bite my shiny metal axe made me really happy
Yeah I screamed with jubilation when he said it
Sane
Same x
I was super happy also!
Loved it so much and I even tried messaging john DiMaggio on insta to tell him how ecstatic I was.
Man I miss Futurama. That show was great.
Yeah i don't know why people hated yet.
You can still watch it on hulu
Snowball wait people hated futurama?
IS GREAT
I really miss it.It was a great show.
Not gonna lie: I was DYING when they did the assorted lengths of wire nod. Such a small thing that will go over the heads of so many people but I absolutely loved it.
Only a true Futurama fan would catch it such nerds we are but proud of it
Couldn't have said it any better myself!!!!
I have a drawer of assorted wires also
I went ecstatic when I saw that and my girl thought I was nuts. I knew what it was instantly and my heart was happy lmao
I really think that queen Dagmar is a relative of Mom. Jerry reminds me of Ignar.
Whoa. That could like work tho....
Queen oona has the voice of mom though soooo its confusing.
but the lady with the purple gown and black makeup she the voice of mom
Also in “Love’s Slimy Embrace”, the capitain of the party barge, voiced by the same voice actor as Scruffy the Janitor, is introduced lying in a hammock leaving through a book, just as Scruffy was. Same mustache as well.
The hallucination when bean and elfo were on a drug trip looked like. The portrait of a cyclops from season 2 episode 22 "a bicyclops for two".
Luci also references the Hyper-Chicken lawyer from Futurama in the court case in the finale of season 2 with "Ladies and Gentlemen, I may just be a simple country cat-" etc.
Well that’s mainly a matloc/unfrozen caveman lawyer reference but yeah neat
_did you say ... extra crispy recipe?_
@@Jesse__H You know they didn't
Oh, the "assorted lengths of wire" joke. That's some good nostalgia, right there 😂😂😂
You missed one the crown on king zogs head. The crown has the same antenna like bender, to show that DiMaggio voice the same character
Yeah. It even makes a BOING sound like Benders.
Yeah I did notice that, I guess I just never really felt like it was an actual nod to Bender, though it very well could be! Such a small aesthetic choice, but I guess I should have included it!
Johnny 2 Cellos please note that I episode 17 when they go under water the one eyed corpse head is a reference for when the go get benders ass
"Gunderson's Nuts"
They're nuts so good!
what about whe elfo is in heaven you see a dog that looks like Frys dog or am i the only one that saw that?
Just saw that today!
As for the shared universe theory, it's my thought that the Disenchantment series takes place in the medieval timeframe in between when Fry is initially frozen and when Futurama takes place.
Back when Matt Groening, the creator of both series, was a complete unknown, he did a comic strip for independent newspapers called "Life in Hell". This strip established the art aesthetic which is Groening's signature to this day. The Disenchantment characters, tiny Vip and Vap were a gay couple in that comic.
Can’t we just have more Futurama? 🤷🏻♂️
Pple stopped watching it that y no more shows
John I bet more people watched it than watch Disenchanted...
Maybe that's what Disenchantment is leading up to? That'd be a neat little trick they could pull
Evolution Inc. perhaps? Even so I’d much rather have another couple of series of Futurama - come on Netflix, get all the series uploaded, see the popularity and write Matt G a big cheque...!
Paul Brownlee %100 throw as much money as humanly possible at Groening and co for both more Disenchantment and new content. Don’t know about resurrecting Futurama though, I absolutely love Futurama but it kinda ran it’s course. I’d rather have Groening tackle new settings, leave the space comedy to Rick and morty.
When the King said "Let's go alreadyyyyy" I screamed out Bender. It made me so happy 😊
In the court scene in part 20, Luci says "I may just be a simple country cat". I know this is originally a reference to something else (sorry I forgot what) but it also parallels the lawyer chicken from Futurama
Matlock, I think.
You’ll catch luci briefly in last simpsons treehouse of horror, when Lisa finally snaps! 😂 😉
Bender actually says bite my shiny metal axe in season 10 of futurama while they were being firemen and saving people from the sun
It might just be me but one of the buildings in Steamland kinda looked like the Planet Express building
YES I saw that too
me too
I have a theory that disenchantment is set after fry got frozen, and before nnyc.
I say this becuase of season twos steampunk episode.
We know that civilization was destroyed a couple of times while fry was frozen, so that makes perfect sense
@@Fishbiene Yup, with one of the lands that was rebuilt being a kingdom before it got shot down again.
One of the most interesting implications of the Bender, Fry, and Farnsworth time traveling cameo is that Dreamland would be located in New York, since Farnsworth's time machine didn't move.
So is Disenchantment set in the future the past or both? Farnsworths machine only goes forward but it could be looped around and in the past or a future just past when those enlightened little dudes were around and maybe they became the elves?
I didn't even notice the airship in the first episode LoL awesome.
The drawer of wires is my favourite reference, for some bizare reason :D
Other visual references form Futurama: The scaffolding around the tower on the castle is the same shape as the tower on the Planet Express building. The rest of the building can be seen in the buttress of the city wall in the episode "Love's Slimy Embrace". When the scene where Derek meets Slimy cuts to an establishing shot of the city, it is in the far left side of the screen. They obviously used the same ray-frames form Futurama and put new textures over them to make the new building structures.
Smashing the bugs with a hammer is a got reference
You mean GoT reference.
Time Machine from Late Phillip J. Fry: *Appears in Disenchantment*
Everyone: Theori?
1:16 Fun fact: Bender actually said bite my shiny metal axe in Futurama. This makes it even cooler XD
I like to think the show is like a post apocalypse way after futurerama. With Farnsworth being famous enough to have a place named after him and sky having his own wire drawer
In "the electric princess" there's another reference. When bean is in the middle of the road, she runs into a knight in a metal horse.
The knight asks bean if she can help her and bean said she's looking door "Farnsworth boulevard". The knight then says it's in the "Transpo district" witch is a reference to futurama as well
How to make changing history safe
1. Invent time machine.
2. Travel to the 23rd century.
3. Invent a machine that can change the probability in the 23rd century.
4. Use probability machine to make the probability certain that time travellers changes to history are only changes.
Remember, in Space Pilot 3000, during the scene where fry "travels" through time, you can see a medieval setting being built but then later being destroyed by ufos, implying that futurama and disenchantment can take place in the same universe
This video made me so happy ❤️
Sky's last name Gunderson is a Futurama reference as well. In a couple of Futurama episodes they're sponsored by Gunderson's Unshelled Nuts
"Gunderson" is also a reference, itself. Gunderson's Unshelled Nuts! Mmm! It's NUT so good!
Without help, I caught the references at 1:01, 1:17 (easily the most obvious. It's impossible to miss it if you've ever watched Futurama), 2:34, 3:11
Great job! Let me know if ya catch any more!
Ah yes futurama my childhood. My brother and I would watch it on sleepovers when we’re were like 6-7
Your video made me happy. Thank you.
You can see what looks a lot like the top of the planet express building in the electric princess if you pause at exactly 18:00 and look at the middle.
Very well done video, no bs time-running content.
Ayy thanks man. I try my best to get my stuff out in a concise package. If my videos run long it's because I have a lot to say haha
The boat guy looked exactly like scruffy when he was laying in a hammock
voiced by scruffy's VA too.
Its a small one but if you look at king Zog's crown it appears to have benders antenna at the top and at some point in the play it makes the same sound that benders makes when he's suprised.
great video! :D
Thanks!
Lrrr literally says "You should have aimed where I was going, not where I was" or something when he lands successfully because Fry's older brother always beat the last level.
It sucks that Futurama is gone, but it did have two pretty good runs although underappreciated runs and are now more appreciated than ever. At least it didn't grow stale like The Simpsons.
And I'm happy we have Disenchantment. Fun series indeed.
Love your videos mate
Ayyy love your comments!
Thanks, gotta lot of laughs from this show!
In s03 e9. In the puppet shop there´s a puppet that looks like bender in the upper right behind the counter
The makers of the Groening shows are big into math and numbers. You might want to look for numerical similarities such as Bender’s serial number, street addresses, etc.
I thought the dummy guy smashing bugs was a reference to tyrion and jaime's conversation about his doofus cousin who also smited insects.
I thought it was a reference to the stupid guy from Futurama, Igner or whatever
I always thought the little antenna looking thing off dogs crown was similar to benders actual antenna just a thought boss great video!
Also Farnsworth Blvd is in the "Transpo district", so likely he is also in the delivery service like the professor. His job was to deliver a weapon after all.
Great point!
I watched this CZcams vid while rewatching Disenchantment Part 2 for the 3rd time. =P
I'm proud that I knew all of these before watching. But also, I find this Johnny tuber kinda attractive ;D
Not just physically, but because of his social ability and his shared interest in one of my enjoyed shows.
Let’s go already!
The way the washmaster chanted was the same throaty way the native martians did from Amy's family planet
We need a cross over for disenchanted with simpsons and futarama
Thank you!
Cool video mate now a subscriber lol😁👍
I love how it turns out Disenchantment take splace in the far future
There was a building that was the Planet Express in the episode where she goes to Steamland!!
When beans in her moms old room the chandelier kinda looks like a UFO
Might be a long shot, but the futurama holiday clip show episode was in-universe sponsored by Gunderson's unshelled nuts. I'm assuming the use of Gunderson is a reference to that.
Netflix need throw as much money as humanly possible at Groening and co for both more Disenchantment and to create new content. Always gold no matter the series. I didn't realise there was so many references to Futurama hidden though, I caught a few but missed obvious ones like Lucy/Bender ascending from hell. Oh well, just an excuse to watch both series again 😂
Another reference is in part 2 where you can see an elf as a leprechaun that has fry’s hair
Leela in season 4 EP 2 steps past the "couple" neptunians and says "out of my way Shrimpo" Shrimpo is the name of one of the elves in disenchantment.
If I am not mistaken isnt the Gunderson's Nuts thing from later episodes referenced in the Steamland workshops name itself? I believe the being named Gunderson Airships is a direct reference in itself to the Gunderson's Nuts advertisement gags from 1 or 2 episodes.
There Is an episode were Bean and her mother walk by the street and Bean asks if a certain man Is a flame spitter and dragma says, no he Is just a drunk, and the man who looks a too much like bender burps with a blast of fire.
I think you miss the most important easter egg from futurama. The Fry of this paralel universe, you can see him in 1x01 , at 3:16 in the left side of the screen. You can saw him again in 1x06 at 0:34, and 2x10 at 24:04
What about Gunderson airships and Gundersons nuts from the Futurama Xmas episodes?
In Ch 19, there’s a city shot while Bean is traveling to the Gunderson shop, and you can see a red building modeled after the Planet Express building
Also Gunderson's Airships.
In one of the Futurama holiday episodes there was a company called "Gunderson's nuts".
I've wondered if Disenchantment is actually "Future - Futurama" IE. it is set on Earth sometime further down the timeline where the modern society has collapsed (again) but this time after "Science" had invented what is basically "Magic".
Probably sometime after the year 252525.
;)
I wrote a whole video about this on my old show at Nerdist “Animation Investigation” you should check it out!
You haven't said about when you see nibbler in the back round when you see king Zog is being taken away too see chazz. You can see him on top of the castle walls.
i think you missed when elfo had put on the sailor suit it looks almost exactly like nibblers sailor uniform with the colors same just swapped
I remember some of these when I was watching the series
Future Rama and disenchantment are in the same universe idk about simpons and family guy but I do think that the girl with the ornage hair is the ancestor of the main character in future Rama it’s just a couple a 200+ years ago
You missed in episode 2 in Big Joe’s exorcism he ends it with “server diem mendata” the same lines used to revive calculon
Let's go already
You missed the time machine with fry bender and the professor showing up in the last episode of season 1 along with frys hair in an earlier episode
Right after the spelling one luci kinda acts like the chicken lawyer from futurama
I love this show
Dude!!! I've never noticed these simularities before or cameos or w/ I'm a Huge Futurama fan, have the planet ex ship on my arm. Discenchantment is not my favorite show but I appreciate it. Even though I feel the Creators are dead wrong when they said "This is the end" in regards to Futuramas final cancelation. Yes some of the later seasons werent as good as previous seasons but I feel the Creators didnt make a move that could have helped. The Comic Book Series. I believe its still being run and if you ever read one yourself (like the Simpson Comic Book Series) there is a lot of great material there. Aditionally I believe they had different writers for the Comic Book. Many time I told myself... "I can see the episode even though there in panel form". But those are just my thoughts I believe we have one last run left in the Futurama Franchise. Maybe Hulu will see it and the creators will just okay and give it to us as fans to create
also the airship guys name is 'skybert' which is probably a nod to hubert
Futurama is the best I want it back on TV. Greetings from Slovenia east europe
The prongs on the Kings crown remind me of Benders antenna.
In the second season. Bean makes an expression how fry does when. He says take my money.
Una wants to be a single amphibian lawer
edith the fortune teller in season 3 episode 5 reminded me of a robot-fortune-teller from futurama
There's a Leprechaun named Seamus in "The Lonely Heart is a Hunter" at like 22 minutes that looks EXACTLY like Fry, only thing that would have made it better is if instead of a 4 leaf clover it was a 7 leaf clover.
Gundersons nuts
In episode 12 of Disenchantment God reads a quote on Elfo’s graffiti that says, “do this do that, blah blah blah!” Which is something Homer said in one of the 650+ Simpsons episodes.
Courtroom, Lucy says something along the lines of “I may be a simple country demon”, like the chicken from Futurama
the wig of frys hair when bean us gonna fake marry guysbert
The wig next to Fry's could be Leela's hair out of a ponytail?
The used boats sales man kinda reminded me of zapp. He had the same tone and then when the how to the ork village it resembles the Amazonian women so much.
Gunderson airships is a Easter egg to Gil Gunderson from the Simpsons
Thungo Bungo also remember the Christmas special sponsored by Gundersoms nuts in futuramma
Bite my shiny metal axe and lets go already made me happy
John DiMaggio was the voice actor of Sal in Futurama, who said to Fry in Episode 2, "Wise guy, huh? If I wasn't so lazy, I'd punch you in the stomach." In Episode 3 of Disenchantment, King Zod (also voiced by John DiMaggio) doesn't have the energy to scold Bean. He tells one of his servants to scold bean in his place. The servant, speaking for King Zod, says "Why you! I oughta! If I weren't so fat, I'd-", before getting interrupted by Zod. This may be a loose reference to Sal. Though it could also be a coincidence.
Expanding Brain
They're just easter eggs
Disenchantment takes place in the 24th-25th century between Bender's flying suacers and the coming of Zombie Jesus
Disenchantment takes place during the actual medieval period
Disenchantment takes place in the 252525 or 1000000 and a half medieval-like scene in "The Late Philip J Fry"
*it's set in Cornwood*
What is Disenchantment is the future “medieval” period we see in the background why Fry is frozen and it fast forwards 1000 years.
