We preemptively apologize for any sarcasm used in the intro for this reaction. This was recorded before we heard of the reception of sarcasm in 3x20 😅
I thought the sarcasm was hilarious🤣 Because some people actually say what you said last episode and are serious
It was funny wth

I knew it was sarcasm because who in their right mind would say any of these recent episodes of AOT are filler?!?

Grisha: holy shit
Grisha going to a randmon family out in the middle of nowhere to treat a patient:

I love it how Levi assumes that Eren is in his teenage edgelord phase.
makes sense since Levi spent a majority of his life in an edge-lord phase, and arguably still is lmao (although if he still is, its inarguably been diminished).
no hate tho, love Levi.
Little did he know the teenage edgelord phase was only to come in 4 more years.

Yes that's correct. I'm excited for them to hear about the final titan in s4.
You nailed it showing all titan users. Whats the last titan ?? I cant 'NAILED' it.
@@akaza_Snow_Compass spoilers....
The Warhammer titan
I love how they called it backpack titan. It's also probably better, than the actual name xd
There were SO MANY good quotes in this episode, but my favourite is still "This is a story that you began, is it not?" it just hits right in the feels, especially with the music
We got so much lore in this episode and so many answers... and then they dropped the ''To protect Mikasa and Armin'' lol
Shingeki no Kyojin (The Attack Titan) is the japanese name of this show
my favorite philosopical quote from aot is still "The only truth in this world is that there are no truths. anyone can become a god or a devil. all it takes is for people to believe it." but lore wise the ones you said are on top as well.
little did he know It was hobo who started the story 🤣
@امير مادرا war is unfair, it doesn't distinguish between who should live or die. Those who come in the way gets slaughtered.. That's why Zeke said "War is pretty bad isn't it"
I think people gets worried when 'time' is being involved like you said in this video. But it has been heavily hinted from ep 1 that Eren wakes up after having a dream while crying, which later became true. The mangaka Isayama is built different, the story is not written to increase plot points unnecessarily, everything will make sense eventually. He had planned for this extensively from the beginning.
I would say this is kind of a spoiler. At least until season 4
exactly!
@@abhijithcpreej what spoiler? I didn't write any upcoming plot points. I also did not confirm or deny any theory. I was just reassuring them that the story does not get messy even if ' time ' is involved.
@@ranitsarkar472 (mild spoilers)
I'm up to date on Season 4, and... I still don't like the time element. I think predestination ruins the character development that was done so masterfully in the first three seasons.
Worries about time are always valid, cause even if it's planned and not retconned, it's very easy to mess up. Either the author makes a meal of it, or the audience is rife with misconceptions or pointing out plot holes. I find that in AoT's case, while it's been used fairly sparingly, it still has its own element of messiness if you think about it too hard.
Let's take a moment to appreciate how absolutely wonderful a red herring it was that Grisha was a doctor! Almost all reactors jump to the conclusion that because Grisha was a doctor, he must have been some sort of mad scientist that invented Eren's powers, or all Titan powers, or used his scientist ingenuity to steal the power from the real bad guys, etc. etc. When, in actuality, his doctor status had nothing to do with any of that -- it simply made him a pretty good spy and nothing else. But it makes it so entertaining for us re-watchers who watch reactors come up with these wild, elaborate Grisha-centered theories 😈 If Isayama did that intentionally, he is a genius!
So, that means his job as a doctor was just mean to be a bystander.
Them in Season 2 after hearing Ymir lived for 60ys: "Mayb titan powers give u immortality!!"
Season 3x21: "Yeahhh abt that....."🤣
Well technically they do. Pure titans live forever until they're killed or they eat someone
I guess that just as important as the fossil resources under Paradis Island is the fact that Marley has always been haunted by the possibility of Eldians unleashing the titans within the walls. This is why stealing the Founding Titan is so important to them. Not only because they need more power to maintain their domain over the other growing nations, but also because they would never have to worry again about the Eldians.
Also, rainer SAW Eren using the power. So that fear probably became much larger now.

Marley don't fear Eldia. They know that the king would never attack (at least the leadership does). Taking The Founding Titan would make conquering the island a walk in the park. It would deprive the Eldians of their only potential defence against the Marleyan military. It would also give Marley a great military asset for their wars. So taking the Founding Titan is even better than simply conquering the island.
Man, this episode and the last just make me really like Grisha’s character. It’s insane to realize just how involved he was in… well, everything, despite being eaten in nearly the beginning of the series.
Yup. Died offscreen in episode 2 yet is arguably the most important character in this show.
@@QahnaarinDovah he's the one who started this story, isn't he?
i always say that this is like a void in the story, because when grishas sister died was 15 years ago and that means that the owl wasnt even a titan when she died
True, but we can assume Kruger was part of a greater Restorationist movement before he actually became The Owl and before he ate the Attack Titan before him. Still a void in the story like you say, since we don’t know who he ate or when exactly he did.
@@Goosethegoat yup. Means the restorationist were well-organised considering the circumstances if the attack titan was among them (before kruger)
@@Goosethegoat Or maybe he was The Owl, he just didn't have the Attack Titan yet
That is literally the point of the scene, though. It's literally set up to show you "they only live 13 years" and then "you killed my sister 15 years ago" to make it clear that Kruger wasn't "always" the Attack Titan.
Given that he kinda saved Grisha, it's tough to say if he was already a restorationist or if he took that as the turning point, but the latter would make sense for the story, since that would make it truly "Grisha's story" that began it all.
Anna has had some big galaxy brain moments recently holy shit. I mean you guys have both been really smart and really good at predicting and understanding AOT but you're surpassing yourselves recently
she predicts the kinetic bombardment in the next episode discussion 🤯
you actually have no idea how much i enjoy your reactions, discussions and theories! u guys are probably the most likable reactors on yt
Shingeki No Kyojin. Just when you're finally starting to get a hold on where the story's going, Eren starts talking about Eren's memories before Eren was born to the father of Eren about how Eren thought it was important to save Mikasa and Armin. Funnily enough, when Eren is about to transform to protect Mikasa and Armin from the cannon, in the flashback, Grisha uses the exact same wording that Kruger used. Pretty much.
I'm just happy we got to see Ymir again. Her whole life has been about sacrificing for others. So seeing her declare her one true desire to be married to Historia is really sweet. And sad. I think Historia did love her back. In the manga(this was cut from the anime), after Ymir leaves she has a mental breakdown and starts crying. And she feels hollow without her. Maybe it's wishful thinking but their relationship was definitely special.
I think that historia only saw her as her best friend and confidante, Ymir was important to her because it reminded her that she should be herself (that was the only theme they talked about) but thanks to Eren and his willpower, Historia was able to overcome her difficulties and be a good queen and a strong person.
As for Eren, what mattered most to him was freedom, the freedom of the people who lived in the walls, his friends included.
@@bryanolivera7818 Eh. Eren's words did help Historia later on. But it was mostly her remembering her promise to Ymir that allowed Historia to rebel. Remember, Eren himself didn't want to fight anymore under the Reiss cavern. He was ready to give up. It was only thinking of Ymir and everything they went through that Historia stood up. Plus the two popular OST's Call Of Silence and Zero Eclipse. Call of Silence is Ymir's song about how thankful she is to have a second chance at life. And Zero Eclipse is about Ymir and Historia's relationship. And it's very, very, romantic coded. The lyrics are wild when you listen to them. Zero Eclipse is the song they played when Historia rebels after thinking of Ymir. So yes, I think their love was mutual.
@@alexinator-hh5fe music is another topic, and it can be interpreted in different ways, but if we refer to the plot, in addition to ymir's words, it was also Eren's words that motivated it (when Hisu was sad about ymir's departure; since At the time in that theyre spoke ,not even the memory of Ymir's words could cheer her up), it was after Eren told her that, that she was able to see things better and apply what Ymir told her.
Not to mention that the only topic Ymir and Historia talked about was Historia's behavior, nothing more, so I think that for Historia, Ymir was very important, her confidante and best friend but nothing more.
@@bryanolivera7818 Alright then. I personally think music, especially in regards to characters and if it's their personal song have a bit more deeper meaning. But if you believe differently, that's perfectly fine as well. That's the point of interpretation. Everyone can see something in their own way.
@@alexinator-hh5fe yes, the song sometimes denotes important things about the characters, but I think that the most important thing is what happens in the plot, since sometimes the interpretations of the songs can coincide with the actions of the characters, or they can also not coincide .
It's a deep subject, but everyone has their opinion.
I enjoy that your notes say “who who is the owl”. Because that’s what owls say.
Dice is the plural of dice. The singular form is “a die”.

End of this episode: I don't understand anything.
You two are soo good at analyzing this series ...i am sooo jealous. i never thought about these theories while watching....glad to be watching your reactions/discussion.
Armin still has 8-13 years with his friends, depends which friend you are talking about. Thaaaaaam this had me 🤣🤣🤣🤣
there are many things to analyze, guys, pay close attention or remember the details of previous chapters, they will be very helpful for the next season.
Kruger is the attack titan and as you guys pointed out he's probably one of the ones marley doesn't know about.
It was mentioned marley got 7 of the 9. The remaining 2 were the attack titan and the founding titan of which eren is now the holder of both. And yeah eren seeing those memories and seeing the reality of what the world is (like you said not just by reading but actually reliving the memories). You can assume it's broken something in him.

I love how they figure out in this season some things there are just explained in detail in the next seasibm and even when it's explained some reactors don't get it, it just shows how you guys really invest in trying to understand it
time travel/time warp ain't something new in this show. in the first episode Eren had a vision of his mom dying before it actually happens. the first episode is also called "To You, in 2000 Years".
There is no time travel/time warp in this show. It's all memories and thoughts sent through the Paths.
@@hsn5115 There is time travel yes, because they are memories of the future and future will be in some time.
@@KING_FLOCH... that’s not time travel lmao, that’s just thoughts transferring
The name of this Titan is "Shingeki no kyojin", which is the same as the title of this show, "Shingeki no kyojin", so the Japanese people was so surprised.
Finally! We arrived at actual Attack on Titan series. Your reactions for the intro till now have been awesome. Can't wait to watch your reactions to the real story now.
You have one of the best reactions out there
Please keep up the activity
28:10 glad you figured that out this soon
some people were confused about it in season 4
Congratulations for completing the Prologue. The main story begins now.
You have heard those same lines said by Grisha to Eren when he was injecting him. It is shown in S1ep2 and ep9
Some people do especially those who are new reactors. But for us back who’ve been watching since 2013, it was already been hinted at. That’s why when this episode dropped 3 years ago, it never forgot to give me the chills. “To save Mikasa and Armin and everyone else…..” that’s why once you finish everything I suggest a rewatch and it feels like a different show over and over again. Great reaction guys. 😊😊😊
I'm really enjoying your reactions to AoT, thank you guys for your videos.
The title of this episode is the same as the title of the show, in Japanese. "Shingeki no Kyojin" , the name of Eren's titan
The show is Literally the story of eren😅
Such a massive lore episode I'm so happy that we got here

This addition is the best thing about this show. You will find out one day and be in absolute awe
The way this episode gave us a hint of what the attack titans power is and it went over my head until I realized it until THAT episode next season😅.
Despite how insane 3x20 is, watching this episode had such a strong impact on me, the final line from Kruger, "who's memories are these" still gives me goosebumps. This whole arc is such a wild ride in general though
Cant really wait for s4 now
I'm sick and tired of walls

Nice reaction and discussion!
The paths transcend space and time and allow memories, thoughts, and the will to act to pass through them. All the subjects of ymir are connected via paths regardless if they possess one of the 9. Not a spoiler as it is stated by earlier in the episode
45:30 where did the titan yell theory come from?
Waiting for people not understanding the sarcasm again and not reading the top comment
The fossil fuel refers to the gas ODM gears use. If I remembered correctly, it's an ore that vaporize under room temperature and become high pressure gas. Thunder spears also utilize it for propulsion it seems.
Hello. I’m Junco from Japan. I’m big fan of you guys. Ben was right. Fukuro means owl in Japanese. So, as for “Haikyu,”Fukuro-dani (high school) means valley of owls. That’s why Bokuto’s appearance is like an owl. He represents of owls for his high school.
Additional information: Inari-zaki (high) means cape of foxes, that’s why the animal version character of Miya brothers is foxlike.
that was the best note taking of all time xD
"Whose memories are those?"
This is the best episode in the entire show in my opinion.
My favorite.
I mean it is top tier episode
This episode starts a new chapter in the show. It's going to change pretty drastically but I promise if you stick with it the end result is worth it
Eren wasn't the first to have two Titans. Because logically Grisha had both Titans before Eren.
In fairness, I forgot that too!
Was looking for this.
Did they not figure it out by the end of this video? I've just reached a few minutes of their discussion.
(EDIT: Though Grisha only had both for a short time, still technically it was him as far as we know.)
Ooooh my, it's getting spicy as we are closer into season 4
Kruger is such a chad. Literally changes the direction of the story then poof, gone.
13:20 Not just "the Attack Titan" but the actual name of the show in Japanese, "Advancing Titan(s), which makes the reveal so much more symbolic.
The literal translation of the title or the titan name is 'Advancing and Attacking Titan' (not just Advancing Titan as you might have seen on reddit or somewhere else). Because that's a mouthful, the english version just uses Attack Titan. Eren keeps saying he will move forward, because it is fitting to the real titan name as well.
Guys I hope you see this, the marleyans only brought 7 of the 9 titans under their control. The 2 titans that they couldn't bring under their control were the founding titan AND the attack titan. So the attack titan wasn't given to Kruger by the marleyan government/ military but it was passed down to him by a fellow eldian.
The Japanese title of the show is "Shingeki no Kyojin", which translates into "Titan That Attacks/moves forward, or The Attacking/Forward Moving Titans. The Japanese audience thought the title refered to the Titans attacking the humanity since season 1. But it actually refered to Eren's Titan name...
What a episode!
The kanji for the Attack Titan (進撃の巨人) is the same as the show's title, Attack on Titan (進撃の巨人, which in its most literal sense means "the advancing giant.")
In other words, the show's title is a reference to Eren's/the Owl's Titan all along.
those memories would be an annoyance sometime you just receive a memory of some stranger pooping
It blows my mind how incredibly clever Anna is!
what happened with Conny’s village? Who make them being titan?

Anna is savage; you don't have to call Mikasa "Chinese Food Leftovers" like that.
This is NOW the beginning of madness !! :D
I love this intro.......^^
i don't think it's a spoiler. see, 9 titans and 7 went to the marleyan's side. 2 didn't - 1 is the founding and 1 is from the looks of it, the attack titan.

Yep this episode confirms that the memory powers and Founding Titan powers are different. The King has access to every Eldian's psyche through the coordinate (FT) and then used his original powers to alter their memories. Isayama is a genius
"What the hell did you come for?!"(3x21)
"What did you come for?!"(4x10)
Here’s a summary of the key points I found, no spoilers so feel free to read all of it!
- 1820 years ago, a girl named Ymir Fritz made a contract with the devil to receive the power of the Titans. When she died, her soul split into 9 separate Titans who built the Eldian Empire.
- They used that power to conquer a nation called Marley & other countries. The Eldians almost drove other races to extinction. This lasted for 1700 years until the Great Titan War.
- The war began when 145th king of Eldians, King Fritz inherited the Founding Titan & failed to use its power to maintain peace. During this period, Marley somehow captured 7 of the 9 Titan powers 80 years ago, ensuring their victory.
- Most of the remaining Eldians retreated to the island of Paradis, led by King Fritz. There they built *3 surrounding walls for protection*. As you can guess this is where Eren and the gang have been the entire time. That's why the Titans outside of the walls couldn't "wipe out" humanity since they're all stuck on an island, and Marley and the rest are safe because of that.
-When the King Fled to the island, A group of Eldians were left behind in Marley & lived as second-class citizens due to their ancestors, these second-class citizens are people such as Grisha and his parents.
- The ‘Eldian Restoration Movement’ has an informant in the Marley government called ‘The Owl’, who has been leading the group from the shadows.
- He supplies documents that supposedly refute Marley’s version of history. According to Grisha, Ymir Fritz used the power of the Titans to cultivate the land & bring wealth to the people of the world, not genocide & enslavement.
- The Owl also sends a woman named Dina Fritz, who is the last remaining descendant of the royal family. She eventually marries Grisha & *they have a son named Zeke*, whom Grisha believes is the chosen one due to his royal blood.
- The Marley government claims that King Fritz will soon declare war & they plan to recruit select Eldian children to inherit the 7 Titan powers that they possess to become "Warriors". Since only Eldians can turn into Titans, no other race can turn into Titans including Marleyans so they have no choice but to recruit Eldian children(Childrens tend to be more obedient). The recruits will also be considered ‘honorary Marleyans’. The Owl informs the Eldian restorationists that this is a cover for Marley to attack Paradis for its resources.
- They also learn that Marley has not attacked Paradis in the past because King Fritz had threatened to release millions of Titans from the walls if provoked.
- The Founding Titan that was taken to Paradis is crucial to the revivial of Eldia & since their goals line up with Marley i.e. infiltrate the walls & capture the Founding Titan, Grisha enlists his son as a Marley soldier.
- Zeke eventually betrays his parents & the Eldian Restorationists to the Marley government & they’re all sent to "Paradise" to roam the island of Paradis as mindless Titans forever. These same Mindless Titans also became a problem later for people within the walls since The Colossal and Armored Titan breached it.
Everything else is pretty self-explanatory. Some of these points might be obvious as well but there are others who might be overwhelmed by this massive infodump (like myself in the past).
I hope this summary simplifies the exposition & answers any questions that you may have. Not only is this a lot to process, it’s also extremely important as it now changes the entire scope of the story.
I feel like the people who didn’t like that end were a very small minority and most loved it, though I only started reading the manga once season 3 ended so a larger amount of manga readers might have.
I’m talking about the end of this episode@امير مادرا
Guys, this epidode is when you realize that the truth it's worst than you imagine.
This episode it's the point where the pain really starts... What a Insane history.

The First King *on the island
Trying to explain about "if youre born with titan transformation ability"
-Yes you die at age 13
-you are born as a normal baby
-you dont have to eat any other titan to transform into one
-when wounded, you wont transform into a titan unless you have a current goal in mind
The power being transferred to a random born eldian is not ideal cuz even the person born with the ability wouldnt know they have it not until they tranform. Even if they see memories of previous owner, the person would simply think theyre having some weird thought/dream especially if that person lives inside erens walls. That person "might" even die without even transforming
I AM HERE!
i like a lot your long discussion.
At 13:45 Eren Jaeger is just casually shown explaining the founding titan to Eren Kruger.
“Attack on Titan is Over the Hedge 2” 😂
The bomb they dropped in the end of the episode left my mouth hanging and i stopped breathing for a few seconds.
Armin's dad: What did you say?
Grisha: Name Armin to your son
SHINGEKI NO KYOJIN
Kruger was the Attack Titan. You guys mentioned that it looks like memories can be shared by the holders of a titan, even from the future.
Paradis had the Founding titan.
Marley had seven of the other titans.
Owl had the eighth, the Attack titan, in Marley, but made his own decision to give it away to Grisha, independent of Marley.
Reiner and Bertholt appear to be working for Marley against their will. Annie seemed to not care one way or the other, as long as she got back home.
You're very close to discovering why Marley did not have control of the Attack Titan. You've already discovered it, but you have not added it up yet.
I believe eren kurger sees erens dads memories cause erens dad said those lines to eren before injecting him .
For the next season, watch the bluray version of season 4 instead of the original because they remastered the season in the bluray to make it more HQ and close to realistic effects
I like Ben's notes in the intro. I'm surprised he make sense of them since they don't seem very detailed.
They are using the resource. The ice burst stone is the resource. That is being used for Powering the odm gear. But yes the people on the Island have no idea of how valuable the resource is.
And My god some theories were pretty accurate today. While it was kinda annoying when you were forgetting older info and reaching wrong conclusions. 😅
