Glad to see the warmaster bug has caught on, the 3d printing makes it so easy and cheap to do, and also smaller scales look amazing! Look forward to some more content.
Nice to see more people geting into WM. Back in the days I painted up a Dwarven army and a Chaos army and started on a High Elf army. For al of these I still have plenty models laying around. Also got a 2nd hand Empire army and got all of the Forest Dragon files. The only thing missing is some one to play against 😅
I just printed some of these up, but I do 15mm wargaming, I increased the mounted Knights by 140% and I increase the size of infantry types by 160 % . Increasing by these percentages matches the 15mm miniatures I have, ( which most are actually closer to 18mm. The above percentages do great matches with miniatures like BattleValor miniatures or Demonworld minis which make the bulk of my fantasy minis.
Cool project. Some friends of mine worked on the development of Warmaster with Rick and I've always had a soft spot for the game. I haven't played in donkey's years, though. Really looking forward to seeing what you do with the army. 3D printing looks like a great solution at that scale.
thats cool, Yeah 3d printing seem to be perfect for smaller sacle stuff, handles the the details better than pewter and you can print a whole army in a day. I have noticed that the Epic community have also jumped on printers pretty hard.
I did a warmaster lord of the rings army a few years ago when warmaster old world was hard to get hold of and went for silly money on eBay. I had the old warmaster battle of five armys and used cobblestone Casting 10mm to build on the goblins in the box set, also had to make some unit profiles up as the rulebook only covered what was In the box set plus a few units later released as box sets like eleven cav etc. 3d printing is certainly making me want to start up warmaster again.
You’ll love Warmaster Revolution but note that the game is designed (plays best at) 2000 points. Also you’ll need to rebase/reprint the Peasant Relic as it needs to one of the stands in a unit based like infantry. Looking forward to seeing your army painted.
I could be wrong but it looks like you've glued your models onto the paper that covers the acrylic bases, and not the bases themselves Edit: I would also recommend to people interested in trying warmaster, to print tokens from 'A League of Ordinary Gamers' allows you to try the rules without having to commit to models immediately. Print onto card and back with cardboard, works a treat :) and those tokens have been approved by Rick Priestly, so don't feel bad :)
All the stuff from the previous month's on Patreon can be bought separately here; gumroad.com/forestdragon?sort=page_layout And www.wm-revolution.com/ is a good place for rules and army lists.
Just looking to start playing some warmaster with a friend using the forest dragon miniatures. Looking forward to seeing how yours turn out and how you handle painting at 10mm because it’s going to be the first time for me.
did you ever get back to 10mm? i just found this video as i'm researching the subject, i couldn't see any more videos after this one on your channel though so was it not fun or too hard to paint or something?
I just didn't enjoy it at all, the figures are amazing but I just don't get on with painting or even gaming smaller than 28mm. Got an unused Epic army and an unpainted 15mm celt army too :(
@@ScruffyCrow Sounds like you had a similar enthusiasm as i have now to get into smaller scales, i've only dabbled, i bought dropzone commander a few years ago but never got round to it, bought some epic bits and some of the new titanicus stuff too but yeah never took off. i really want a fantasy 10mm army right now so i hope i don't reach the same realisation as you! haha
@@ScruffyCrow thanks for the quick reply. 2mm looks okay. I believe I'd prefer 1mm bases for aesthetic reasons. Once again, thank you for your quick reply!
Awesome. Always loved the Brets. Isn't a treb compulsory for them? I or was that only in the V1? Ive enjoyed the Warmaster I've played, using the elves from Pendraken and Magister Militum. I think you have screwed yourself a bit gluing the knights down if you plan to so fancy Hearldry.
I am following the patreon so no trebuchet yet but im sure they will get to it. I know painting is going to be a challange with them stuck but i couldnt face that many stands indivdually. also the bonus of 3d printing is now I own the files its very cheap just to make more making the figures much more disposable than anything I have painted before.
@@ScruffyCrow good luck. The 10mm looked gorgeous but would do my eyes in. Who is your efforts. I signed up to Avatar of War patreon today as prefer old school heroic scale.
Hello mate I hope you're well...I still have a complete eleven warmaster force, errrmm in the box I think there's 6 chariots, 6 bases of mounted knights, 6 bases of horse archers, 9 bases of foot soldiers, 9 bases of archers, 3 bolt throwers, a dragon prince mounted on a horse, a command group ( on an old titan base) and a wizard on foot, I think I've got the numbers right I will dig it out tomorrow and have a look, basically as I remember it I had the maximum number of the forces you could have ( in the original book), the only thing I didn't get was the leader on the dragon as I didn't like the model ( I opted for more knights or more chariots I forget how it went), in the original you had a choice of elves or undead then they added more forces later on, I'll put a video on here so you can see them...cheers now
@@ScruffyCrow Hello mate I have put a video of my warmaster elves on here, there are few less than I said but I was going on 20 odd years old memories but again what is there was the maximum units you could field at the time like I said, I found my chaos army too but I never finished that one so most of them are unpainted and I know some of the ogres are missing so its not a full army, my plan back then was use a GW baby dragon as a full size dragon and scrap some of the ogres ( I didn't like them anyways)...cheers now
Everyone is playing Warmaster again. It’s great. I’ve been inspired to get my old Warmaster Ancients rule book out agin.
Glad to see the warmaster bug has caught on, the 3d printing makes it so easy and cheap to do, and also smaller scales look amazing! Look forward to some more content.
Those Knights look very nice, good sense of movement in them. It is good to see Warmaster is having a bit of a resurge in popularity.
Started a vampire counts army, must admit i'm hooked, figures a brilliant, look forward to seeing your progress
Your vampire counts army looks amazing I will definitely be painting it in the future.
@@grimshwiz Thanks Bruce much appreciated, look forward to seeing your army in the future
Love this project. It is great to see Warmaster getting some love again. I am glad you are doing Bretonnians. For the Lady!!
that could be so much more sharper, forest dragons and an 8k printer is perfect
The 3d printing is working well for you
It's great for stuff like this but also in general it's good fun bit there's no danger of it replacing hand sculpted minis.
Great video. Looking forward to seeing your progress.
That's alot of little figures to paint. I'll be watching
It really is a bit daunting, I really ought to get started 😟

I printed a couple of the hero's off at 15mm including the girl on the statue, they definitely hold up well, more than enough detail.
Last month i made a vampire count army. And now im printing some nice bretonnians. I love Forest Dragon models
Yeah they are great, I was tempted by the vamps but I thought it might be more fun to keep on the Patreon. Just printed the pegasi, they are amazing

@@ScruffyCrow the same is true of Man'O'War. Not something I am ready to get into yet. Maybe next year.

That's a good idea! I'll have a look at them.
Also don't worry, they are MDF bases which is why they look like brown paper
Take a look at Fantastic Battles from Irregular Wars , Nic Wright. Nice rules.
awesome project! I'm hankering to do a 10mm kings of war human army based on Empire troops though form WHFB
Is there a list where I can see all the units they have releashed? Where can i find examples of lists for warmaster?

WARMASTER! Ha yes mate!
How thick are those mdf bases? I'm concerned about the fact that the only local retailer only carries 3mm thick and nothing else.
I use 2mm whenever I use mdf bases if possible, I think it looks neater and tends to be a denser material. I got these from Warbases.

I cant find those men at arms, where can I take it?
