Joe Devine, JJ Bull, Seb Stafford-Bloor and Jon Mackenzie are here to talk about some football.
Liverpool put seven, yes SEVEN, past Manchester United at Anfield. So how the hell did that happen?
Elsewhere, Arsenal secured the three points in the dying seconds with a moment that may become part of highlight reels for years to come.
Further down the table, Brighton hammered The Hammers West Ham 4-0. Are David Moyes men starting to reek of relegation form?
Seb Stafford-Bloor joins us for the second half of the show. We talk about a potential spanner in the works for Newcastle Unitedâs owners emanating from the world of golf...
We look to Germany and discuss the fact that there is in fact a title race in the Bundesliga. But is that interesting? Weâll let you decide.
Napoliâs fifteen point lead in Italy means there probably isnât a title race anymore but they will be the fourth different champion there in a row which is⊠interessante.
Plus, we discover the origins of some of our favourite idioms and there is a disturbing conversation about pigs.
This episode of the Tifo football podcast is presented by Joe Devine and produced by Steve Hankey.

Didn't decimate, that would have been 10-0. They did septimate them though :D
Hahaha, that made me laugh out loud, thank you! đ
Youâre just awesome đđâ€
@SeanL94:D I just tried out a goofy joke. I know it is not exactly what decimate means.
Outstanding. +1
if that was a septimation, i couldnât hope to imagine how devastated united would be it they were sebtimatedâŠ
Re: the complaint against JJ - as a fellow Scot and fan of a not-Old-Firm team, he pretty accurately represents Scottish football and the fact is that Old Firm fans lack perspective, self awareness and a sense of humour. JJ is awesome, do not fire him.
Very glad Joe is back. He adds a unique mania that separates this from the average football podcast.
He adds a mania that separates this podcast from the football. I love it
Been listening to the Tifo podcast since episode 1. Please don't fire JJ. While I don't really like the bits where you all talk about football, fortunately these are a very small part of most episodes and we can generally focus on the more important matters of how much skin a skeleton needs before it is considered a person, and how accurately freddo bars price increases represent inflation. I might've tuned out a bit last week, can somebody tell me who is selticanrangers?
And nothing is more incredibly weird and pointless than the Tifo podcast and the comment section. Thank you! Joe and JJ need to be put on a leash
Selticanrangers is JJâs Usurper to the skelethrone
Sometimes I think about alex and imagine him on an Island playing football manager and talking to himself about niche teams and players and how happy he would be. We can just all pretend Joe didn't do a murder.
The Freddo segue was absolutely brilliant, can't wait for them to do Curly Wurlys and Chomps at some point. Also Selticanrangers is a type a blood disease I think.
JJ has shared this very comment on his instagram account. You're famous, Dave!
Joe being back has got the podcast back to its main purpose, a healthy and mature conversation around piles
Joe is a great football podcast host for someone who never seems like they particularly care about the football
Its actually an amazing illusion by Magic Joe the Magical Magician đȘđ©. If you watch Tifo videos from 4-5 years ago, he writes and narrates a lot of the videos
It makes it work for him in a weird way. It gives him a reason to move on a discussion that's getting too bogged down, and it gets the other guests/experts talking as Joe (who almost certainly does know more than he shows here) has a persona who has to ask the others to explain everything to him.
He's a wonderful mess of a man
Heâs like the test for the average listener, if he gets bored then heâll add something or switch it up
Joe is the Benjamin White of Football Podcasts
I donât think the podcast has ever gone this off piste and Iâm here for it
I salute JJs effort to undermine scottish fotball, one of the best aspects of this show đ
that portion had me laughing so hard
Just adding my complete agreement that anyone who writes to someoneâs boss to get them fired is an absolute freak. Extremely weird behaviour. Love your work JJ.
So glad this can go back to being a podcast about goblins only
WE GOT OUR PODCAST BACK. WE GOT OUR PODCAST BACK.
*goblin caught on tape*
Oh the cut out segments at the end are just incredible. Please include them in every episode from now on.
Loved the director's cut including the vital deleted intro scenes. Thank you editor/s
Joe proves his value multiple times within the first 3 minutes
Didnât expect the podcast to break the time space continuum
I was confused the last few weeks. I was worried this had become a football podcast. Glad itâs still the goblin/skeleton show
Speaking of crowd chanting, hearing Old Trafford sing 'Fred will tear them apart, again' when he scored last week was a delight, despite being absolutely absurd! Fred being sung a song associated with Ryan Giggs?! Who saw that coming?!? It was a moment so absurd, it must have caused a ripple in the fabric of the universe and to balance things out again, this had to happen over the weekend! One crazy week for the Reds!
I love the bloopers, please please please keep them as a feature
Joe has returned and now I can finally hear an update on âpiles chatâ.
Thank the Lord above
Joeâs baaaaaack! Prime podcast time!
THIS IS NOT JOE ROGAN YOU'RE ON THE WRONG PODCASG
This is probably the only podcast that if youâd have told me Bricktop would get a mention, I wouldnât even question it
You stop me again whilst I'm walking and I'll cut your k_ing jacobs off
JJ Bull is maybe my favorite sports commentator person ever
If JJ goes, I go (most likely, because he's the biggest reason I come back, always happy, funny and positive and knows his stuff)
JJ absolutely right about the cafetiere, office workers up and down the UK sympathising with this one. Happened to me numerous times, I keep mine in a locked drawer by my desk now I'm that petty
The chaos that Joe gives is why i am here every week.
I'm here primarily for the bundesliga. Take that JJ!
It's so good to have Joe back!
Who payed you? Who are your superiors??
@@haimainjauo242 :D
JJ's comment on the crowd noise at Arsenal is so spot on. The guy feels football so acutely. What a legend.
As one of the people who was irritated by JJ's comment on a previous podcast about the Emirates being louder "just because they turned the mics up", it's nice to see them come round to the fact the atmosphere is insane.
Also I respect the fact they look for feedback and referenced that it was a mistake, I know it can be difficult thing to face criticism but I trust the channel a lot more knowing they take criticism on board. Good job Tifo.
I have not laughed as hard as hearing secret sith lord Jar Jar Bink's being like Levondovski due to him always being in the right place at the right time. That was incredible
The boys are back and can already tell this is gonna be a good podcast!
Sebs room progression had been glorious. The xCat and xPlant progression is clear to see.
A little sad that the Brighton v West Ham segment was all about West Ham and not about some of those beautiful goals that Brighton scored. It's been fun watching them this season
Joe: Let's welcome Seb to the podcast to talk about the Bundesliga, his whole job
JJ: Bundesliga isn't interesting and not a real league đ¶
Someone should write to his employer.
These guys are so entertaining to listen to. They're funny but they also provide a lot of great football insight! :)
The way that Arsenal dominate teams this season is incredible to watch. And they are the youngest team itl. Arteta did crazy job.
I Googled 'Bullard' & indeed the urban dictionary description is not nice, but the surname Bullard comes from the name for a person who worked as a bull herder or keeper of cattle, so as long as we agree that's what Joe's referring to, we should be fine. đ
I assumed it was a reference to the legendary Wigan midfielder.
I asked Chat GPT to write a song about JJ Bull
Verse 1: He's a man with many talents, a jack of all trades, A football tactician, and a musician who serenades, His name is JJ Bull, and he's a legend in his own right, A master of analysis, always shining bright.
Chorus: JJ Bull, JJ Bull, The man who knows it all, With his tactical mind and musical touch, He's the one who'll always impress.
Verse 2: On the pitch, he sees what others can't, A strategist who's always one step ahead, Analyzing every move, every play, And making sure his team comes out to slay.
Chorus: JJ Bull, JJ Bull, The man who knows it all, With his tactical mind and musical touch, He's the one who'll always impress.
Verse 3: But off the field, he's a different man, A musician with a guitar in his hand, Strumming away, creating melodies, And bringing joy to all who hear his harmonies.
Chorus: JJ Bull, JJ Bull, The man who knows it all, With his tactical mind and musical touch, He's the one who'll always impress.
Bridge: Some people might think he's too good to be true, But JJ Bull's the real deal, through and through, A genius with a passion for the game, And a musician with a heart of flame.
Chorus: JJ Bull, JJ Bull, The man who knows it all, With his tactical mind and musical touch, He's the one who'll always impress.
Outro: So here's to JJ Bull, the man of the hour, A legend we all can't help but adore, For everything he does, and everything he is, We know he'll always be a true football and music whiz.
I like going off topic but I prefer it when you record in order so all the references actually make sense
Weâve had a few weeks of actual football podcast, now back to our regularly scheduled crow podcast
Love this show, but Joe makes a massive massive (positive) difference. I always enjoy a little more when Joe is on
being an insomniac and this dropping at 2am Miami time >>>
I find it funny how every time Jon mentions how Bayern Munich went through a phase of playing like a Red Bull team, he brings it up like he's having a new thought.
This is like watching Momento in podcast form.
I'd say United were due a loss and a reality check sooner or later. The fact that it was against Liverpool at Anfield, and in such emphatic fashion hurts, but it is what it is. Fatigue also played its part, obviously.
Ultimately, Ten Hag went ahead of schedule in his rebuild. The results came perhaps faster than they should have, considering what he had to work with.
it's just the irony of it. United fans been labelling Liverpool fans and Arsenal fans delusional the last 10 year, saying their teams aren't that good, that they always bottle. Yet there they were getting extremely delusional about a United run of form that, whilst fairly impressive, doesn't mean much in the long run. Anyone remember that unbeaten run of games Arsenal had under Emery for it all to come crumbling down at the end of the 18/19 season. ETH has done a fairly good job so far and made some crucial big decisions for United but their run has generally been against a bunch of weaker teams. They have also been extremely reliant on counter attacking football and Marcus Rashford, that's a short term solution. It was the same with Ole - he got United instant results by playing pragmatic counter-attacking football but eventually they ran out of steam and he was useless. I have more faith that ETH will help progress this squad but its pretty clear that United are nowhere near the level ETh wants them to be, they don't even play possessive football yet.
Imagine listening/watching last week's episode and thinking that JJ and not Mr I HATE MAN UNITED SO MUCH was the problem đ
That ending was incredible well done lads
comparing jar jar binks to robert lewandowski is a new peak, both for JJ and this podcast.
Jon Mackenzie is a top analyst. Really get a different viewpoint listening to him
The complaint letter about JJ had some wonderful shades of Richard "Dicky Docky Doo Anders" Anderson from the old Gervais, Merchant, Pilkington XFM days. Had me creasing up. Name them and shame them like the good old days.
With JJs nickname it used to be the Mallard then he'd go "AAAAAA" but then it shifted to Bullard
JJ Bull the bullet! I missed this line so much
Isnât it The Bullard?
JJ Bark the Bulldog
loved this episode so much, was really fun. never change , tifo :)
I only understood what Joe means when he says they're having a break. I thought they were stopping the recording for a while and coming back. I watched this episode on my school's computer, and the ads finally showed up lol
those bloopers at the end were amazing XD
I miss the Joe Devineâs songs from their earlier era but damn this is a football podcast elite dream team, nothing short of it.
Glad Joe's back, they kept on talking about football when he wasn't around.
fave thing about this ep: being reminded of that scene of the armando ianucci show. tbh just a mention of that show makes me laugh / brings some joy!
JJ's Aberdeen references are one of my favourite features of the podcast, long may they continue
Great show.. Probably the best of its kind.. Beliveble Characters.. Thx u guys..
i love the outtakes at the end, but i feel an odd sense of FOMO hearing them talk about all the fun they've just had that i have to wait for đ (also, i loved the meandering, odd live intros with topics that would often be missed by following podcast)
hey man, i really like JJ and his songs, dont fire him, thx
I LOVE when we get an extra long podcast
Been looking forward to this one!
Jonâs smugness about Man Unitedâs terrible 0-7 defeat is ugly, filled with personal bias, and wretched - but also so incredibly deserved. Heâs been slamming a team for months thatâs been performing exceptionally well and it finally paid off.
just love TIFO IRL, hands down the best football podcast, and there are some very good ones out there so that's saying something. Keep it up lads.
....oh, and ask for a wage increase, shits getting expensive.
Jon hilariously far more engaged than the last podcast where United won a (minor?) Trophy
I've listened to the podcast for the last 2 years and also, seen you all separately in videos but it's weird to watch it for the first time
So I'm not the only one who thinks Aberdeen dabba dee (Eiffel 65-Blue) could be a genuinly great club song right?
putting the faff at the end is a solid move
It's baffling how everyone portrays Bournemouth's performance as tactically sound or highly efficient or even deserving of points when they only scored from the kickoff goal and one set piece. Other than that they had 2 shots on goal, 19% possession, only half of their passes were successful, they conceded almost 20 corners and 3 goals. That's absolutely dreadful.
it's the first time in the post-fergie era united came to anfield and played bravely. they still played on the counter but at no point did they park the bus, they always got the wingers advanced and as john mentioned they went man for man and pressed. they didn't do this once under moyes, mourinho or ole. they've played a 541 against liverpool away post-fergie more commonly than they've attacked the box with 3 players. liverpool dominated the ball in the first half but united had 3 decent openings in transition. the problem was 2-0 made their heads go, liverpool's adrenaline spiked, and they buried all but two of their chances (robbo shot, konate header) in the half. liverpool also showed new rotations that made united chase shadows between gakpo, darwin and a new 4222 shape on the ball which is just the result of coaching time for the new signings. it shows that once liverpool add two mobile midfielders, they're back to a level higher than last season. and for united, they're still not much better than they were under Ole. same number of wins after 25 games.
@@dant3175 yep i think they were worse in both fixtures last season, but liverpool saved their energy for the big picture: hunting trophies and avoiding more injury-risk tackles like Pogbas.
this season there's no trophies to win so they didn't stop at 5-0 and kept pushing.
JJ Bull, The Larry David of Football reporting!
12:12 - Wildest thing Iâve ever heard Joe say.
Outtakes are wonderful!
Brilliant podcast, keep in the extra chat at the end!!
Welcome back Joe!
Oh thank god! Joe's back to make it less of a football podcast. I was genuinely getting worried.
We love you JJ! this episode made me laugh despite having a very difficult day so thank you all!
Good to have Uncle Joe back!!
19:20 "Bournemouth -They'll beat them" Oh dear liverpool
đ the stadium noise part was funny đ fairplay to you guys đ
I've been coming back periodically about every 6 hours to listen to "why in did did they take the cheese" again, and it never stops being funny
The atmosphere at the stadium is arguably the best in the league this season
Marie Antoinette said let them eat brioche not cake. Makes it funnier as its closer to bread. Thanks Hank Green!
Fajnie by byĆo zobaczyÄ odc na temat drogi Marco Silvy i aktualnej gry Fulham
a perfect "Yup.", good editor(s). đ
Please donât fire JJ. I am waiting for his next supercool t-shirt!
Somewhere after the one hour mark I realized it was my mandate to upvote and comment on this video. Cheers!
Can someone explain the rationale behind filming a podcast backwards hahaha
JJ is the first non-Greek person Iâve heard pronounce âOlympiakosâ correctly. Well done!
I bet the baldie Jon something guy loved this
The whole Tifo crew are still relishing United's loss days later
Wolves not even being mentioned during the meandering through the other results despite beating Tottenham. More evidence to add to my conspiracy board about how Tifo is allergic to mentioning Wolves. Tsk tsk.
Anyone have that description for bullard?? đ
First time I've thought about Boothby Graffoe for about 20 years
To emphasise JJ's atmosphere point ... Watford vs Leicester... Deeney
I am always surprised by Joe in these podcasts,
Re: The man eating Pigs. There was a serial killer in Canada named Robert Pickton, who had a pig farm. It is suspected that he got rid of his victims by cutting up the bodies and feeding them to his pigs.
In Red Dead Redemption 2, you can feed dead people to pigs.
And it all comes a full circle... some humans eat them, they eat humans. The circle of man eating pig life? đ·
I think the quality of the analysis is indicative of the quality of Man United play. I might be brilliant individual players as a team play for short much like this analysis.
Love the chaos and bloopers
It was really interesting learning about the Scottish agenda. I feel like joining JJ in the Downfall of Scotland. My code name is Macbeth
53:41 i didnt know John kept a full grown man inside his microphone
the confusing Bournemouth xG maths isn't helped by the claim that 1.3 xG across 4 chances is ... 0.03 xG (instead of the actual 0.3 xG)
