  • So there I was, just casually watching CZcams and there goes Miniac and Geek Gaming planting ideas in my head! Pocket Hammer is my absolute new favorite Warhammer game! It's insanely rewarding to make armies, it's super low stress, and did I mention, it's FREAKIN TINY! I'm really not quite sure what got me so much with this variant of Warhammer, but it's insanely fun.
YOU DON'T NEED A 3D PRINTER TO GET THESE MINIS
eBay Forest Dragon minis and you can buy these minis from people who have permission to print and sell them! Probably info I should have mentioned in the video, but better here than never.

Printing 15mm, 10mm and 6mm scale miniatures has made me feel like a giddy 13 year old discovering the hobby for the first time, fast to paint, cheap to print and loads of free rulesets to use them with. I've just printed 3k points of 6mm Imperial Guard for Epic Armageddon and I'm printing 1k taster armies for my friends. I also have plans for Horus Heresy and WHFB in 15mm. Sooooooo exciting :D

I love the idea of making games more portable. In my quest for games to easily bring with me while camping, I've found small-ish card games. I've made my own small version of Catan. They've been good, but this? This feels like something that could straight up replace all those at once.

This video actually inspired me to make my own 6mm killteam case and just being able to have a game's worth of stuff in my pocket has been such an awesome tome 😁 everyone should make themselves one of these, the scale forces you to think differently on how to do everything and it's an amazing learning experience one addition I wanted to make is that painting 6mm then switching to 32mm again, you realize how much space and detail there is as they feel quite huge comparatively.

For most of my 15mm historicals, I use different colored felt for the various terrain. Need a hill? Cut a blob out of felt and use a sharpie to draw the elevation and hilltop. Need a river, cut a bending strip of blue felt. Need a road? Do the same thing as a river but use grey or a tan. Want a farm? Cut a pasture and use a sharpie to draw in the plowed lines. This packs up VERY small and could even be used to provide padding for the 3d prints.

Reminds me of when I tried to make a set of 3rd edition 40k using Epic 40k models.
Did not know where to get magnets that small (20+ years ago) so i was attempting to use velcro and a felt board.

I used to play warhammer historicals with 10mm pendraken minis. Literally swapping inches to cm. Worked so well, the games looks so good to. Currently printing 10mm (a little bigger maybe) horus heresy. Going to be awesome.

Very cool! I'm glad to know it works well. I'm hoping to get back to this project and do some warcry or killteam, something in a small portable box.

For dice. I use the small tubes of D&D dice you see from time to time (I use them for D&D) I have like five complete sets, plus several tubes of d10s - and they all fit in an Altoids tin. It's a great way to always have your dice on you; especially if you carry a purse-type object with you.
