    Love the data, Brad. Thanks for sharing it with us. I submitted 24 magazines to CGC yesterday. Agreed that this hobby is practical. So many reasons to get magazines graded.

    Great information, much appreciated Brad. I do agree on the scarcity of actual sealed VHS or video games. From what I've gathered, big finds are still out there but probably one off situations. Mostly related to stores going out of business and putting all their stock in storage sometimes decades ago, or sold off to a liquidator and sitting in a storage warehouse somewhere. There's a VHS collector documentary from 2013 called "Adjust Your Tracking" that offers some insight. That was over 11 years ago so I'm sure it's changed a bit since then.

    GREAT CONTENT! Hey Brad - I have a question for you. Up until 2 weeks ago, I didn't know that SI collecting even was a thing. I came in possession of about 700 magazines (at no cost to me) mostly from 2 time periods (mid 80's and late 90's into the early 2000's) There are many Jordans, Gretzky, Magic and Bird, I've watched about 50 TY videos for some basic information. 99% of these magazines are subscriptions. I want to grade 5 of them to keep (blank white box issues of LeBron, Brady, Jordan 1st cover) and I want to sell the rest of them locally as a bulk deal. I don't know what a fair price to ask for. 80% of the mags are in nice shape (6.0 - 9.0)- I threw out about 20 issues due to their condition. I need to sell them quickly due to lack of space because I still have about 900 more SI's to pick up next weekend. My guess is $1 a piece? What do you think?

      Thanks Brian!
      Honestly, if you're looking to sell a bulk amout of subscriptions, I think you're more likely to find a buyer at about 25 cents per magazine. You can give $1 a try, but you're likely just going to be sitting on that collection for a long time. If you want to start off at .50 per mag ($350 total for 700 magazines), you could start there to see if you get any bites. But ultimately I think $175-200 is a realistic price to expect an actual sale. Good luck!

      Thank you for your quick response! I don't really care what their worth but didn't want to appear ignorant when discussing with potential buyer. Thanks again! I've been binge watching your stuff. I love the Interesting Sales videos! The photography on SI is incredible!@@sportsmags

      Can you tell me about the "Lable Removed" covers. How can you tell and how does that affect pricing? I don't know anything about SI but I am a huge baseball card guy.

    • @sportsmags
      @sportsmags  Před 3 měsíci +2

      @brianb5745 Label removed covers can carry a little additional value IF the label is removed very cleanly (no color loss, no paper tear, minimal visible residue) and IF the book is high grade (8.0 or higher). The tricky part is getting it removed cleanly. Not easy to do. There are a few people out there who provide it as a service and are pretty good at it. I sold a Mickey Mantle first cover, label removed, graded at 8.5, for $3,000.
