- The second video in my Warmaster series, and today we are looking at Excellent Miniatures and their High Elves. How do they compare to the those original GW sculpts?

The specific miniatures shown in this video are from Forest Dragon 3D (the files are not available anymore, but the prints are). All other Noble Elves are not from Forest Dragon but designed inhouse (some with the help of Ilhadiel).

Great review! I just ordered a the High Elves and Dark Elves army deals myself. I played both in Warhammer Fantasy back in the day. Me and my mates wanted to get into Warmaster as well, but we never got around to. With the cost of 40k and Age of Sigmar these days, Warmaster seems like a much better deal.

They look to be far better than the GW ones. On the second command frame does one of the elves have a broken spear top?

You have to buy! Yeah they are a lot nicer than the GW ones. Yeah I had one accident but it was an easy fix 😀
I would say the Excellent miniatures figures are based on the most recent high elves before WHFB got canned. Sorry if I missed it how much were they?
They are well priced but they are from Europe so you do pay a bit more in shipping now. But they are worth it!

Great video! Thinking of picking some of these up myself. How much did you pay for postage out of interest? (I am also based in the UK, but the postage price has put me off a bit)
Thank you. Yeah the shipping is high. The best thing to do is buy a large order or go half’s with a friend then the shipping is not as bad. I will say this tho if like me you do not have a 3D printer then you can’t beat the Excellent Miniatures range.

Yeah they are lovely. Ooo ill take a look at your channel :) postage was about £15 but i was prepared to pay if for these miniatures.

I’m not entirely sure you can. The guys that produced the files discontinued them I believe. But excellent miniatures bought the right to sell them. I think 🤔
There lovely figures. Hate to be pedantic but actual figures are designed by Forest Dragon and just sold by Excellent Miniatures. I think the Chaos Dwarves are by another designer

I’m not sure they do as they get there files they use from a number of sculptors. They are the best tho. Try Forest Dragon for the files as I know they use some from them.

As far as i know, most of the 3D Models for the Noble Elves are from Ilhadiel (MyMiniFactory/Patreon). However, some seem to be exclusive to Excellent Miniatures (like the Rank and File Troops), others seem to be slightly modified versions of his normal 28mm models (and at least one is a model from Forest Dragon). I did print some of them in 10mm, and it works...if you are willing to play a little bit with a programm like Blender to beef up the weapons. The modified (and optimized for 10mm printing) Excellent Miniature versions aren´t avaible as 3D Files. So if you like to print things yourself you are out of luck. That being said, most people don´t own a 3D Printer and being abtle to buy them pre printed is actually pretty nice.
FYI, the Wood Elves, Undead and Knights are from Forest Dragon (Patreon/Gumroad), the Dark Elves from Moonjammy (Gumroad). They can be printed at home. Regarding the other factions, i am actually not sure were they come from, but didn´t look deeper into it.
