    Y or Z axis?
    My Gen 1 had issues with the battery cap as well. I thought the battery life was really horrible(2 2weeks) but it was the design of 5-10 pounds of torque being needed to keep the cap from backing out. It'd back out just after carry and dry fire. Good overview. Might have to pick one up for my X carry.

    Nice review. Sage beat his and if finally broke from a shoulder height drop. I bought the coversion kit (slide with Romeo 1 installed on it) so I can have an optic on P226 TacOps. Seem like a good optic but your right about that protective cover, it's useless. I you going to get Sig protective shroud that covers the optic when shooting?

    • @TheHumbleMarksman
      @TheHumbleMarksman  Před 5 lety +1

      not for my use. While I like the R1 - that one is going to be basically on a range gun only. Only once have I actually banged my optic on a port when the gun was recoiling - it's not a major concern for what I do - and I have a DPP on my carry gun. If I pick up a sig where the mission of that dot changes eventually then I would definitely pick up the steel shroud.

    • @TheHumbleMarksman
      @TheHumbleMarksman  Před 5 lety +1

      Thinking on this further - I think the DPP is better engineered from a dot adjustment stand point with respect to zero, I like the glass/dot better on the romeo. I wish I could take my favorite bits of both and combine them.

    I just received my adapter plate to mount this sight on my Sig SP2022 9mm. I have to remove the rear iron sight and tap the mounting plate into place to install the red dot. Not crazy about losing my rear iron sight in order to mount the red dot but since I didn't have the option of buying an optics ready version at the time I bought my pistol.

      Dawson Precision has a set of co-witness MOS sights for the Romeo 1 - if you look under the gen 5 tab you won't see them, they're technically gen 4 but they appear to work for gen 5s too. I emailed tech support and he told me the sight pairing I'd need for the Romeo 1 and said it'd be custom - but in the meantime I found through going to the MOS sights they already had that very set packaged for sale.

Rather'n keepin meticulous records, from each zero sesh, and documenting deviations from zero, on next range visit, I just fell into tha habit of expectin to hafta re-zero, every time, and I'm kinda sourin on dots, even tho my old eyes NEED all tha help they can get. I recently found me an x compact. I wasn't really that stoked about red dots. I just want crazy of paying alot to have my slide milled then buying a red dont that costs as much as the firearm. But since this x compact is ready for red dot i thought I'd go for it. So it sounds like it's a good place for a guy me to get started. If I get hooked...and I'm sure I will my g19 might get a deltapro or trijicon one day. How does anyone feel about Holosun? Been hearing positive things about them.

    • @TheHumbleMarksman
      @TheHumbleMarksman  Před 4 lety +1

      I would take a holosun over the Sig Romeo honestly. The glass is nicer on the sig but the housing is more robust on the Holosun. The early Romeo's had issues with zero shift - the holosuns have amazingly positive engagement on their adjustment dials.

    • @TheHumbleMarksman
