I love the backyard mechanic get it done with what you have style of rebuild. Goes to show you can rebuild an engine w/o needing a large resurfacing machine, specialized bore honing or dedicated valve cutting/lapping. Sure having those things would make the job MUCH simpler and give far greater control and tolerances but it still can be done with readily available tools/ equipment & a good amount of knowledge in what to do.

I work for a doosan dealer and we call those hyndui engines throwaway engines. We hardly ever rebuild them usually just buy a new one

I learned my lesson lol but hey it wasn’t too bad of a rebuild. I will say, the material they choose in the metals, is trash. I see why it would be a throwaway engine.
