      it's really not that hard to see everything skyrim has in it. the most you'd have to do is two playthroughs because of quests like Destroy the Dark Brotherhood. the most tedious thing would be triggering all the random encounters, which isn't worth seeing all of them in the first place.

    I think that the wife attacked Balgruuf with the ebony blade(because it takes over your mind and makes you attack those you love), that would explain why it's locked away in dragonsreach. @@windingroadelven I can't link videos because youtube, but there is one named "The Augur Of Dunlain - Skyrim's Most MYSTERIOUS Character Finally EXPOSED - Elder Scrolls Detective". by camelworks. I may be mistaken that he "merely" implies statements of the augur to mean that he did it, or that there is basically a "yeah I did it" moment - I am, however, not willing to watch the entire three hours again just to find the moment in which I was convinced :)
      The entire video is great, and I do suggest watching, the creator did a LOT of work and it is really well put together.
      Basically, he states that the augur of dunlain was well versed in reach magic and legends, and there seems to be an artifact that requires a LOT of death to provide immortality. And he, trying to gain said power, decided to just wreck the whole town.
      Like I said, not entirely sure if this is explicitly stated, but SOMEWHERE in there, but I am confident that it was implied by the augur himself.

    The great collapse of Winterfell was almost certainly part of the mage's guild questline that got cut back, you were going to go back in time and either Ancano blew everything up, or the battle with him causes the damage. But they cut the storyline back either out of time limits or not wanting it to be a bigger and more awesome quest than the main one.

      I'm not sure that's the case. They would have had to cover up a lot of things from the cut quest in that case. For one, even if it was time travel, people would have been around to see the events and would have known at least some of what happened. It's a college of mages and used to be a bigger town, there's no way you and Ancano could end up sent back in time by the Eye of Magnus and inadvertently caused the Great Collapse and absolutely nobody knows what happened, with the mages of the College even thinking it had to do with the Red Year. They'd know and have seen at least part of what happened. And yet despite all of the other traces of cut content, they fully managed to cover up and hide all of those details suggesting that happened?

    Almost 12 years later Skyrim still has secrets yet to be discovered.
    I'm very curious about the Jarl Ballin one. The Ebony Blade corrupts those who weild it and Mephala whispers in everyone's ears. So maybe Mephala whispered in Balgruuf's wife's ear and she was the one trying to kill her husband, only to be killed in return. It would explain why we never see her and why the blade is locked away.

  • @Kahadi
    @Kahadi Před 11 měsíci +14

    Regarding the bugs in jars, while some details are unknown, there's more known than you say even after mentioning Camelworks.
    The level designers (the ones that designed the various areas of the map and set dressings and such) wanted to implement a quest to find all of the bugs and solve a puzzle. Beyond that little bit, the details of the quest are unknown. The issue is that they didn't really plan it with the part of the team that worked on quests and such. They got the bugs modelled and coded to work, placed them around, then asked about putting in the rest of the quest. It's more or less explained in Camelworks' video that they didn't really have it well thought out and planned ahead and so the team that worked on quests and such didn't agree to it.
    Not quite the same as normal cut content, this was an idea made by one team for another to implement without any real discussion. Considering all pitched ideas to be cut content seems a bit much.

    • @Kahadi
      @Kahadi Před 11 měsíci +1

      That's the theory of the mages in the College, and thus of some players, but if you look into the lore, that seems less likely. The Great Collapse happened in year 122 of the 4th era whereas the Red Year, when Red Mountain erupted and all of that happened, was year 5 of the 4th era, more than a century prior. Seems unlikely that a bunch of natural disasters, including a volcanic eruption, could lead to a bunch of land falling into the sea 117 years later...

    I actually do have some useful information regarding the NPC Rune. Before the release of Hearthfire DLC, i actually found a location on the shores of Solitude, showing what appeared to be a ritual site with runes on all the stones. I found a book and a quest came up "Return the book you found to Rune in the Thieves Guild", or something along those lines. I gave the book back to Rune, i recall him reading through the book and thanking me for finding it. I remember this so well, since it was my first charácter ever in Skyrim and i was doing a lot of exploring. It could be even a patch on steam before Hearthfire, i am unsure. Ever since Hearthfire or Dawnguard DLC was launched on Steam, ever other character i made (till this day) failed at finding that location. Is there any way to install Skyrim without any patches on Steam? i am very certain that "missing origin" can be solved, but was removed-/deleted in one of the updates.

    It has been mentioned that in Balgruuf's younger years of rulership he would visit his people and join them in celebration at the Bannered Mare. Which can easily lead to the affair.. and to avoid the shame, he murdered her after Nelkir was born. Possibly with the Blade.
    Or, another theory, Nelkirs mother died at his birth, and Balgruuf slew his wife to keep his affair a secret ( with the Blade I'd imagine). Both of those theories are probably what happened. Dunno which one is the true one tho..

    The blade from Mephala quest requires innocent blood to activate. If Balgruuf were to be evil, Mephala wouldn't try to kill him. Probably Mephala wanted him dead because he's aware of the blade and the offer. That's why the blade is kept locked. That's how you can tell he's a just man and is not responsible for his wife's death. You can stretch it and say someone killed her wife with the blade and got executed so that's how the blade ended up in Dragon's Reach.

    Hm bugs with runes on their jar lids.... character named Rune... could they have been connected? Also both are Viking runes soo clearly Viking ruins existed at some point in a game full of Viking-like characters.

    You can't be serious dude. When the psijic order monk says that "you have set in motion a chain of events that cannot be stopped" he is VERY clearly referring to the eye of magnus which is the focal point of the whole college quest line.
    I don't wish to sound rude but anyone who thinks he is referring to the collapse of winter hold needs to stop sniffing solvents.
    One slightly unsettling mystery I have always failed to find any further information on is why Heimskr, that annoying mouthy preacher in whiterun, has what looks like a Daedric alter with two human skulls on it in his house.

    The average gamer is NOT 12 years old. Most industry sites and publications place the average gaming age between the late 20's to mid 30's. They also state that each year the number goes higher as the gaming population gets older and don't seem to stop playing games.

    2:25 If you have the follower mod Inigo installed he has a bit of dialogue about bugs in jars. He carries a jar that has a dragonfly in it. He calls it Mr. Dragonfly. Not to go too far into spoiling the content of the dialogue but the bugs are actually people transformed into bugs. Not official canon but a great theory added by an amazing mod.

If you are a werewolf when you meet him he says he used to be a companion before he goy kicked out. Since only the highly trusted members of the Companions become werewolfs he must have been kicked out for something bad . Like killing the jarls wife

    In the great collapse, what about when the elder shot the mountains at skyrim? Yes, in a cartoon, use giant water cannons. They shoot 2 mountain tops at skyrim for a frightening recording with vampires trying to destroy the world. This guy, i'd a girl who liked that hated him so much. He sold herself into slavery to escape him. He was willing to destroy the world to have her.

    • @ottone2863

      Always well, there's A. Dragon in that cartoon named Adeline. And they sent her back to skyrim to talk to the nords. They establish when paradoxes are caused by dragons, they become male. And there's a dragon that got it pregnant. It's one that has that weird bad creatures hanging from the tree that traveled backward in time and I said. I love to watch history one smacks the other.
