This was on TV here in Aotearoa/ New Zealand when l was a child. Lovely to see Aunt Bea again and l enjoyed watching the old ads. They're for products we never had here so we're obviously not shown. Nice to see Cool Whip as, it still features in recipes and l had no idea what it could be.
It is really funny that there are comments concerning the picture quality. This is an old print of the original network broadcast with original commercials.
@@mickmorrissey16 The war in Vietnam was never mentioned in the show. Gunny Carter was a Korean War veteran and Frank Sutton served in the United States Army during World War II in the Asian campaign, Allen Melvin who was Staff Sergeant Charlie Hacker was a United States Navy veteran and Forrest Compton who was Colonel Gray served in the United States Army in Europe.
This video has an excellent quality sound! I absolutely love this original footage. I want to thank you for posting this video. Would you happen to have any other episodes one of my favorite episodes is capiton ironpants ?
That is the way they did shit on these shows we all know that she just cant show up in the barricks in a marine base and aunt bea going all the way to california but it is tv you just got to go with it if you detail it you will miss all of the fun it is fantasy
Love that Sanka coffee ad. Switching coffees wasnt a problem back then. If you switched something on a teacher today, they'd have the FBI at your house and make your kid believe he's a multi gendered fire hydrant with so many pronoun you'll forget his name.
It's really sad that it's come to this atrocious copy of a Gomer Pyle episode when just a few months ago we were able to watch the entire series in picture-perfect quality.
@@siggyretburns7523 Well, obviously, you didn't fully understand my comment. This is the only copy of that episode. Season 1 (b&w) is the only one that has been retained on YT in its entirety plus a few full shows from other seasons.
@@deanronson6331 No. I get what you're saying. But sometimes there's more than one video of the same episode uploaded by different people. And that must be the case if you saw a better quality copy of it. But for whatever reason it got pulled. Someone uploaded 75 episodes, but 54 of them have been pulled. Im suprised you got to see a complete season. Thats rare.
Dam this footage looks👀OLD AF. I am so used to people downloading this show in TOP🎩quality. Way to keep it the original footage that aired 8 yrs before I was born lol.
Originally telecast on September 8, 1967. Here's a magazine ad promoting that Cool Whip contest at 27:35..... m.media-amazon.com/images/I/A1vejpXnoSL._AC_SL1500_.jpg
These were the good ones during the great years, called golden years
....this is really cool.... thanks for posting....

It's hard to believe that I've forgotten about the very best GP USMC EPISODE EVER WATCHED 😅
The end credits shows the platoon marching at MCRD Marine Corps Recruit Depot in San Diego, California.

Mr Sutton was cuter then CUTE!!!!❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
It’s amazing that Gomer never went to Vietnam.. everyone I know in the Marines went there back in the 1960s
A lot of those guys unfortunately died in battle during the Vietnam War 🇻🇳
He didn’t go to ‘nam , he was too much of a knucklehead 😂

@@frankdenardo8684 , thank you for that info . I think Gunny Carter gave us all a great impression of a Sergeant

I wish the military worked that way LOL 😂😂😂😂😂
Love it! Great commercials!! I never saw those closing credits like that !

Why would Aunt Bee just show up in another state without letting him know in advance?

Because the script wasnt written that way. But I am suprised Andy didnt tell her not to stop there, knowing how she is and how Gomer wouldnt stop her.
In the Sanka commercial they misspelled caffeine!

Theyre recorded by different uploaders. But you might be able to find a better recording in the search.

Can you put more episodes out, especially the Friendly Freddie episodes?
