Good thinking about both the holsters twin snap retention onto your belt and especially the thumb break. Your thinking is right, I've seen more than one pistol flop to the deck. There are not enough thumb break holsters on the market today.
If you ever fall onto your back , it’s a pretty good chance of having a spinal injury. In addition you lose control over your firearm in that position.
