted all that to happen. I dont think Elfo is actually banished from heaven, no to mention he also did the ultimate sacrifice on P3 ending, it is just overshadow by Luci, and the fact that we all suspect that the Ogres dont want to kill him, but he does not know that.
You are also not reversing anything, Elfo is written like that on P1, if he ends up being like that its not reversing. We already saw cases of him not being manipulative, selfish, cowardly o perverted on P2 and P3. He is definately improving. I wonder if Bean way to reviving him had any effect on that, i still expect a consequence of that action down the road.
Also if Elfo is bad then Bean choice on P1 makes no sence, Bean will likely have to make that choice again, that action really marked her character.
@@biancamaria2967 elfo would never marry tiabeanie against her will, especially because he's mad in love with her. i also side with shivanSpS on this and think this reverse theory idea is a bad one. there is no way that eflo has any evil within him and for that, he could never rule hell. yeah sure, he was manipulative to beanie with the viking, but he only did that out of sheer jealously.

One more thing that is kind of a stretch to this theory, is that when Luci is singing the lullaby to Zog, he says, "and finally Luci's ruler of all." His song might come true/be foreshadowing, because he also says, "when the king breaks the kingdom will fall," and that kind of happened, with Zog going crazy, and Bean being kidnapped by Dagmar.
I mean this show definitely has allot of foreshadowing so I wouldn't be surprised

@@Johnny2Cellos i could see it! He maybe helps Luci in heaven or hell? Honestly though, I could see Pendergast in heaven due to his protection and care for Zøg when everyone else desires to off him. He was a brave, semi-noble night. I could see him there in heaven
Maybe I'm clutching at straws here, but Elfo literally "fell" from Heaven before Luci might in the next part of the series, and although there's obviously a different spelling, the last syllable of his name, "fo", can combine with "Luci" to make "Lucifo", maybe they somehow represent Hell together? Either of them are capable of being good when they're alone with Bean, but when they're together, they become extremely spiteful, perhaps representative of the two parts making the whole Lucifer?
There was also the bit in part 1 where Bean tried to touch the crystal ball when they thought Oona was assaulting the castle. She tried to touch it and got shocked with the same black electricity.

The irony, one who yearn for high status of hell might become heaven ruler. While one that sacrifice himself from heaven to banish to hell to save his friend become fit for hell

I think you’re missing one of the most obvious hints: Bean is remarkably skilled at getting her fiancés killed. So let’s assume she does that again, that means there will be a new job opening for King of Hell.

I wonder what that creepy crown of Maru stands for / functions as. In the beginning of part II many maruvian ancestors of Bean and Dagmar seem to be wearing it in their portraits.

I think luci may become the first nephelim in the show.
While nephelim are typically made from a human and divine union, it's not farfetched to think that the writers would twist it a little bit and have a being made from both holy and demonic origins.
I'm thinking god may give luci the power of an angel and, possibly when he returns to hell, he'll re-aquire the previous powers he's lost, maybe including the ones he lost rescuing bean and elfo the previous time.

I had to rewatch to see what I got right hahaha, I kinda wrote this one off bc I am not sure I'll be right about the whole Luci angle, but I got some of the other details pretty on the nose!

I think this would make sense since Bean's the new queen of Dreamland and Elfo clearly seems to bare some relation to the Ogre Queen. Maybe they're all destined to take leadership of their respective realms that leads to them saving the Trøgs.

Luci's name may allude to the way that he "illuminates" Bean's way out of long-term personal disaster -- as well as the fact that he's actually *not* so diabolical.

He'll probably fall from heaven, rule hell for like an episode or 2 whilst Elfo and Bean search for him, then they will all go about their usual shenanigans again throughout the season till another cliffhanger ending
Our main characters have done pretty well to create a large number of allies for the inevitable war to come - Maru, Steamland, and the Gnomes vs Dreamland, Mermaid Islands, Trogs, Fairyland and Ogres. Meanwhile Heaven and Hell may or may not get involved. I can't believe how excited I am for the future of this show. It started out a bit lackluster, but now that there are so many characters in place (like Oona/Derek/Slimey), I can't wait to see what happens next.
I would not put maru on the List. I think Steamland, Bendwood and the Gnomes plus Hell seams more sesonible.
I like these theories and how they always bring something back later in the show from a previous episode like a throw away appearance. Like the cursed puppet store is shown in the very first episode, you can see one of the troggs in the viking episodes and there are symbols on the walls that they always come back to as well. Im really curious about what they will do about all the rats, seeing as there are ratholes everywhere even with special entrances and we can even see a rat kingdom in the third season. I also think that Elfos mom might have been an ogre seeing as the ogres recognize Elfos name, his dad says they both have a taste for larger women and in the third season they come only to take Elfo with them.
Are we ever gonna have an answer to who shot Elfo?

I am under the impression that the story is actually setting up fo Luci to eventually take God’s place in heaven. Lucifer, biblically, was cast out from heaven, just as Luci was later cast out from hell as a demon. hence why he loses his demonic abilities after rescuing Bean and Elfo from hell. Since hell will no longer take Luci, when he dies trying to save bean, heaven is the only place he could go in the after life. He also does make reference that heaven appears to be his own personal hell by design.
I can see this playing out as Bean becoming the ruler of hell and elfo uniting, or at least helping to unit, many of the other races the world has.
Bean is already destined to go to hell to marry its ruler. Bean being Bean will most likely find a way to have the ruler killed, either by purpose or accident as we have seen in many past episodes. She also appears to have no problem scaring even demons in hell, like the guards when Bean and Luci get to the gate. Torturing and creating pain appears to come easy to her, like the episode with Hanzel & Gretel or when she almost kills the elf when the trio first get to elfwood. Whether she tries to or not a lot of people either end up hurt/dead or in a worse position then before they met her. See the vikings, both men she was to marry, elfo’s death, zog, Luci, etc.
I watch Disenchantment with my 8 year old daughter and she loves trying to find secret meanings in each episode. After she makes her own guesses I bring her here and we watch your videos, cant wait to show her this one when she gets up. Cant wait to see more!
There was also a lightning magic spark when Bean tried to ask the fortune teller ball a question.
Elfo is ban from Heaven for insulting Gerry
One thing, the Maruvian eye symbol that looks like hell’s demons is on the door to the infernal stronghold, which I’m sure was one of the key slots, such as luci’s tail. This is not to disprove or improve the theory. Great theory, by the way!
Don't forget Bean using the crystal ball in the first season!
In reference to 4:30, you also see the magic used when she uses the orb and Dagmar pulls her away before it goes fires off to completion.

What about the card prophecy.
I have theory. What if dagmar is actually Lilith herself. How is she Lilith well think of it. how is she the only one in her family who survived the explosion, teleport to luci and kidnap him to take him back to Maru, access to a elevator that leads to hell and containing information that I think her siblings don’t know like the trogs and the wedding in hell.

I can see a scenario where, if Luci rules hell, he could end up as the "recipient" of Bean's contract.
*SEASON 4 SPOILERS*
This theory has been lightly disproven. Luci does indeed descend from Heaven to Hell with Jerry in order to save Bean, but he obviously didn't take over, and he only gets wings after drinking the Trog goo. At the end of Season 4, in the after-credits scene, it seems like Satan might be looking to take over Dreamland. Also, the "contract" specified that it had to be the Queen of Dreamland that married the Devil.
This could happen, and maybe this was Satan's plan all along, since Dreamland seems to have some sort of ability to amplify dreams. It could be that the contract was made, and Dagmar knew she had to make it so her daughter became Queen of Dreamland. So she seduced Zog, had a daughter, and then tried to kill Zog so that Bean would ascend the throne.
Anyways, just some info based on Part 4. Great theory!
since Satan is married to Dagmar and thus becoming an antagonist, i wonder what would happen to him in the end
I think all 3 characters are contradictions uniting opposites. Bean is born of the cursed (those made meek by magic) and the wicked (those whom attained magic through selfish means), Elfo is Elf (isolated by pacifism, also applies to the Trog, which he also represents) and Ogre (isolated by their aggression towards others), and Luci can unite heaven and hell, having always been blurring the lines between doing right and wrong.
It would be funny that god gives back his powers to lucy and allows him to go back to hell for later take over, but says that if some one asks he was banished.

Disenchantment theories are loads of fun to think about! I just hope they can surprise us without taking really dumb choices that don't fit the characters like GOT did.

Long shot but hear me out. The scene where Elfo, Luci and Bean are seen as the saviours. There is this symbol in the background (Triangle at the top, square at the base and 2 half round rectangles in the center).
So, the top resembles Elfo (looks like his hat). The half round rectangles represent Bean (her buck teeth) and the base resembles Luci (in the weird key-hole shapes symbol? - don't really know how you add Luci in to it else). So again Heaven - Earth - Hell.

I think Bean will just refuse to the marriage. Her ancestors made the deal not her, she's been consistent in running from and rejecting the political marriages set up for her by Zog. And if the groom is whom we are assuming it is based on the silhouette he's oddly keen on the idea of Bean coming to him willingly and consenting. Yeah he sent his guards after her, I don't know it's just there and it be a nice change.
Thats what i think as well, but remember that most of all, Bean wants both Luci and Elfo to be returned to her, they may actually use that to force her hand.

Though luci might manipulate his way back to Bean go from personal demon to guardian angel. If Bean escapes on her own then Daddy elfo might tell them the truth AT LAST to reassure them that elfo is safe, for the most part.
@@LadyBern Dagmar would do that for sure. But i dont think it is going to happen in the end, something is going to interrupt that, my cards are with Luci right now, my 2nd choice is Miri. But rest assured that they cant force Bean into anything, there is always free will in infernal pacts and dealings with the Devil, i dont think it will be any diferent here. So they are going to use that to trick Bean into accepting.
As for the rest, i think Luci knows that Elfo is in no danger, i think Pops did tell him who his mother was, and he is keeping the secret for some reason. If you look when Elfo jumps out the window, Luci was in a position to see it all, he definately saw Elfo getting on the window and said nothing.
And right now Bean is in no position to do what Zog did and go on a crusade to find Elfo with all the internal enemys she has right now, if she has learned something from his father mistakes, she will let it go.
@@shivanSpS I hope she lets it go to respect elfo's sacrifice. Though I sorta like how it reflects on what happened at the end of season 1 and start is season 2. Elfo sorta held a grudge against Bean for choosing to sacrifice his life (and we saw see where that went and how for her he left heaven), but this time he chooses to surrender himself for the greater good of Dreamland.
@@LadyBern its not going to be easy Bean has very strong attachment to Elfo. But i think Elfo needs some time away from her, its going to be good for him un the long run
If luci becomes ruler at some point, they would all three be considered royalty.
Side note, only just noticed while watching this; every single Maruvian portrait appears to have a crown with the metal screws mounted inside.

Just watched it. In disenchantment, there are some really smart criticism. I.e, when they go to hell to find elfo and look for the book of the dead, bean said "surprisingly large number of popes". The show is hidden with these kinds of jokes. In my opinion, Alva could be the devil. As in real life, science or stience is considered as a great sin, since it gives people a chance to evolve. Also, Alva has a crush(!) on bean, and if he is the devil, he might use her to get the total control of earth. According to my theory, he is the ruler of the hell, which means he and bean together can run both realms and fight against god, which is the ruler of the third realm (heaven) as you stated.

I hope @Johnny 2 Cellos sees this. At the end of Season 3 Luci says 'I don't know why you always bring out the good have in me Bean' or something along those lines. Lucifer was an angel so that could be the 'good half'. Also God says he's the first demon to ever 'earn' their place in heaven. It's like Lucifer 'earned' his place back into heaven. He also stayed beside God the entire time he was in heaven which would only be expected from someone special. Also, Jerry appealed to God and stayed by his side whereas Luci was just being an ass so there might be something special about him apart from just being a demon.
