I was going to buy a commander size 1911 with the fancy new hogue g10 grips. The grips just look so good and modern and I wanted to have a gun with g10 grips in my collection. Then I saw hogue made the grips for my P239. So I bought the piranha g10 grips in gray/black. Let me tell you…these grips made me fall in love with the P239 all over again. The color of the grips is actually like a gray with hint of blue and light brown. It’s mesmerizing. The piranha texture is such an awesome feeling in the hand. I might say perfection, but the downside is the front of the gun grip is exposed and the small lines the P239 has on the front strap are not checkered so I think wraparound grips might have been perfection. In any case, the true downside of the grips is the price, at $90 these grips are definitely expensive. In my personal case, the price was justified because I’ll get to use my trusted and true P239 more often and that’s way cheaper than buying a new gun altogether. The P239 looks like a work of art with the new grips. It has jumped up to possibly one of the best looking handguns I have ever owned.

I've saw those grips and they look amazing. They give the 239 a great makeover and I've heard they feel great in the hand. You'll get years more enjoyment out of that pistol.

I have the P239 in .40 Caliber that I bought back in the 90’s when it came out. I also got Sigs .357 barrel to convert to shoot their Sig .357 ammo. I’ve had it all these years and haven’t shot the .357 yet. I’m planning to het the Sig .357 caliber and go to the range soon.

Heck yeah! Having 2 calibers with just a barrel swap is awesome. Both of those rounds are serious business too. Thanks for sharing and hope you get to enjoy that range day soon.

And I have 3 boxes of the Winchester Black Talon in .40 caliber from the time when they first came out and later were taken off the market and made available only to law enforcement.

I have an old S&W 6904 9mm. It is a double/ single pistol from yesterday year. I carry it every once in a while with its 10÷1 mags. It's heavy but comforting.

Heck yeah. I like those older smith's. I feel the same about the 239. It's heavy and doesn't have great capacity but I sure feel safe with it.

I agree, a great handgun and one of my absolute fav’s. Too bad Sig let it go.. I’d buy another one tomorrow if I happened along a spare $1100 and found one in the store.. This gun and the P7 are two of the greatest “smaller” 9mm’s ever made.

Yep. A lot of great pistols are falling out of favor due to capacity. That's a dang shame. But it does give guys like us a chance to save some money, and hey, at least our dogs can't chew our guns up. Lol

@@573reviewstrue, but amongst all of the K, L, N frames, P210 (another iconic 9mm), P226, Combat Commanders, SAA Colts and Rugers, P220 (.45 AND 10mm), and various .22’s I own, I do have a 19 MOS and a 43x. Guess what I typically carry ? With a Shield Arms 15 round flush fit mag, a 43x is a damn good carry gun. My favorite handgun ? Smith and Wesson 52-2, long gone from their line. I’ve got a couple, but I am planning a boat trip real soon.

@Yoda052 I'd be lying if I said I wasn't a little jealous of that lineup. You naned off more than a couple that are iconic. Be safe on the boat trip.
