Joe Devine, JJ Bull, Jon Mackenzie, Seb Stafford-Bloor, Michael Bailey and Reuben Pinder are here to talk about some football.
It’s the final Tifo Football podcast in this format and therefore we spent a massive part of it talking about… Spurs.
Ange Postecoglu is being heavily linked to taking the reins at Tottenham and we chat about how his Spurs team may look.
We also talk about the Europa League final but specifically Jose Mourinho’s behaviour during and after the match towards referee Anthony Taylor.
We also ask each other the burning questions we’ve always wanted to ask because why the hell not.
This episode of the Tifo football podcast is presented by Joe Devine and produced by Steve Hankey.

I love this podcast because it takes 22 people kicking a ball around a field for 90 minutes as seriously as it deserves
genius
Honestly mate your mum
As good as the new format sounds, you are well aware we all want to see these podcasts of Joe acting like a madman and baby boy Pinder doing the goo goo ga ga
Has Jon Mackenzie doing the woof woof meant *nothing* to you??
@@willsaenz6320 rrrrrrrruff ruff
@willsaenz6320 Also, the dog and the bullard are too enthusiastically in on the joke now. Pinder, the fresh faced baby boy that he is, is still relatively new to the game. Untarnished by the "if you can't beat them, join them" principle, he still remains genuinely irked by Joe's antics, refusing to engage in the madness. This is why we tune in, it's what we pay to see. It's the gas that keeps our lights on during an energy crisis.
Ehhh, at first, I was disappointed by Pinder’s capitulation. Then I found out that Joe pulled the diabolical “got your nose” trick on him, and refused to return it until he agreed to do the noise.
It’s just his thumb, Pinder!!! He’s not capable of snatching your nose from your face!! When you think he is providing visual proof, what he is showing you is his thumb!!!
I don’t know why I bother. It’ll be over a decade before you are even old enough to download this app…
Agreed! There's no shortage of serious football podcasts...I want the return of the skeleton!
This pod has been such an important part of my routine for the last few years and to not have it now going forwards is a shame but I'll always be grateful for the analysis and the laughs. All the best lads.
May the Tifo Football Podcast reign for 1000 years
Slightly awkward cultural reference if I'm honest

don’t end it, please:(
The end of an era time to turn the page.
Please don't 😢😢

Accept it already
This isn’t really a “Podcast”…. It’s actually been a documentary series, chronicling Joe’s gradual descent into madness 😊
Here for my first show, can’t wait to listen to this show for many years to come!
*Waits for the comment from the person who doesn't get it.... *

You ending this "format" is a huge mistake! You guys are brilliant and will be so very much missed.
If Joe and JJ don't guest star on the new show every few months then I'm rioting
It's not that kind of show
Don’t end this format , there’s is soo much that is good about it that you can’t find on any other podcast
Alex Stewart deserved an appearance
Nah
He’s too busy getting into pointless twitter arguements :/ very sad
Alex Stewart is my favourite former or present Tifo member
Alex, Seb & Joe was my favourite line-up, they were a great listen during Covid times (JJ Bull was a great addition aswell)
He's too busy wallowing in self loathing.
I kinda do hope Joe eventually just gets a "Joe annoys people he pays to be there" podcast because that's why this has become my favorite podcast and practically the only one I regularly listen to.
This is the pod in a nutshell 😂😂😂 some people will claim its the random subjects but it really is just laughing at/with joe the megalomaniac boss
I’ll miss you Joe. You created an amazing thing. I’ll miss the Podcast for sure. It’s been great all these years. Thank you for being my favorite weekly football companion.
I was already sad it was going to end, and then 2:04 happened.
Now there's barely any of me left.
Thank you for creating engaging content that never underestimated the power of humour.
You've helped my mental health for many, many months now and I will be sad to see it change.
Hang in there mate!
@S Ka I'm realising on reflection that I sounded pretty broken there. My newborn had me up all night, so when the podcast dropped, I was feeling pretty fragile! But thanks dude :)
That cemented my opinion that I will not be sad to see this go.
@@whyteej You seem like a happy, healthy person with positive life drives and good goals.
please start this format again..we miss you
This podcast has been really big in reigniting my love of football. I was obsessive as a kid, fell off as a teenager, and then when the pandemic hit and I'd watched everything on Netflix and Amazon except the football documentaries, I got back into it. The podcast was so useful for giving me more context around football now vs when I last paid attention to it and entertained me to no end as well. So I'll miss it a lot, but thanks for getting me back into the game.
Can't wait for the podcast to be back in a couple of months once they realize what a huge mistake they've made.
P.S- If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it lads
Rooooooooooneeeeyyyyyyy! No pls don't end this pod! Will miss this regularly organised chaos with some football chat 😢 Tuesday evenings in Sydney won't be as fun
I love how Ruben was so reticent with the Goo Goo Ga Ga's at first, but now he's stopped taking himself seriously at all and just leans into it.
We'll always have Freddos economics, John and JJ's business podcast, Lore of the Goblin Kingdom and the Madness of Lord Bovine's Lemonade stand.
Good gates to all of you my friends - good gates now closing
Football is the most important of the least important things - Sacchi (or Joe Bovine).
That's what made this pod so special, the levity alongside world class tactical insight. Looking forward to Jon's hosting alongside his profound ignorance about Tolkien's eagles ❤⚽
27:04 this is such a good point. Football isnt just about results, there's the entertainment side, the pride, the connection to the players, the connection the team has to the city, so many things that are just immeasurable.
I think Leeds are a great example of this. There are a lot of (often American) Leeds fans talking about how Jesse Marsch had a better record that Bielsa in his final season, and bettered the two other managers who came after, but the difference is we LOVED Bielsa, he gave us a style of our own, he understood us, we were proud of him. That goes so much deeper than just points per game or expected goals, and is something that is all too rare in modern football.
Ted Lasso said it best... "it was never about winning"
When I look back at my life 20 years from now I will no doubt remember you guys as a significant part of my late 20s early 30s. I’m gutted and still can’t accept this as reality. It’s weird to feel close to people you’ve never met. Best of luck to the greatest CZcams team ever.
There is literally nothing good about Tuesdays anymore, cheers fellas. As cruel as taking candy from Ruben Pinder.
I'll miss this. Really will. Got the chance to interview 3 of the lads and they are even nicer and funnier than you reckon. Support them whatever they do!!
Its weird that now I'll no longer have a football podcast to listen to after having it in my life for so long.
A shame, but hey, maybe I'll find a new hobby to fill the void instead.
All the best lads.
Thanks so much for the shout out of our game! Nice little surprise when we heard it this afternoon and we popped up! Big love for Robbie Brady being the first answer out for Premier League players 🤣
2:36 Pray for Seb, he's had enough 😂
Hahah so good
Been doing that for a while now
Geez was it just me or was he kind of a downer on this one?
Some good comments but sounded like a funeral at times.
I hope that isn't the more serious vibe they want to move towards.
It was fun while it lasted, thanks for being a part of our lives every week! Will miss you Joe and the guys! Football podcasts will never be the same. Hope you guys make a WWE-esque return someday in the future! ❤
This pod has brightened my day on innumerable occasions, and found a funny comfortable safe place for my mind to wander and learn during good times and bad. Hope it stays, Love the pod and all of you guys!
Since you absolutely insist on ending the podcast, please bless us with some of the Football Manager content over the summer. It was a blast to watch last time!
We're going to miss the podcast, no one does it like you guys! Bring on the new format though!
Also Luke has stormed off in a strop after Reuben remembered Tom's name and not his 😅Great having you on the pod Reuben, can't wait for the live show tomorrow night! See you all there

It’s ridiculous to think that it went from a few mates on a podcast to now a massive cold corporate empire. This was the last stand and we all miss it now. It’ll never be like this again - the way it should always be. Hilarious, nonsensical and most of all, personal. But now every football journalism channel is becoming less analytical and more corporate - views and clicks over community engagement. *RIP TIFO IRL*
As a celtic fan, ange postecoglou was a revelation when he signed for us.
Say what you will about the league, but putting it aside for now: he came in as a relative unknown, laughed at from all corners and left celtic fans bewildered by the appointment; he spoke excellently at early press conferences, and quickly got the fans backing him as a character and as a football manager; played mouth-watering football that won and provided sensational performances in big games (even leaving fans like me proud of the teams 1st half performance in a 3-0 loss to real madrid); and steered the club in the right direction from all aspects (including at a board level, and a fan level in my opinion). Daniel levy and the spurs fans simply must back him, and i believe the results will come
5:16 Alex's "Um yeah, constantly" is just perfect. What an amazing podcast this has been.
I literally rolled a joint for this episode.
Ahh, Tifo, I'm really gonna miss this format guys.
Thanks for years of solid good chaotic football nonsense.
🎉🎉🎉
Drugs are bad
Points are bad 😢
Points are very very bad
My favourite podcast for years, it'll be a big miss. A unique football podcast that was really special
Sad to see this end! Started listening back in 2018 and have listened on and off since then. Lots of interesting personalities contributed to the pod, and the sillyness grew on me. Dont know what the future holds, but I hope JJ & John do some sort of long form football talk. Thanks lads, All the best!
"ive told it so many times i think its real" sums up my high school memories pretty well
Simply the best bit of the podcast at 25:08 Seb providing a little bit of education, and just in the background boss man joe just rolling his eyes and letting his intrusive thoughts win, as the class know it all opens his mouth.
That closing statement by Joe was from a place of love. You too.❤
So they're shutting down this podcast instead of the hundreds of podcast for each club?
Only discovered this podcast during the last World Cup.
I've thoroughly enjoyed it, and thank you all for it
i wish we could cyberbully joe to continue the podcast but its apparent he doesnt give af 😭. jokes aside, the pod has been something i looked forward to weekly for such a long time, and i will miss it dearly. hope the boys get together for a reunion once in a while 🤧
This may be the best podcast series I’ve ever listened to. I started listening and watching during lockdowns when I was seriously depressed and would often listen while gardening. It became a respite and almost therapy for me. Ironically the wacky and wildness of it all kept me stable and sane during those very low days. It got me through those awful months both at home and during university studies on Teams. Now I can’t believe it’s ending- it’s almost like my whole ‘lockdown life’ is ending with podcasts and channels concluding just as we head into our new lives in a post-pandemic era. It’s mental that all of that happened and I had Tifo Podcast as my steady rudder telling me ‘it’ll all be okay - now here’s Joe Devine!’. Now I talk to my girlfriend about it and how it kept me sane and the laughs in the garden I’d have by myself with only nature watching me as I do some weeding or something. Incredible memories- great laughs and it’s so sad to see it die but it went out on a big bang at Leicester Square which is amazing! Good luck to all those who are gone or leaving like Alex Stewart and Steve Hankie who will just have brilliant careers. This podcast has warmed my heart and I hope things are only just getting better. Also please do some sort of annual mess-around football podcast like at Xmas because it’s just too good to let it die for good. Good luck Tifo and thank you so much for a brilliant hilariously beautiful and wonderful informative podcast series! What a fantastic cast! It’s just sad to see it go but new adventures await and that theme tune will always be part of me forever (in a very sacred way). You have impacted my life in a way you could never have believed and I want to say thank you for that - because you know what my thoughts were right- ‘life will be alright because here’s Joe Devine, JJ Bull and John McKenzie’.
Cheers Tifo football podcast for keeping me sane during a time I was low, depressed and needed that escape from the chaos of a pandemic reality as three years rush in front of our eyes. You don’t realise how good something is before it’s gone- and I think we’ve realised that now. Cheers TIFO IRL for just being there when I needed something like you most
Seb is a broken man and I'm all here for it!!
What a joy. Thank you for all the podcasts. Sad that it's over glad I got to see it ❤
Please return to this format. It is so much more entertaining, while somewhat interesting the new format just feels like any other format. I just listened to the Ten Hag pod and while probably very informative, my god its dull. Tuned out after 15 minutes and it became white noise while I was doing other stuff. I love the original format and the chemistry of the round table discussions!
As an American, I became aware of world football thanks to things like the FIFA games. But I became 'football literate' in things like tactics, formations, budgets, transfer intricacies and more thanks to things like Tifo!
I still think people would flock to the pod with how you've done it (as I have done) so I am sad to see it change, but I also know whatever it becomes will be well thought-out and informative!
Thanks for what you've all done and for what's to come!
Man.. please dont end this.
Thank you for all the memories, I’ve honestly never had this much fun listening to a podcast. Just see it as the biggest compliment that no one wanted this show to end, but all things come to it’s conclusion and this isn’t a exception of course. Thank you and hopefully the new format will be even better, either way the support won’t lessen, cheers!
Really sad this is ending but a really fun episode! - The Kevin Yaya Toure bit really cracked me up
Thank you for this all ❤️
That Roy Hodgson impression is exquisite. Love the pod, guys. Thanks for all the laughs.
Not listened yet and will do so later, but if certain parts are not interested in doing the Pod anymore, that's a shame, but let them do other things and let the guys who want to or at least don't mind doing it, carry it on? It's a very popular pod.
Love your podcasts, cheers guys!
Well I'm really really really going to miss this. Thank you so much everyone, it was a genuine highlight and I'm grateful.
Thank you for some great content wish you all the best in whatever you do next.
A worthy send off for a noble and proud audio product.
Looking forward to Jon bringing his trademark brand of effervescence and enthusiasm to the new format.
as much as im gonna miss this version of the podcast, i have been missing the more topical podcasts that you used to do and im excited to see what they talk about next season
gonna miss the podcast loads, it always brightened my mood and provided a ton of laughs. you guys are incredible hosts and I'm very excited to see what john will bring us on the new pod! VIVA LA TIFO
Comfortably one of my favourite podcasts and I am going to miss it hugely, especially during tournaments. Cheers for all the laughs lads!
this is the best intro of a tifo football podcast of all time, thank you!
Thank you guys for the amazing moments! 🎉❤
Random question, where/how can we get a The Athletic microphone pop filter?
Thanks to algorithms bringing me back here and I don't mind listening it all the way through.
If there’s one thing I learnt from this episode, it’s that JJ has great music taste
Really gonna miss this pod, been a pleasure watching/hearing all your gibberish.
Guys, was watching u from Kyiv during there year, while russians nazis were shelling us and ruining Ukrainian cities. U really helped me sometimes just to smile and laugh. This autumn and winter were really hard in Kyiv, there were constant problems with electricity and long blackouts in the city and when i got the opportunity i watched u and it was so cool.
New format will be nice, i m sure, but the pod is something else. Please, don t end it
This format will be missed. This is one of 4 podcasts I only listen to on a regular basis 😢
this was very much last day of school before the holiday vibes, lovely stuff
So many memories from this format. Nice to see everyone excluding Alex Stewart who was obviously sacked so understandingly he didnt appear. Looking forward to the new format.
Legends. Thank you for the laughs and occasional analysis. This format will be missed dearly, but I’m excited for what you guys have coming
Thank you for so much entertainment madness guys. Hope the new format is just as good.
The original podcast format, the humor, Joe, helped me fall in love with football, genuinely, it will be greatly missed. Optimistic about the new format though!
the last cool hands, and warm embrace and it was the other way around😭❤classic
I goo gaa goo gaa for these every week❤
thanks for everything it's been a blast. I'll definitely miss this format of the podcast. i know that the new format will be brilliant too but I still wish this one would continue 😢
The best podcasts are always the ones where the hosts openly despise it and resent having to do it, so they completely stop giving a shit. The curse of podcasts.
which will be aptly named 'the Devine podcast curse'
Cannot wait for sensible transfers, best part of Tifo
Thank you guys for the hours upon hours of entertainment. I will miss having the show as part of my week and look forward to supporting the new format.
So good to hear Australian football bring spoken about
Thank you for a very enjoyable podcast. While I’ll keep listening when the new format launches, I will miss this version of craziness.
dont want it to finish... but needed to say thanks for the laughs and insights guys!
Thank you all for this podcast. It was great
I will miss this dearly, just like the Tifo football show
How is Alex Stewart not here?
My gates are no longer good 😔
Seriously though, this has been one of my favourite podcasts for years, from the days in the tiny room where there was always someone drilling nearby to the swanky Athletic studio. Wish all the gang well in whatever they do next.
baby boy Pinder giving us one last great podcast moment with that Roy Hodgson impression. fair play.
I’ve been putting this off for a few days but it’s time to watch and say goodbye
Fantastic watch as always.
Does this mean the Tifo football show is coming back?
I hope this means that Joe is going to have the time to do more history vids - the original reason i discovered Tifo and still by far the best "of-that-type" of footy history pods.
I still think you should do it without any rehearsal for an hour or so every monday but i'm sure the new stuff will be a new evolution in the Tifo roster so thanks for the pun(dit)s and do some shows around the UK - you'd be surprised at how well they would sell!
0:22 Mans literally called Reuben (Ruben? Rooben?) a cherub 😂👼
The football player that Reuben looks most like is undoubtedly Craig Wighton.
For the uninitiated or uninformed about Scottish Football, you might have seen a clip of him went viral last week cause a teammate shouted bald at him during a post season interview.
Spitting image imo. Anyway thanks for the podcasts they’ve been class xoxo
Loved that I've discovered what's become my favorite podcast about 2 months before the format completely changed and my club regressed from top 2 to in Europa lmao
Artists can do more than one good song. Same with these guys.
I’m looking forward to see how the new format plays out.
I feel like crying
Can we at least have repeats of the live shows and a commitment to bring these back for international tournaments for live podcasts I need points are bad to be part of my past and future
Last half hour was one of my favourite half hours of the podcast
I love and will miss this madness!
PLEASE keep this as an intermittent format switch up treat
