"Whose memories are those?"
That line has shook everyone in the fanbase at least once.
That line was dark and scary
I remember watching it. When the Owl mentioned Armin and Mikasa I thought it was just Erin's mind messing with the memories but then Grisha turns and asks him who they are and i was blown away like he actually really did say that.
Blew my fucking mind when it was dropped, the implications of that line are bananas
this line will forever be one of my favorite ever spoken in any work of art I have watched or read. What an amazing and powerful moment!
@@georgieacero7043 absolutely! this blew my mind

'This is a big brain anime.' Exactly. Shingeki no Kyojin is an absolute masterpiece on so many levels. It's incredibly sophisticated.
YES! I agree with your choice of word, "sophisticated".
which is why people had problems with how it was tied up in the end. It's an incredibly complex storyline that was never going to satisfy everyone

It just clicked in my brain that Historia and Zeke would be distantly related 😮
Fun fact: Shingeki no Kyojin means litearly Attack Titan, the translation from japanese to english has a little mistake, so that's why the show is called Attack on Titan.
Not a mistake actually, Isayama himself asked for the english name to be Attack on Titan

They just need a little tatakae tatakae
The "why does he look like that" when he kisses Historia's hand is because when he's seeing a memory, he is reliving that moment, in that case he was in Grisha's POV so he expresses the same face as Grishas in that particular moment. The same happens in the entire episode and in "That Day" when he keeps doing the Owl and Grisha's poses and faces, while Eren explains the curse of Ymir to Armin he sits in the bed as the Owl was siting in the walls for example.
Actually the reason is explained in the manga and it's a lot deeper. It's season 4 part 2 spoiler so I won't say anything
4:44 right!
@@giuliom5785 you are a good man.
@@giuliom5785 yea its insane how deep it goes, since im so used to aot now i forgot how it was like the first time ive seen all this and i was just as confused as her
@@giuliom5785 I read the entire manga and it's pretty much what I said still. I know what are you're trying to say but my explanation was about the expression, not Grisha's story reasons.
Honestly if you rewatch the episode, all your confusion will be cleared.
Like in episode 21, Eren said:
" One ancestor said that they saw paths. The blood and bones that form a titan, sometimes even memories are sent through these paths. All the paths converge at a single coordinate. That coordinate is the founding Titan".
When the owl says: “To save Mikasa and Armin" the chills intensify Immediately... Oh god, I love this history
Just a note, since the anime didn't make it as clear as the manga did. Marley is just one nation in the world, but their earth is actually about the same as ours, just "mirrored" and enlarged. The scene where Grisha's father points out the island of Paradis and the mainland that Marley is on zooms out further in the manga and makes this obvious: the mainland is Africa in our world, Paradis is Madagascar, and other recognizable continents are in view. The lands are larger though, and the ethnicities don't line up; obviously Marleyans aren't African, and Madagascar in real life is actually smaller than the lands within just Wall Maria, to say nothing of the differences in climate.
That’s actually a really interesting fact I didn’t know of.!! I’m glad I stumbled to this comment.

Most generous reactor ever, you gave 12 episodes in one week. Insane absolutely insane
Fun fact I saw somewhere:
King Karl Fritz is 145th King of Eldian, and Founding Titan has been traditionally pass down on their generation (royal blood) every 13 years. 145 x 13 =1885
At the current time, it's been 107 years after the wall was built by King Karl Fritz 1885 + 107 = 1992
Eren became a shifter (Attack Titan)when he was 10, based on Ymir curse's rule, he has 8 years left. 1992 + 8 = 2000 Literally the tittle of the 1st episode, "To you, 2000 years from now"
It’s actually insane how accurate the Manga just went through the time consistently and gave us Marley and the rest of the world‘s situation. We were reading through a middle age‘ish setting all through a 19th century in just one show.. this mangaka is just a genious and I hope we will get another manga from him that is just as good as this… even if it’s a horror/drama or just a full on drama show, he’s just so perfect on story telling.
(Even though airships are more of a reallife 20th Century thing but yeah it’s just insane)
Damn i got chills reading this comment.m..fukkk this show is too good

It's so sad that Eren was wishing for everything that he saw in his father's memories to be a lie because the whole world wants to kill them and they are trapped in a small island just to be killed, but when he saw the the exact same walls and then the ocean then he realised that the memories were right and it broke him even more, his whole perception of freedom has changed.
And that’s how we get CHAD Eren
I have been refreshing my YT homepage just for this for a while this evening.
12:41 I don't know if you caught this, but that sentence Kruger said is the same sentence that Grisha told Eren before he injected him. "To save Miksa, Armin, and everyone else."
Regarding what Floch said at the funeral he didn’t put it very respectful way but everything he said was in a way technically right which many don’t like to point out when watching.
They did choose emotions over what was the most logical choice overall to make because only very few people actually know who Armin is and everyone knows Erwin and how skilled he is. To most scouts they just sacrificed themselves for a kid they don’t even know because some of his friends were choosing emotions over a rational choice.
All those in the suicide charge for example who sacrificed themselves for Erwin and the victory he made them achieve by sacrificing their lives those scouts and the ones who survive now see a random kid instead of the commander being chosen and that by itself means what they sacrificed themselves for was practically spat on. Ofc most scouts would be unhappy with this because they aren’t close friends with Armin and Erwin would obviously be the only logical choice for literally anyone except the main characters.
Levi himself didn’t actually choose Armin because he thinks he’s a better option he just chose to let Erwin rest.
And Floch is right about them using manipulation (not saying I like Floch just pointing out he is actually correct here) and lies when they enlisted people. I doubt Marlo, Floch and most scouts would actually even have enlisted for the role if the Scout regiment actually started being more truthful about literally everything when recruiting. If they knew what they were really getting into and that their lives didn’t mean anything to the people above them.
Thank you so much
That is not true. Levi himself mentions that he actually actively chose Armin because of what he saw in him, in chapter 136. So no, you are factually incorrect
yes , i was looking for this comment
Well yes maybe the main characters did choose emotions, but levi didn’t do it only to let Erwin rest. He realized that if Erwin was to survive and achieve his dream by proving his dad’s theory about the outside world he would lose his motive to keep going. Levi remembered what Kenny said when he was dying: “Everyone had to be drunk on something to keep going”. Plus, Erwin literally mentioned multiple times that his “selfish” dream was even more important than humanity’s future for him. So no, I believe they made the right choice.
You literally understood everything you're meant to understand.
18:20 "why he look like that ?"
because he got spoiler
21:19 Such a huge scene. Eren is going through an emotional meltdown, and his perception of the world is being destroyed time after time. And now, when they seem to have overcome the walls and reached the sea, Eren realizes that there are enemies beyond the sea, there is no freedom, and the Eldians are in slavery. His inner world is collapsing again.
Armin tries to talk to Eren, but he ignores him and says that everything he believed in was a mistake. His world has collapsed again, and Armin understands how much they have diverged in their views, he accepts Eren's position, but understands that now they are on different sides. A very strong and tragic ending
I actually understand why Floch reacts like this. He sounds like a whiny guy but imagine it from his perspective and his PTSD.
Right? I don't understand why every reactor give him such a hard time, like..try to see it from his point of view.
You're so smart, and you observe so so much! And also you understand the situation so well.
"The paths transcend space and time" So basically its represented by those lines of light in the sky Ymir saw after waking up. Everything connected to the paths happens all at once and never. Everything is connected, this anime is so damn unique and im convinced it takes extra research and rewatches to get it all. Also the manga is so much more indepth and explains more
I came across one of your videos literally 2 hours ago and I've just sat there and watched every reaction of yours and I intend to continue it with you
Absolutely loving your reactions and comments all the way ❤️❤️
12:56 isn't wonderfull when a few still drawn images running forward tells you a story that can shake you completely or give you goosebumps?? Hollywood can't produce those feelings in me anymore..and still some anime can.
Maybe watch some movies that are no hollywood blockbuster. Movies are still a wonderful medium (anime of course too)
I love how Teddy smile :D such a beauty!
To explain the paths, It's like every person is a youtube channel then they are all connected to one server. And you can say that the founding titan is like an admin. I love how Grisha was so mad at his father that he forced Grisha to learn about their history then when Grisha became a father he turned to something that he hated, when he was inside the wall and he had Eren asking for what's in the basement Grisha said "When you finally understand what's important in this world".
The line to save mikasa and armin is pretty much explained in the "information available for public disclosure" It said the power and memories they inherit when they become titan shifters transcend space and time. If they follow the manga it should also be explained on the second part of season 4.
"its been a pleasure watching this season with you ", same teddy, same!.
Congrats for 9k!
Thank you!
‘This is a big brain anime’
Had me cracking up 😂
Eren was looking the same way his father looked because he just got his memories and he saw something which is gonna be the biggest plot twist in the history of the anime 😏, just wait for final part of the season for that answer.
The on in the title isn't used as a preposition as many people think... it's used as an abstract verb....to attack on.... Basically the titan that keeps on attacking.
"this is a big brain anime". She said this before Kruger released the name drops xD. "Whose memories are those?" BRUH.
Don't worry, these episodes you just watched were probably the most info heavy episodes of the series. If you rewatch them, you'll have a much easier time going forward.
"going forward" i see what you did there
Susumi suzuketha.
idk about easier my G
But floch is telling the raw truth, they sacrifice their live for humanity, so if someone must be saved ,it should be someone who would help humanity, and is easy to choose between the leader and a soldier, jean said the same thing in season 1, the soldiers have to know why are they dying, humanity?, Or personal choices? I get that Levi want to Erwin rest , but everyone want to rest
Yes but Erwin was experiencing something like a "burn out". His last act was probably his last brave act, even if he managed to survive.
@@bboynava1812 nobody knows that, that's what the anime were implying, but in reality nobody knows
you're doing really well, you've pretty much grasped everything that's presented but there's conflicting information which is why it's hard to know exactly what's going on. There's some information that hasn't come yet which is why it seems a bit confusing so far as well
oooh baby the calm before s4. looking forward to your reactions teddy!
"Whose memories are those?" This has a really complex meaning behind it !
The ending of episode 21 for the first time is straight up surreal. Also Eren has the same expression after kissing Historia's hand as Grisha did in his memory when he was enraged because he was sharing the experience/emotions.
Big mind fk episode for sure. It's all connected man. I always think about how Grisha must have felt when his son brought his new friend Armin home. For sure he would be like holy shit.
😂😂
The title mis section card card read, the power of the titans exceeds time and space. If you remember in episode 1 , the very first scene is that of Eren waking up from a "nightmare" but looking back he saw events that were about to happen ( future events). Memories play a big role on this show, future and past all connected trew the Coordinate.
Teddy, you've said you understood very little and your head hurts, but in reality you understood more than 80% of other SnK reactors out there (or manga readers at the time when these chapters were coming out) :P
The royal family within the walls changed their family name from Fritz to Reiss as a cover up and to protect their own safety in case if some other nations targeting them. And that's also the reason why in s3 part 1 Rodd Reiss made some random old man to sit on the throne as a fake king
You keep saying you don't get it but I think you're pretty much spot on.
I love seeing the gears turn in her head in this episode lol
Eren went from "I want to kill all the titans" to "this titan was a fellow patriot"
Fritz is the original family name of the royals. When the king moved to the island 100 years ago he probably installed a fake king with the Fritz name and changed his real family's surname to Reiss to protect themselves!
Without certain portions like the end of episode 21, this show would be gibberish, but then it comes out and it's like woah!
I was waiting for your reaction to the Mikasa armin thing. The scene is just awesome
Eren was able to use the power of the founding titan in S2 ep12 only because he touched the smiling titan that ate his mum who had royale blood who was dina fritz. The full potential of the founding titan can only be activated through royale blood. That's why eren stopped what he was going to say in the meeting in this episode, because he didn't want to risk historia's life who is a royale blood. If the military found out that by simply touching a titan with royale blood can activate eren's founding titan abilities then they would definitely try to to turn historia into a titan which eren doesn't want.. That's why he didn't say anything
I didn’t understand why historia is so important to eren though? Like I get it they’re comrades and stuff but like 👀👀👀
@@sunshinezzz4466 she was important to future eren cuz she had royale blood.. eren needed her in order to make sure the eren in the past comes in contact with her and sees the memories of the future
7:40 its basically saying the 9 titans are able to see past, present and future memories of the titans they inherit and eren as the founding titan is the center of it all.
That's not what that's saying, because that's not true.
Quick reminder: mid-episode stills are a good info dump that needs to be pondered and remembered.
In this same episode, the still said that "...memories transcends space and time..." that alone quite explains why Kruger said about Mikasa and Armin.
That doesn't explain that, I'd be careful with this comment brother.
@@GerblerM the hell you are talking about. That explains it.. I've seen some reactors forgot the name but when he saw that title card, he figured that out.
"Memories trancends time and space" if it could trancends time and space, then it could go anywhere, not bound by the rule of space time. Do you even understand what "Transcend" even mean? Lmao
don't worry we've all been there, this is'nt the last time you'll learn about this worlds history, soon enough you'll actually understand everything so yeah don't worry
Reiss is actually a Fritz, the first eldian king that built the walls changed their name
poor ymir to get all the blame, i know you dont know the reason behind it and when u finally know the reason u will take it back, i hope :P
Btw one of the things u gotta understand is the whether Ymir ancestor they talked about is evil or not. uGotta understand on what Eren Kurger said about "Any1 can become a god or devil as long as ppl beleive it" basically its all about perspective from different peoples POV. "The truth of the world is there is no truth"
Imagine if Eren touched Historia when they were both cadets.
Grisha had two Titans. Attack Titan from Eren Kruger and Founding Titan from Frieda Reiss. Now both are in Eren's. So Eren has two, Armin has Colossal Titan and have Annie in their custody. So they have 4 Titans out of 9.
.
On the other hand, Marley have Reiner, four-legged Titan, Zeke, someone who ate Ymir just like you said.
Eren Kruger mentioning Mikasa and Armin also wrecked my brain like wtf who did he ate to get those memories!? its not even possible in the first place since they are not even born yet at that time.
It took me 3-4 explanation videos and summarized comments to understand the real reason behind it. I've rewatched AOT like 3 times now but the anime and also the manga itself is giving too much information for my slow brain to handle that I needed someone to explain everything one by one to get it. It all makes sense in the end tho. This anime is so freaking good, it totally deserve the hype.
"This feels like maths with my dad" is the perfect analogy for aot lore omg
You should watch 20 and 21 again before going into S4 , It's ok to be lost after so much info
I think you want to say re-watch
It’s ok I had to study on wiki pages after these episodes it’s a lot all at once but the hange part was a good summary but it’s so many more layers

I don't like Flock, but one thing I agree with him on here is that new recruits probably didn't expect their superiors to make "irrational" decisions (from their perspective) based on their emotions.
yeah I'm with you. I don't like him either but actually agree with what he said
The explanation is in the public disclosure, titan memories transcends time and space, time is not linear so Eren Kruger saw for a brief moment memories of Eren Jeager like Eren Jeager saw Grisha's memories and felt them as if he was Grisha, it goes both ways, transcending time !
You did pretty well Teddy. you say you don't understand most of it but every comment you made is basically somewhat in the direction you're supposed to view it now. season 4 will clarify more things so don't worry about the finer details too much.
Cheers thank you for saying that! There's someone here in the comments bitching that I didn't get anything like other reactors did and I'm like?? Sorry?? I barely function while watching these last few episodes 💀 so your comment makes me a bit more relaxed
eren is indeed a whole lot calmer, you could even say that he is now an effective warrior and that is scary. If you need an explanation about eren looking angry after touching historia, its basically the same thing about eren reliving frieda's memories like he was there, so eren was angry because that was what grisha felt after he begged for the founding titan to act but ignored him.....eren is basically losing his mind because of the dozens of memories in his brain and cant tell which is present or not.
When Eren was asking if they had to kill all their enemies over the sea to be free, he wasn't just talking about Marley he was talking about the rest of the WORLD because they all fear Eldian's and want them wiped out
I genuinely like Floch. His POV and mentality is a breath of fresh air in this anime, and in shonen in general. He's a great example of what a REAL person would think and feel in their world. OFC he'd be scared. Anyone would. Anyone reading this who thinks otherwise is either a liar or a fool.
Isayama even stated in an interview that he wrote Floch to be that way. He says he's the one that makes their dire situations relatable for the average person. Otherwise, the story would only ever favor the "important" MCs. The opposition is necessary (he said). Floch gives voice to the minority- he represents the side characters in anime who don't get to be vocal since they're not important enough to the plot to really get any big moments. His entire character subverts the "MCs/chosen characters are the only ones who matter" mindset that a lot of animes have. Rarely, if ever, does an anime give the perspective of the fodder. I think it's a breath of fresh air, and it certainly makes the world of AoT feel more real.
It's an undeniable FACT that Eren and Mikasa acted selfishly on the rooftop. They attacked their comrades and superiors because of their OWN personal feelings. They think the world revolves around them, and because they're emotionally attached to Armin they act recklessly. And guess what? THERE ARE LITERALLY NO REPERCUSSIONS FOR THEM. They get a few days in the dungeon and that's it. They get off literally scott-free for the BS they pulled. It's even played for comedy when Hange mimics Eren saying "Attack titan".
And to be fair, the only reason most watchers choose Armin over Erwin is because of his connection to Eren and Mikasa, and because of his place in the main trio. The world doesn't revolve around Eren, Mikasa, and Armin, and they shouldn't expect to always get their way. But somehow, they always do, and it's always the no-name side characters that pay the price.
From a completely logical view, if you were in the same universe as them, without being clouded by your emotions, Erwin is the logical choice.
And as much of a dickbag move as it was, I'm REALLY glad Floch slapped Eren with that truth. Eren's shonen mentality has been annoying since day one, and it's rare to see a shonen MC get a taste of reality. That they can't always have things their way, and that throwing tantrums and shouting doesn't always solve problems.
I agree with you up until the last few parts. You could make a perfectly logical case for Armin as well, which I won't delve into since many others have already done so. EMA don't "always get their way". They've suffered just as much as everyone else, moreso even. And Eren lost his shonen mentality since season 3 part 1, where he saw began to see himself as a nobody who doesn't deserve the power and responsibility he got

The Reiss and Fritz family did split when the king decided to go to Paradise Island. A part of it went to the island and a part of it stayed on the mainland. The Reiss family is the one that went to the island.
They've got to move forward until all their enemies are destroyed, because they were born into this world.

This series really epitomizes the saying, "Be careful of what you wish for." They were so desperate to see the world outside of the walls, like us the viewers and now... they probably wished they could just go back. Fritz's decision to wipe out their memories may have seemed cruel at the time, but perhaps it was a blessing in disguise. In any case it looked as if war was inevitable.
I enjoyed watching your reactions these past four episodes. It's a lot to take in, but it sets the ground for what's to come. I myself have had to watch and rewatch, including other people's reactions since different people pick up on different details. The story does leave you with a very good impression that the full truth, the real history remains obscure.

23:25 That's what MARLEYANS believe, that she made a deal with the devil. ELDIANS believe she made a deal with the God. THE TRUTH is however, is still a secret. It will be revealed in Season 4 Part 2
Now that you know all this, go back and watch season two's ED again (the freaky one). Its amazing how much more sense it makes now with all this information.
Cant wait for the final season
Remember that face Eren made when Ch 121 finally airs
If I remember correctly the attack titan has the memories of all the Attack titan bearers, this is why Eren Krueger knew about Mikasa and Armin, because he already had the memories of Eren, however they're not clear or in order, but with the power of the founding Titan they get access to the memories, this is why Eren was shocked after kissing Historia's hand, he saw his father's memories and his own future memories as well...
why don't you just spoil the entire manga ending also ...that's all that is left
@@Alfredjim143 Hello, that's all right.
Season 4 is where the reason story begins. The first the seasons are just the prologue.
they haven't attacked paradis because king fritz used the colossal titans in the walls as a threat to the world, that if they ever attack paradis then the colossal titans will flatten the whole world. Also fritz just changed their name to reiss to gain anonymity or just to hide...the royal bloodline has always been fritz, so their real names are rod fritz, historia fritz, frieda fritz, etc.
12:54 everyone has the same reaction in this part 🤣
Teddy is a speedrunner 🤩
Some people of the royal family stayed in the continent and didn't fled for paradis with the king that's why dina is there
Don't worry Teddy, don't even look for any of the answers for what happened these last episodes. AoT literally just starts with this, EVERY question you have and WILL have, are gonna get their answers at the right time, just enjoy and try to embrace all the info you get, because this will turn into a mess in the next season lol
15:16
Rare footage of Eren messing with someones memory again on our present, aside from Isayama. 🤣
you should definetely rewatch the episodes. Its just a lot of info is given and so there are a lot of gaps in that information. Its normal to get confused. if you feel some information is missing then its actually intended by the show.
yo guys do we forget that it is this moment eren saw future memory of disaster of titan wall? and he agreed at the future he saw. and it happen, what the fuck so mind blowing
Just as Glisha decided to eradicate the Reiss family, Ellen decided to do something, so he looks the same face as his father.
Eren re-lived the moment when his father confronted Freda, The founder titan. But also in my opinion he discovered that his father wasn't really just stealing the titan's power, he was also trying to make amends with the king in the walls to save him and his mom, when Freda looked like she's carrying king Frits ideology of peace, Grisha was yet again forced to move forward with his plan and massacre the whole royal family. Anyway, you're gonna love S04
There are 9 intelligent titan powers in total, As of this episode we know of Eren's Founding and Attack, Reiner's Armored, Armin's Colossal, Zeke's Beast, Annie's Female, Ymir's ___ and the Quadruped's ____ (i cant namedrop until they do in the show) which leaves one we dont know about yet.
I shat myself when he said "TO SAVE MIKASA AND ARMIN" lmfao imagine Grisha when his son comes home like "Haha I made a new friend called Armin"
