    Great job on this young beretta! I prefer the PPQ over the VP9. But, both are world class. As far as take up on the PPQ trigger, I don't mind it as it acts like a safety feature for that first shot.....then nothing but short resets and crisp, light pulls until the mag is empty. It is equal to my P226 and P229 accuracy wise, that is to say, EXCELLENT. Keep it up bro!

    I believe you should buy firearms that have similar controls, in comparison Glock and the PPQ M2 have similar mag releases, if you train with one type of firearm its best to stick with firearms that have similar controls, in a stressful situation that could mean the difference between life or death! If you pull the mag out of each firearm and turn each firearm upside down you will see a major difference, the polymer walls are considerably thicker on the grip of the PPQ around the magwell as where HK seems to have skimped in that area, yet the PPQ is slightly is lighter. The PPQ M2 uses 15rd or 15+2rd factory mags, VP9 has 15rd capacity. More welds are visible on the VP9. The locking block area of the VP9 is clearly stamped and welded at the seams. The PPQ uses a solid, one piece machined locking block for their system, additionally, the VP9 uses a number of spot welds to attach its components. The Slide Release shows the first of these welds at the joint. The PPQ M2 uses a bolt. There is a lot more going on in the guts of the VP9 trigger system, there is twisted wire inside attached to the trigger bar as where the PPQ uses a much simpler Glock like design and much more end user friendly to work on. VP9 is a bit "blocker" than the PPQ M2 so I think the PPQ M2 has a sleeker design. The PPQ M2 rear sight has a shelf so if you lose the use of one hand you can use it to rack the slide with a finger or against a surface instead of the "ear" system that the VP9 uses which can get hung -up on edges.
    VP9 cost slightly more than the PPQ M2. While I'm not dissing the VP9, IMO the PPQ seems to be a bit better quality and overall engineered a bit better. If you need to have something major done to the HK good luck finding a certified HK gunsmith. Both are made in Germany and are fine reliable handguns though. Thats my two cents...

    Good review! I can't comment on the VP9, but I think you're spot-on with your PPQ comments. I'm more into 1911s and all-steel guns now, but my PPQ still puts a smile on my face when I take it out.

    I too have both guns and prefer the HK. The HK is made better, is tighter and has a nicer finish. The PPQ is an awesome gun as well, but for me, mine had several malfunctions on it's first day at the range. Using Winchester white box, had at least 3 lite strikes, and twice it failed to go in to battery after releasing the slide. Break in period? Who knows? it has been fine since. Also, be leery of too lite a trigger. On more than one occasion I accidentally double tapped it! The reset and trigger is so lite that you have to be very aware of your trigger finger until you get used to it. The HK trigger is perfect,,,not too light, not to hard. The PPQ also, in my opinion, still needs some work on the mag release. My first day out, I depressed the mag release a few times while aiming the gun...there is not much room for your fingers. Both guns are tack drivers, but the HK feels like better quality. The grip on the PPQ is awesome! it feels a tad better than the HK despite not having removable side panels. My verdict: Two awesome guns, that are incredibly accurate,look the part, and feel great in the hand. Probably why I keep both in the safe!

      Hi A.F. Spataro , I agree Sir, I dig both and I am keeping both and have no plans of letting either of them go .... for my life time, and I can not say that about most of the 35 handguns in my current collection. I always seem to trade 5 or 6 of them each year and pick up more then that, but the HK and The Walther PPQ will not be on the trading block...LOL. Take Care.

    I also own both of these guns and I have to agree with you the ppq is the better gun out of the box. I now have over a thousand rounds thru the vp9 and I'm just not that impressed with it. Please don't get me wrong the vp9 is a keeper and it want be sold or traded. The ppq is the one I like the best. Great job on the video !!

  • @fzyelf
    @fzyelf Před 9 lety +4

    First, the PPQ is a great gun, I love the VP9 more. There are a lot more accessories for the HK than you give credit in the video. Really it's a striker fire P30, so you can find quite a few holsters for it. I won't buy more mags because it comes with three (if you buy the one with night sights) and I bought an extra ten for my P30, and it's the same mag. They were $23 each right after Christmas last year, but I've seen them in the $50 range and that is crazy. I need to take one of these to a class, but I probably never will because my P30 v1 is a beast that just runs. I think the best thing about both of these guns is they are scary accurate and incredibly fast.

    I was torn between buying the PPQ M2 and the VP9, after shooting both I went with the PPQ. Recently my LGS got in the new Sig P320c in FDE and as soon as I held it I bought it. A friend has a VP9 and shooting all 3 side by side I prefer the PPQ and P320c over the excellent VP9, although I don't think you could go wrong with any of the three. Nice comparison video young man, if you do another add your P320c.

      mag318 Your Right, all three are really good. I enjoy shooting all of them, The best way to decide is to shoot all 3 of them yourself, or 2nd best way would be to go with the opinion of someone you trust.. Or a Gun Channel you trust. I would rank them PPQ, Sig 320, and then the HK VP9 ....Young Beretta

      +Walter H White The Walther PPQ 9mm pistols have been Terrific for us. The other one I have been really enjoying lately has been that 4th Gen Glock 19..... It has the Glock Night Sights on it and it has been such a great pistol so far. Young Beretta has been making fun of me with all the praise I have been putting on the New Glock 19 as he is a HUGE Walther PPQ fan. We have been shooting both pistols allot as of late, and a New Video will be coming. Beretta Sr.

    I agree with Robert Johnson on this comparison. I myself own the HK VP 9 and VP 40, I they are my most favor handguns and better made. I also own a Walter PPQ M1 (Classic) .40 S&W it's okay handgun but not all rave about in stock or upgrade form. The HKs are more better in shooting handling than my PPQ 40. And you can get more aftermaket upgrades and parts than with Walters.

    I agree with nearly everything in this review but what I find interesting is that VP9 trigger does not act at all like the one in this video. My VP9 has zero creep (my PPQ 40 has creep , the 9mm doesnt) and the reset on my VP9, while maybe a hair longer, does not have a double click. In fact, both of my PPQ's have been back to Walther at least once for false resets and the 9mm was returned still not working.

    Excellent comparison guys. I think a fairer comparison would have been with a Walther ppq M1 ,which has the paddles. This debate over which is the better gun will continue for the next 20 years. They are both fine, quality, German made guns. It's going to come down to simply preference. For me it's my Walther ppq M1 classic. Although I still love my HK 45 with the Light LEM trigger system. That is a gun you guys should check out. The softest shooting 45 I've ever shot. And the light LEM trigger system is very nice. Well thanks guys for sharing.

    Excellent comparison video. I was at my local gun store and they had a few of both of these along with the Sig P320. I find myself stuck between these, looking for something solid that would tip the scales and help me make a sound decision of what I want to get. Instead, I find myself going around in circles. It also does not help having that idiotic measure 594 looming over us WA State residents. Vote NO on that one, WA Residents!!! The commericals supporting that bill is a total LIE. Don't fall for it. Anyway, don't mean to get too political. But I sure would like to find a way to pick which one of these I want.

      @BERETTA9mmUSA  Před 9 lety +1

      Hi Sportimus , No problem.... People do need to get out and vote, but I would get what you want SOON, as we have no control over what is coming next. I have looked at these two pistols for a while now, and I like them both very much, with that said I think just from the pistol side of it ..... The HK VP9 is built like a tank..... Made to last.... as the guts of the pistol has so much steel holding it together.... I kinda like that. The feel of the pistol is Fantastic as is the Walther PPQ and the triggers are both are very good, the Walther has the edge here, but it is not a blast on the HK as it has a good trigger too. Both are a big step up from the Sig 320 for me at this point if you were interested in my take ...... I have the HK VP9 slightly ahead and Young Beretta has it the opposite way with the Walther PPQ ahead of the HK VP9.... Get one soon my friend..... Beretta Sr.

      I have the VP9 and the P320 full size. To be honest when I go to the range I find myself with P320 in my hand more often. It feels great in the hand better sig night sights. I also like the P320 trigger better just a tad of predictable mush then it breaks with very short crisp reset. The VP9 hard wall then breaks like glass almost surprising at times. I'm not bashing the VP9 I like it. I bought both in same weekend but for me the P320 is easier to shoot well for $100 bucks less.

We like the metal for a little added weight.... keeping the front end down for fast firing, no flex in the metal compared to plastic, and longer service life. Young Beretta whats your choice if your going to choose between ppq vp9 & g19. For your edc thanks i value your opinion

    • @BERETTA9mmUSA
      @BERETTA9mmUSA  Před 7 lety

      1st pick would be Walther PPQ in 9mm, 2nd Glock 19 Gen 4 in 9mm, and 3rd choice would be the HK VP9 again in 9mm. These are just my personal choices and if others would put them in a different order I understand. The PPQ has a bit of a lighter trigger, and requires a little more range time to master. YB.

      Copy that Sir., every member of my family has a Walther PPQ in 9mm, we love them. The Walther PPQ in 40 caliber kicks allot so stay with the 9mm in my opinion. Have a great summer.

    I own a Glock 19 Gen 3 and love the way it fits in my hand. I really enjoy shooting it!! Went to my local gun store looking at Glock 17 and Beretta 92 FS/M9 as night stand pistol.... The salesperson pulled out a PPQ and VP9. Wow!!! great pistols!!! How do they compare to the standard G17 and Beretta 92 series???

    • @BERETTA9mmUSA
      @BERETTA9mmUSA  Před 9 lety

      Stephen Maurer The PPQ and The VP9 are right there with a Glock 17 Gen 4 Pistol. All 3 are Excellent! The Beretta 92 is a different animal in it is a DA/SA pistol and weighs 35 ozs with no ammo in the pistol plus there is a safety to worry about if you need to use it in a hurry. Is the safety on or off, or worse I am pulling the trigger and nothing is happening because the safety is on. This can and has happened at the worse possible moment. If I was new to all 3 pistols.... I would get the Glock 17 gen 4 as my Home Gun, and get the Walther PPQ in 9mm, or the HK VP9 as my CCW pistol. The Beretta has more things going on with it that take much more time to master and way to heavy to carry as a CCW where the Glock 17 could be pushed into that role if need be. I own all of them and that is my take on it. I hope this helps you. Thanks for watching the channel. Beretta Sr.

      ***** I agree. The G17 Gen 4 is a quality pistol. I also like the fact the mags will work in my G19. However, I reload my own 9mm ammo and cast my own bullets using a Lee LRN mold. I use a very hard alloy and use a lone wolf barrel in my G19. If I'd purchase a G17 and a barrel...... I'd be in the neighborhood of the PPQ/VP9. I'm also looking at a Sig 2022. I really love the quality and trigger of my father's P226. The 2022 fits in my had just as well as the PPQ. I believe you liked the Sig P2022 in your review?? Thank you for your advise!!

  • @zankelley
    @zankelley Před 9 lety

    Just one small note you should make...you made a point to talk about the mag release style being a comparison point between the two but its not such an issue with the PPQ...both the European paddle style release and the American button style are available in this gun. The European style is just the PPQ while the American style button release has the edition of M2 to the model number.

  • @lounger57
    @lounger57 Před 9 lety +2

    Great comparison! In regards to the magazine release, I think the advantage goes to the PPQ, with models sporting either a lever style ambidextrous magazine release or a push button release. In my opinion the lever release on the PPQ M1 is hard to beat in terms of ease of use.

    I live in CA and n with the single shot exemption gone these are like gold. Just been offer a VP9 for my new in box Sig 1911 nitron railed. What do yoh think. I can always het a 1911. On cal guns they are going for about $850-$1050.

      ajfam871 I think you will like the HK VP9..... I have a shooting video up on mine.... First time out it had a couple of malfunctions in the video, but I shoot the thing from 9 yards out to 45 yards with allot of good hits... no more malfunctions since the first 12 rounds or so. 240 rounds since then of perfect shooting. I hate to see you sell your Sig 1911, but with all things considered it sounds like a good move to me. Make sure you get 2 mags with the VP9 as the mags are expensive.... and the VP9 comes with 2 when New. Like you said you can get another 1911 later in 2015..... Beretta Sr.

Plus its fully ambidextrous. I have a left haved daughters. Plus 9mm is easier for my family to shoot. Thanks again. You new Sig 1911 is supper nice. And yes it will come with 2 mags factory mags.

  • @Thunderkat65
    @Thunderkat65 Před 9 lety

    I own both these guns and both are top notch polymer guns, in fact I think they are the two best polymer guns on the market. The differences between these two guns are minimal. Overall though I would say the PPQ makes a better range gun and the VP9 makes a better carry gun but like I said, the differences are minimal. I prefer the VP9 for carry due to the charging handles and mag release paddles and the PPQ for range because the trigger is lighter and the slide is shaped weird and difficult to grip when compared to the VP9.

    • @BERETTA9mmUSA
      @BERETTA9mmUSA  Před 9 lety

      Hi Thunderkat65 , I agree, these are two of the best models out there. I also like the Sig P320 Compact allot.... IMO it is also very close to the top for a light weight carry polymer handgun. I have a couple videos up, but they do not do it justice in how nice the pistol shoots. I have the Compact size, close to the Walther PPQ and the HK VP9 and just a joy to shoot. You should check it out sometime. I think if you love the other 2, I bet you would like the Sig P320 also. You may like the videos I have posted on the Sig P320, also another Gun Channel that has a couple of videos up is called "Justin Opinion." Thanks for checking out the video, We Appreciate it. • @modernwarriorsystems7347

    Walther has the best trigger out of the box by far for any striker-fired pistol. Really on all the polymer-frame, semi-auto pistols. You have to go to a 1911 to get a better trigger out of the box.

    IMHO, I have shot both handguns and they are very close to being the same but I think the PPQ is better, because it is slightly smaller in size and has a slightly better trigger that combined with the fact both the VP9 and PPQ hold 15 rounds in 9mm lets the PPQ edge out the VP9 just a bit.

      Hi Ouwkackemann , I think my Sig 320 Compact would be right in there. It really is a Good Pistol in its own right. The buyer will make the call, but civilians to LE Officers are talking about the Sig 320 in a very positive way. My wife is shooting the Sig 320 in our video on the pistol and she really liked it also, so a pistol that may sell well to men and women. Could be a big seller for Sig. IMO. Take Care.... ***** You are probably very right. I was surprised to see how much Glock retained their value. I recently sold my G19 with 5 rounds that I stippled and dropper a Skimmer trigger into for $550. I know I put some $ into it but usually that doesn't warrant any more during a sale. I guess depends on hoe bad that person like the gun. you guys rock, love your vids.
