Little known fact that Frank Sutton(Sargeant Carter) was a native Tennessean(Clarksville, TN). There is a statue of him in his signature role that was recently erected in his hometown.
I always thought that was a great episode. I liked how Sgt Carter put that bucket on Pyle's head and told him to sing it. I also liked in that episode when Gomer Pyle said that he wished he could get a tattoo on his arm. An eagle and right below the egale it was going to mother. That was very funny.
This is mine and my dad's favorite episode, when he puts the bucket over his head I can't help but laugh every time 🤣🤣I never thought I'd be 24 still enjoying Andy Griffith
MY DAD WAS A MARINE AND HE LOVED THIS SHOW! THANK YOU FOR SHARING
So did Sgt. Hartman.

lol... he said 'erected'
Wasn't Frank Sutton one of the few actors who actually served in the USMC himself? He was perfect for this role.
Frank made the show a hit but got no credit for it. Loved his acting
If he had been alive,I would like to have seen him as a Rebel General in the first Star Wars trilogy.

From the Halls of Montezoomer to the shores of Tripolee......Jim Nabors' Gomer Pyle is one of the most likable simpletons in tv history...
......We fight our country's battles on the land and on the sea.....

Love the part where he's singing with a bucket on his head. XD We have this on DVD.

My favorite.
He joined the Marine Corps, not the Army. There's a huge difference. Love the clip though!
The boot camp was renamed for Televison purposes
8 weeks KP? Just how long is marine corps recruit training?
