Well James, it’s great to have you back amidst your chaos at home! You have been deeply missed by the CZcams community. Please keep them coming 👍
Cheers David! Appreciate it!! 🙌🙌🙌
Great vid again! Thank you for the credits James! Glad our talk helped you with your choice for the steering wheel re-trim. Have a great weekend! Rene
🙌👍
Welcome to the wonderful world of Porsche Grace. Your dad is a genius.
Thanks Werner!! 🙌🙌
Hi James, CONGRATULATIONS with you and your wife’s newest addition to your family: Grace! Beautiful name, never goes out of fashion. I think we all understand you’re lagging with new content for ‘our channel’. Family comes first, always. I can’t see any ‘bumpers’ under your eyes, yet. So I figure you’re doing great, sleep-wise. Again, congrats James, also for Ruthie! Cheers, Irwin 🦅
Thanks so much Irwin!! Hope all’s well with you. Cheers! 🙌🤩
APPROVED! And congratulation with family increase 😀
Hahah. Thanks Trond!
Congrats on your new baby!
Thank you mate!!
Your new look front end will look fab
Cheers mate!
It’s amazing to me how similar the assembly/ disassembly is between the 991, 997, and 996. Virtually identical process for my 996.
That’s right!!
Firstly, congratulations on your latest edition to the family!
This is going to look just the part, looking forward to seeing the finished job 👍
Cheers Clive, appreciate it!!!
You don't have to remove the screw behind the side marker lights to remove the bumper. Also the two side radiator ducts (condenser covers ) behind the bumper are different for the sport bumper.
Wow congrats on the addition to the family. The aerokit is always a must. Loved it on my 997.
Thanks so much!
Congratulations on the new baby girl mate
Thanks Jeremy!!
Great video! So much details and learned a lot! Thanks for sharing, cheers 🙌🏻💙
Glad it was helpful! Thanks!!
Another great vid my man! Great work taking this one on. Reckon the result will be sweet!
Cheers Andy!! 🙌
3 under 4 qualifies as hero status in my book, welcome Gracie.
Nice project, looking forward to seeing it compleat.
Have you ever seen Nick Murray with dirty hands, he’s missing out on so much fun.
Thanks for the share J. Nicely done there! And have to say the Aero bumper does look at home...
Thanks!
wow!!! Congrats James!!! All the best for her!!! Little Baby!!!👶🏻
Haha. Thank you!
Awesome vid! I’ve been contemplating doing the same. Looking forward to the follow up dude 👍🏿.
Cheers Dan!!
Ok, we need to start a "Garage AC" Go Fund Me page before James melts this summer, he's got a wife and 3 kids to support. LOL
Hahahahaha. I like the sound of that!
Always enjoy the content
Thank you!
Great mods
Loved the video, liked the saving, also I am about 1.5 hour from the place that you sent the steering wheel, thanks for the information, looking forward to do the same to mine.
Cheers Jorge!!
Hi James, always enjoy watch your content / struggles! I've also used RSW in the past for my old 997 wheel, great quality work.
By coincidence, I also own a 991.1 C2(S) in Agate Grey! You will need different radiator shrouds to make the fit look factory and I would highly recommend removing the shrouds and loosening the condensers to clean all the crap out, that will rot them otherwise.
BTW the torx bit fixing behind the side marker that was challenging you, does not need to be removed in order to get the bumper off!
Look forward to seeing how you progress! Best, Tony.
Aha!! Thanks Tony, appreciate it! I have the radiator covers on order along with the rest of the trim pieces. I found them online for about $50 each.
WTH, CZcams!? No notifications!!! Congrats to you and Ruthie on the new little girl!! Exciting stuff!
Cheers mate! Appreciate it! Hope all’s well with you.
@@AutoAmateurYes!! Trying to get my long term owned Cobra ready to sell so I can jump into the 911 market, but these prices are insane lately. Going to really have to expand my parameters to join the club. Going to have to look at 997.1s instead of only .2s and make an allowance for higher mileage example. The difference a year makes! A year and a global pandemic...😷
James, I love the front bumper it's going to completely change the look of your car. Side note I sold my 997 looking for a 991 and ended up with a 993 lol
No way!! Photos please!!
@@AutoAmateur sure always ready to send pics lol, where did you want me to send them to you?
You should look at design911 rear spoilers adds a little lip which adds just a little more flare without spoiling that factory look.
Very nice, I just finished this swap a few days ago.
Oh cool! Well done. Would you mind sharing some before and after photos for me please to contact@autoamateur.com ?? Cheers!
@@AutoAmateur Most definitely
consider using your old tow hook cover and having it painted - going to look great!
Great Video I wanna do it too!
Haha. Awesome Kai!! Hope you enjoy this series of videos.
The bumper upgrade is great. Look forward to seeing it finished. Have you thought about a tow hook (which I prefer) or license plate holder (not sure of your laws in Mn) instead of the cap?
I think I'll just go for the clean look at the front, but I should get myself a red tow hook to match the red inside my car, just for kicks. :)
Everton blue James- get spraying 🤣🤣🤣
Congratulations on the new family member my friend. If you would like I just bought the aero front bumper from Porsche if you would like to see all the extra part you need I will be happy to send you pictures or a video. I’m very excited about your project.
Cheers Mark and YES PLEASE!!! Photos would be most appreciated. Contact@autoamateur.com 👍
Instead if buying new slates for the bumper, see if you can buy a grill screens to put in its place, like a GT3. I think that would look awesome.
That’s a great idea!! I actually have some grill screens coming but I didn’t think about installing them on their own without the slats. I could do that and see how they look. Great suggestion!
I am looking at your videos, and noticed the interest in glass and spoilers. You should look at GT Racing out of Colorado. Hank Godfredson of Nord Stern bought it and now his kids are running it. They only ship first class glass, the prices are reasonable.
Very cool, thanks for the pointer!
Fabulous as usual why don't you do a vid about the hack for daytime running display on the instrument dials with lights set on auto, there is one
I’m all ears! Send me a link or some details??
Great vid as always👍 you going to sell your existing bumper or keep it?
I’ll probably sell it, so it’s not taking up space in my garage.
A girl LOL
God bless you and your family
Congrats on Gracie!! 3 kids under 4? Ya know they do make Johnnies. ;-) I'm puzzled why you would go through all of that work just to save a couple of bucks. When you factor in your time repairing, prepping for paint , searching and ordering, you're not really saving that much. An all inclusive kit would be the way to go IMHO. Again, congrats to you and Ruthie.
Cheers mate!! Haha. Well, it’s definitely johnnies or the big snip from now on. We’re done. No more kids. 🤣 You ask a good question. I’m just as excited to work on this used bumper and bring it back to life, as I am to see the finished product.
@@AutoAmateur It's all about the journey. I'm contemplating the GT3 front cover from Sun Coast for my 997.1 Cab. It's about a grand cheaper than your 991, so you may be on to something. Looking forward to your progress in between the garage and midnight feedings!! ;-) Cheers
Hey James, any get-together drives coming up?
Good reminder! Yes!! Watch the P&P Facebook page for details.
@@AutoAmateur P&P?
Are you in your garage or in front of a picture of your garage in the background?
🤣🤣 What makes you ask that?!
Interesting videos, are yyou english? Germans and americans pronounce it as a two syllable word. Por sha. Are you a member of PCA, if not you should join. It would be nice t see some older Porsches in your tours. I assume that you must live in the Lake Minnetonka area, and if you get back to the nw suburbs let me know.
Hey Mark! Yes, from Liverpool. I’m a Brit living in Minnesota. I’m a member of PCA and Nord Stern but I don’t often get the opportunity to come out for NS events. Presumably you’re in the twin cities too??
Merci b!
Have you one for a quickjack for me?
