- Allan Melvin, portraying the devious Sgt. Hacker, tries some psychological warfare on Gomer Pyle (Jim Nabors). This is as good as it gets. Also appearing: Frank Sutton as Sgt. Carter and Roy Stuart as Cpl. Boyle.
- Komedie
One of my favorite show's!!! METV took it off!!! I looked so forward to watch it, when I come home from work, for calmness!!! Bring it back, on METV!!!!! A great show!!!!! ❤❤❤....
sgt hacker went from a bully to barney (at least twice) in andy griffith, to sgt. hacker, to alicie the maid's boyfriend the butcher, to archie bunkers buddy...
that quite a 60s-70s run..
Also a customer of Mel on Alice.
Plus all those cartoon voices...
bettydaw1970 He appeared on Sgt. Bilko in the 1950's as Corporal Henshaw.
@@JENDALL714 He was Corporal Henshaw oi Sgt. Bilko.
Quartz from the gas station on The Flintstones!
I am 44 yrs old and I have such fond memories of watching Gomer as a kid. I later in life joined the military and this show played a part in that decision in a round about way. Great writing and acting....real TV!!
RIP Allan Melvin very good actor
I SIMPLY LOVE EVERYTHING ALLAN MELVIN DID IN SHOW BUSINESS HE'S ONE GREAT GREAT COMIC ACTOR LEGEND RIP ALLAN MELVIN YOU WERE ONE TALENTED MAN.
Nice to see Sgt Hacker found employment as a butcher after his Honorable discharge.
Now that's how to write Grade A Number 1 First Class Bullsh*t
King conniving
this and Keenan Wynn, the drunk and his wife Pert Kelton are my two faves. "Yellow bear gnawing on bones and table scraps the squaws throw him, or stand, feathers flowing in the air" THAT is FUNNY, great writing. Melvin Allen was one of my favorite character actors
Classic Episode!.

I don't know if Allan Melvin planned this in advance, but he's buried in a Los Angeles cemetery right next to pin-up Bettie Page.
That's such a Hacker move too. So Hacker.
so wheres the rest of the clip?
I want to see the Carol Burnett Shovel episode.. That one is funny as Hell !!
Sgt.Carter is always up to something......
I always loved this show as a kid, but watching now the overt racism is disgusting.
This show was very diverse and showed many races but without the stereotypes of the day. Although, Hacker here makes a point of stereotyping Yellow Bear's Indian ancestry, but only to snowball Gomer. Yellow Bear himself is just shown as a Marine without any Indian stereotype.
i wanted see this yellowbear..please upload the rest..standsalonewolf..
Looks like somebody must have make some money.. On some side bets
Good Hacker
Many moons....happy hunting grounds....wow, that is hilarious.
Seems like M*A*S*H stole this plot, when Father Mulcahey threw a race because it was so important to the opponent.
Father Mulcahy didn't throw the race; his opponent did. It was a high-stakes race and as they ran by the villages Mulcahy told him about how the poor kids needed new roofs etc and how the money would go to the families to fix up the homes.
dude you cant take a joke?
Great white father in washington.
I knew by watching reruns of Pyle that I would see racism and prejudice but that one floored me.
Steven Brown 🙄give me a break!
Get over it, the show was very diverse, it had Chinese, Japanese, Black and Indian in Gomer's squad. Sgt Carter even had an adopted Korean Daughter on the show. The show also had Female Marines in charge. The show was probably the most diverse show I can think of from that time time period.
@@JENDALL714 yep, very true
