As we all were
Attack Titan is translated to “Shingeki No Kyojin” which is the Japanese translation to “Attack on Titan”
It means the advancing titan, or titan that moves forward. But the translation got choppy so they thought attack on titan sounded better, not knowing the attack titan was actually a name of erens form
I think calling him the Advancing Titan would actually sound cool, but I understand why they went with Attack on Titan
Salvador Cervantes it really represents well with Eren’s character. The type of Titan that always seek freedom.
They could have made it an imperative, like Eren has the "Attack On!" Titan
DigiCount the word “on” only cane from westerners trying to make sense of the translation. The show is literally called “Attack Titan”
The "Curse of Ymir" is finally revealed! So in a way, Shadis was actually unknowingly right about Grisha "cursing" his son as he doomed him to a short life...Armin was saved, only to be doomed to a short life. Poor Mikasa is going to lose both of them...
"You should go for it. You're both murderers with *short lives* ahead" -Reiner to Bertholdt about confessing his feelings to Annie, 2x10
Reiner basically talking about the 13 year lifespan...
Eren looked so tired and hollow this episode. It's such a far cry to how he was in S1 when he had so much energy and passion in everything he did. Goes to show even more how much he's been through in these 4 months, and how tired he is at this point. Having to relive memories of people with tragic pasts and dealing with the fact that he only has a few years to live now certainly doesn't help...
I loved what they did with Ymir's letter scene since this was originally where her backstory (2x10) was going to be shown.
The name reveal of the Attack Titan was fantastic! The name has literally been in front of us this whole time!
"If you want to save Mikasa, Armin, and everyone else, you must master this power" -Grisha to Eren, S1E10
"To save Mikasa, Armin, and everyone else, you must see it through" -Eren Kruger to Grisha, S3E21

The episode we learn that the show is named after Eren's Attack Titan and nothing to do with the pure titans. Eren's delivery of "Shingeki no Kyojin" sent shivers down my spine
I screamed the first time i saw that, so good.
I'm still not sure if the English translation was intentionally weirdly translated, or how Japanese viewers read the title before this episode.
This! But they missed that unfortunately :-(
As a Japanese, Japanese title "shingeki no kyojin" sounded a little strange when I heard the title of this serie for the first time. It literally means "Titan of Advance". I was always thinking it should be "Kyojin no Shingeki"(Advance of Titans). Then I watched this episode after years... Booooom!!!!!
Struck by a lightning into my spine!!!
@@johanneskolsky782 Isayama said he wanted it to be Attack On Titan because it sounds cooler, Attack Titan isn't really a uhh show name.
I love the comedic relief when hange was like “The attack titan” mocking eren i felt like it was a nice little break from all the serious stuff going on.
That brief Glimpse into Ymir memories included her final moments before being eaten as she is chained up like Eren did in Season 3!
New term that may confuse you.
Eldia- the Empire
Eldians- the people of Eldia.
Subjects of Ymir- a race of humans who can turn into a titan with a special serum.
All Eldians are Subjects of Ymir but not all Subjects of Ymir are Eldians. Cause others sided with Marley.
Btw, that special serum is not man-made. This show is not sci-fi, its supernatural.
I suppose you already know what Curse of Ymir is.
So lets recall the Nine Titans that we've seen so far, and their owners.
Eldia
Founding Titan- Eren
Attack Titan- Eren
Colossal Titan- Berthold(former) Armin(current)
Marley
Armoured Titan- Reiner
Beast Titan- Zeke
Jaw Titan- Ymir(former) ???(current)
Cart Titan- ???(that duck-billed titan that Zeke rides on)
Female Titan- Annie(altough she was captured she still a marleyan warrior.)
?? Titan- ???
Since Marleys can't turn into a titan they can't hold the power of the Nine Titans. So they build a program where they train Subjects of Ymir to hold the Nine Titans for them. They're named Marleyan Warriors.
Are you sure about the difference between Eldia and Subjects of Ymir? I mean Eldians is the race and they are also the subjects of Ymir, if I remember correctly they call the Subjects of Ymir that sided with Marley Eldians too, it's the same thing. As far as I understand, "Eldians" and "subjects of Ymir" is the same thing but one focuses on the empire and the other one on their origin.
Zander Gamer they do call them that, but they are on different sides, he’s just trying to simplify it
The mask titan?

Ocean Anderson he hasn’t spoiled anything

I recommend you guys rewatch the episode "that day." The layers of subtitles make it hard to catch, but it's explained that Marley established the Warrior Candidate program where they choose and train Eldian kids to be inheritors of the 9 titans. Reiner, Annie, Berthodlt, and Marcel were in this program and inherited the titan shifters as kids. Marley had 7 under their control but currently have lost the colossal and female titan.
Actually they had those in control, they didn't have the founding and the attack titan. Now they "lost" the colossal and female. So that means they have 5 under control now.
Yes the English dub is much better for these last two and grisha has a fantastic voice actor
@@BrcRafa no, marley didnt have the founding and the war hammmer. the warhammer belong to the tybur not marley. the attack titan was theirs, but it escape somehow. thats why.
you guys missed a couple things from last episode. grisha stated that marley was looking for eldians to become warriors because marley has 7 of the 9 titans. reiner, bertholdt, zeke, annie, and marcel were among the ones that were chosen to be warriors. thats why they have the power.
Just to clarify something, these aren't flashbacks, these are memories Eren is seeing at the moment.
Which is why it intercuts sometimes with Eren yelling out, basically Eren is so solemn right now because at the same time he's seeing all this fucked up shit.
Which in turn means that he is possibly somehow connected with Kruger, which made him connected to Erens memories as well, so that he knew about Mikasa and Armin for a short amount of time.
I mean, this is so obvious I dont understand how people don't get it
well about that.....
I think it's more to do with the fact that Mikasa was distraught to learn that she'll be all alone with the revelation of Eren and Armin's life on a countdown.
Yeah, he was really reaching with that one, lol.
I get the dude on the right is trying not to spoil them but bro especially the guy in the middle is so lost, a lot of the things he's confused about have already been answered. I recommend rewatching and paying closer attention, love the reactions!

"Is Eren his own Dad?" LMAOOOOOO THIS KILLED MEEE
Annie, Reiner and Bertholdt are from the same place as Grisha came from.
They where sent to Paradise by Marley, for the purpose of recovering the Founding Titan, so Marley can invade the island, and get the massiv gass and fossil fuel that is in the located on paradise island.
Because of the rapid advancement of technology, having control of the titan powers alone, isn't enough to secure having military dominance on the continent anymore. So they need more oil to fuel their military.
I do not understand why Mustache does not ecplain that to them because that was said and they do not get it
@@Edd211 BECAUSE THIS INFO IS IN SEASON 4 HOLY SHIT BRO
@@ayoubzahyo Ehmm no
@@ayoubzahyo I mean, the oil thing they will explain later but that Annie, reiner and berturtle are from Marley you can tell they are from outside the walls and you can tell they are from marley since they revealed marley.
Oil? Military? Owning a continent? They wear coats and have an entire gestapo? I just realized Marley is modern America and 1930s Germany combined.
My interpretation of Ymir's letter is she used blood and probably ash or soot to make the ink, letting Historia "connect" with her memories when she touched it.
I'm surprised you don't understand more from the story especially since you have someone that has read the manga. Certain questions are answered in the last episode I was hoping he could have explained a bit more so you can understand. i.e. why there are only nine shifters, what Reiner, berholdt, and Annie are(warriors), apparently Zeke was trying to catch them all, and also marley is not a small town. Rewatching the last episode again will answer these questions you guys have. Therefore, rewatching and really analyzing the last three episodes of this season will help you understand the series up till now and set things up for what is to come. Especially when you watch the season 4 trailer. like the first third of the trailer.
If you guys can, rewatch the series before season 4 comes out and you will see how many things were foreshadowed. Little clues and tidbits will pop out to you since you how the world is set up and you'll see how much planning went into it. There are many tiny pieces of info most fans don't know about even after watching and reading manga. I understand these things happen when you don't watch episodes back to back, but, while rewatching you will have moments where you will react differently to what characters say and do, how events happen, and you will say: "so that's what they meant!" I know I did upon rewatching and it made me appreciate this story even more than before. Alas, I'm Waiting for the final S3 episode reaction.
I know right? The dude who's read the manga is trying not to spoil things, but that doesn't mean he can't explain some topics either.
I think they'll do fine, pretty much this is not known for generic anime since they do a lot of expositions but this one was subtle which is only for best written novels and shows, but still they'll do fine, things are further explained in season 4, and the fact that the manga reader didn't say a lot of stuff means he knows, and you'll see in season 4, all the things you stated here are going to be reshown in the Marley Arc and War for Paradise arc, but I really hate when people start pulling up FORESHADOWINGS to say "hey AoT is awesome" like no, they're supposed to be subtle and if they decide to rewatch they can get them.
You have to experience this series twice in some way to really appreciate it
@@DigiCount yes so true
How is he still confused about Zeke, Reiner and the "Village"? I've never seen someone get so many answers and still say we don't know those answers.
Because they are human beings that's why bro, you probably have watched many reactors and many things to the point where its common knowledge but this is a first time for them.
@@ayoubzahyo All of the answers to their questions were clearly given to their questions in the past few episodes, not in subtle ways. They just don't pay any attention.
@@fenrirr22 yes like I said, average anime watcher isn't some reader, exposition in AoT is very subtle, but they will still get it clearly, most people didn't in the first time because they are anime watchers, but when they watch reactors and vids they get it.
@@ayoubzahyo I didn't read the manga I am an anime only watcher and these things were clear as the sun for me and every other of my friends who watched this. The information and revelations were subtle in the previous season but in season 3 every answer is incredibly clear and given 2-3 times separately many times just to allow even the idiots to understand it by the end of the season. Still after watching That Day where everything is given directly they are still clueless, that is fcking not normal. Moreover in every earlier episodes they were far the most clueless about the world amongst all the other AoT reaction guys I watched.
Edit: It is possible, that this is partially because the right side guys knows the story and the answers and he doesn't understand what don't spoil something means. He only gives bad answers or implementations even about things already revealed and doesn't understand, that if the information is given to them he doesn't have to lead them astray but rather clarify that information to them. Hence it is very likely they would understand the show better without him (who already understands it).
@@fenrirr22 Yes there are people used to paying attention because they're used to getting no exposition, I figured out the entire "society outside with advanced technilogy" in the Clash of Titans arc, but anime watchers usually don't, don't call them idiots, if you do you're likely an idiot.
and thats how you make a master piece of an anime. The amount of justifiable science incorporated into the story is mondblowing.....a coordinate which transcends the normal notion of space and time. Basically tachyons, or jin particles.

I thought Moustache would tell them that Eren title dropped in this episode. That Eren said the show's title in Japanese.
So I'm gonna repost it here. It came from reddit and it's worth reading without getting spoiled from other posts.
From the narrations in season 1 and history books shown, around 100 years ago ( specifically 107 years from chapter 2 of the manga) the first ruler of the walls, King Fritz the 145th created the walls to protect humanity.
When someone gains the power of the Titans, their remaining lifespan is set to 13 years due to 'Ymir's curse'. Same number of years between the royal family's succession ritual.
145th king means there have been 145 weilders of the founding Titan at that time. 145×13 = 1885. So 107 years ago, it has been 1885 years since Ymir Fritz.
At the present time (1885+107) it would be 1992 since Ymir Fritz.
Eren got his Titan power at age 10. He is supposed to die when he is 23. Currently Eren is 15 and has around 8 years left to live.
1992+8 = 2000.... What was the title of the first episode again ? Oh yeah 'To you, 2000 years from now'. No biggie nothing to see here.
You missed the part when Kruger revealed why this series is called as it is in Japanese: Shingeki no Kyojin = Attack Titan
Your profile pic makes you pointing that out seem worse lol.
I like how I’m always awake when you guys upload knowing I need to get more sleep, but that never stops me from immediately watching the reaction.
Also Ymir is so underrated and amazing
The ending of this episode gives me chills every time I re-watch it! 😆
Great reaction you guys!
Just a quick thing but each of the Nine Titans has special abilities aside from their general looks and physiology, for the Attack Titan it has the ability to see the memories of all past Attack Titans -- and all future Attack Titans. Eren Kruger was seeing the memories of Eren Jaegar long before he was born!
🤯 so many questions answered in these last couple of episodes, The storytelling and writing is SSS tier
That paths that connect all eldians are not bound by time so memories and experiences can not only travel forward but also backward

「I'm Mikasa」 「I'm Armin」
Grisha : HOLY SHITTTTTT💩
He needs to mention to them that zeke was confirmed as the beast Titan when the Cart Titan called his name in the descent episode
Idk y he won't confirm it. They called him zeke multiple times b4
So, the thing with Ymir's letter, Historia never got all those flashes from touching it in the manga. What actually happened is that this was the first moment when we see Ymir's flashback in the manga, all of it was written in the letter, but the anime showed it in season 2 for some reason. So when we get to this letter in the anime, the anime staff decided that instead of showing it again or show flashes indicating that Historia was reading that, they decided to randomly give Historia titan-letter-reading powers, which is really confusing for anime only watchers. Also in those flashes in the anime there's one scene that's not in the manga and could be considered a mild spoiler.
I swear that when saw Yimir locked up during the letter being read, it looked a lot like how Aaron was under the church.
I remember hearing "Mikasa and Armin" and immediately went back to episode 1. First thing we saw was Bertholdt and a few soldiers in the forest.
Then... "To You: 2,000 years into the Future" FUCKKKKKKK I was laughing at how amazing the writing in the story can be.
“Titan holders memories transcend space and time”
It was grisha's memories that he mentioned. They are all connected into one path, but that includes the attack titan.
The curse of Ymir only effects a holder of the 9 titans.
You can be a mindless/pure titan for a hundred years, but once you inherit one of the 9 titans, you also inherit the curse of Ymir too, which a countdown of 13 years starts, when that timer is up, you die.
Historia’s letter:
Remember, all subjects of Ymir are connected to the founding titan, including the 8 other titans, Ymir(our Ymir, not the founder one) was the holder of the jaw titan, she, she had memories of that letter when she was writing it obviously, so when historia touched it, she gained some of Ymir’s memories by way of the founding titan, since all 9 titans have limited access to their previous holders of the titan they currently posses, except for the founder, if the holder of the founder has royal blood, that have complete access to their previous holders.
That last part always gives me chills!
i’m sorry i’m late but i’m soo happy hour videos are blowing up lately
Right now eren thinks that he needs the royal blooded person to be in titan form in order for him to be able to use the founders powers by touching them .....that's why he didn't say it ...because they might turn historia into a titan so that eren can use the full powers of the founding titan by touching her titan...ppl usually think it's just by touching royal blood
And from this point on Isayama's dialogue writing just didn't feel like anime anymore
So are you telling in a good way or bad way??
@@sujayps5069 I don't remember anime dialogues being good (mostly)
@@mklbz4877 Are you telling from now on dialogues are really good, just to be sure?? Sorry I didn't understand what you said exactly!😅😂
@@sujayps5069 ya

To clarify:
- Eren can't just touch Historia to use the founding titan, he has touch a TITAN with royal blood, either a shifter or a pure titan will do.
Rewatching episode 20 made things a lot of clearer when I first watched.
- Founder Ymir isn't the same as freckles Ymir.
- Marley isn't a small village, it's an entire country.
You should watch the last few episodes again, and maybe wait a little while before watching the next episode. Just so y'all can take in the information properly. You're asking and assuming things that were explained already.
Excited for your reaction for the S4 Trailer!
After all this when you look back at the first episode.... Oh my .
"is eren his own father?"
Can u guys discuss more about the answers that you had gathered at the the end of season 3.
Okay so the people of the walls are pretty much the last remnants of an ancient nation called Eldia. Eldia was originally a bunch of tribes then a girl named Ymir Fritz(she is different from our Ymir) somehow became the first Titan shifter and 13 years later her spirit became the 9 titans inherited by her descendants. Her descendants became a race of their own called Subjects of Ymir, but when Subject of Ymir became the majority race in eldia the term Eldian was used interchangeably as a racial term and was treated as the same as Subject of Ymir. All subjects of Ymir and only subjects of Ymir have the power to turn into pure mindless titans when exposed to Titan spinal fluid. we know that all Eldians are essentially connected to the Coordinate/Founding Titan through sort of paths that we can’t see since they are beyond all physicality time. This is how Titan bodies suddenly form when a shifter transforms, the matter that forms the Titan body is sent through those very paths(remember these paths), and it’s the same with the memories.
So the nine Titan shifters and Eldia go into conquer most of the known world with their power, and easily do so but as a result they just steamroll countless cultures. Namely they conquered the nation of Marley, a large ass continent pretty much shaped like a flipped upside down Africa and is the AoT equivalent of France, Italy, and Germany. So this starts off the Eldian Empire. In the empire, the Founding Titan is held by the King and the other 8 powers go to noble houses. This is repeated over countless centuries until 100 years ago when the 145th king Karl Fritz inherits the founding Titan, it was at this time the eldian empire was on the brink of collapse. Eventually it does collapse and the nation of Marley seizes back control of their land and the rest of the world ain’t so happy towards Eldia either. So just about everyone wants to vent their hatred on Eldia. So Marley took control of 7 of the nine titan shifters and plenty of the eldian population and uses them to their advantage and forms instead the Marleyan Empire. Meanwhile, Karl Fritz just abandoned the empire, took the founding Titan and a portion of his eldian people and moved them all to a large island next to Marley, built three walls with millions of titans hardening, and took away that portion of the people’s memories. That explains the People of the Walls. He then changed the royal family name from Fritz to Reiss, and installed a fake king while he and his successors ruled from the shadows. Karl Fritz was quite the pacifist and had no problem letting people die to Marley, so he made sure his memories were implanted in the Founding Titan so all his successors acted like he did.
Now all the eldians left on the continent are exploited by Marley, treated as subhuman by the world, have to live in internment zones and wear armbands, propaganda is implanted in the history books to teach that Eldians/Subjects of Ymir are demon bloods and can only repay for the supposed ‘sins of their ancestors’ by being faithful servants to Marley.
One of the ways Eldians can do this, is their Titan abilities. Namely the shifters, so the shifters are like the strongest people alive but they are all eldians, Marley essentially has control over them now and every 13 years the Titan shifter power is passed onto a next person. These Titan shifters for Marley are called Warriors/Marleyan Warriors. They include characters like Zeke Jaeger/The Beast Titan, Reiner Braun, Bertolt, and Annie. They were all trained as kids to be ashamed of their heritage and that they can only redeem themselves by slaughtering the Eldians who live in the walls on the island of Paradis. The main reason Marley wants this is because they need to get control of Founding Titan and spread their empire to the rest of the world, plus A LOT of resources are located on Paradis.
Back on Paradis, the founding Titan keeps getting passed down in the Fritz/Reiss family until Grisha Jaeger, the owner of the Attack Titan(the only other Titan shifter power Marley doesn’t control) comes in and eats the current King of the Walls named Freida Reiss, Historia’s older half sister. This breaks the cycle of King Fritz’s pacifism. Grisha now had the attack and founding Titan and then passed both onto Eren.
Hopefully that cleared a lot up. But I must first explain something, the "Paths" that connect Eldians arent visible at all. However in the flashback of the Ymir we know from the 104th training corps, after she ate Reiner’s friend and returned to human from eating the Jaw Titan and gaining the power, actually saw the Paths in a physical sense. If we observe the area, it almost looks like wherever Ymir saw these Paths, she was in a completely different realm.

When Eren Kruger is talking to Grisha, Eren Jaeger is also talking to Armin in the same positions or motions as Eren Kruger. Also at one point it frames Eren Jaeger with his dad as if Eren Jaeger is directly talking to his dad.
Also, all 3 are wearing the same clothes...
It explained the trippy part during one episode. It says that memories transcend time and place. That’s why They can share memories. I’m sure this isn’t a spoiler or anything either.
7:14 this should've been a goose bumps moment as the Titan's name revealed (進擊の巨人) is equal to the title of this anime in Japanese (進擊の巨人) but damn the language differences and translations... and btw 進擊 is not just "attack" as its first letter 進 implies to advance or progress towards something ("charge" might have been a better choice), which coincides with Eren's general character and the nature of Eren's titan or even the Survey Corps or the entire anime in a broader sense.
I've always assumed that the reason Historia see's Ymir's memories is because Ymir mixed her blood in the ink.

Just to say, the founder ymir is not the ymir from season 1 and 2
These are 2 different people, the ymir from s1 and 2 was just named after the founder🙃
I hope one of y’all three see this comment but after y’all are done go back to the first episode and read the title first and than listen to Eren and his father conversations when Mikasa brings up about Eren wanting to join the scouts listen to his father question and you’ll understand why he didn’t tell Eren everything sooner.
I understand thats why grisha always saw mikasa
so the 2nd time Eren used it, he was piggybacking Mikasa, what does that tell us, the touching of Dina had coordinate-powerrr lag?
or Mikasa has some titan path links to founding too? we know the author tends to hide information in a [chaos] plain sight and done it multiple times...
I personally think of it in the 'lag' sense. An analogy that I would use is that the coordinate being activated when he touched Dina was like a flame being lit, with Eren being a container that houses the flame. When he separated from Dina the 'flame' went out but some residual 'heat' remained in the container and faded away over time.
@15:50... After episode 3-17 you should know zeke is the beast lol.
'' is eren his own father'' 😂
Well...Krueger didn't technically see the future He see the visions/memories of someone who will or gonna or was inherit his Attack Titan cause that is Attack Titan power
Attack Titan power is to keep fighting so what make you keep fighting than inherit their will ?
So Krueger just saw Eren who is gonna inherit his will and task and DREAM to keep fighting
Wouldn't it be possible for Eren to control the titans if he kept some DNA from Historia on him?

Man I wonder what anime your gonna watch now when this is over at least untill The Final Season...may I recommend Aggretsuko!
進撃の巨人 Shingeki no Kyojin (Attack Titan) :
1.First = Eren Kruger "The Owl"
2.Second = Grisha Yeager
3.Third = Eren Yeager
🙏👍👍👍
He needs to touch a Titan with royal blood to use the coordinates full power, touching historia won't help.
If you think about it. Attack titan is pretty strong
The girl has been looking so "over it" since episode 19 end credits and doesn't seem like she cares anymore, the dude in the middle is so confused on everything and even stuff that has been explained before, and the guy on the right is so bad at explaining things that he just makes the others more confused and it seems like he doesn't even understand half the shit as well himself, maybe he should give it a re-read too. Why doesn't he clarify things immediately about stuff that has already been revealed? I feel like watching all of these episodes back-to-back was a mistake. Hope you re-watch 19-22 in your own time before season 4 so you aren't gonna be this lost once it airs.
6:26 they actually did in the manga...
Hahahha that ending is so trippy isn't it? :D I love Ymir's letter, I wish they got to marry like they always wanted
Dude that yemir confessing , we don't know how hisu feels about her we don't know if she's bi
Eren Kruger said only to save Mikasa and Armin why not eren (I mean if he can see future memories )
Hinting to manga events I believe
well read the manga if you want answers or tell us if you want spoilers :)
Spoiler alert (if you want to know just scroll down)
Because this line is actually said by Grisha to half-transformed Eren in future. If you pay enough attention to this show, Grisha did say this to Eren in season 1 episode 9. That’s why Eren’s name is not in the line. I hope I answer your question 😊
Ayyy lets goo
