Ah, my favorite OST in the whole series so far, The Fall Of San Magnolia. Shin said goodbye to Lena in his heart, cause he fully believes she's dead. It absolutely kills him that he can't go to San Magnolia right then and see if he can find her. Keep in mind, she was his reason for still living. Now that she's gone, what will Shin do?

It's impossible to be constantly loved by everyone, this show doesn't even focus much on the race aspect, and in the new country that's not a factor. What makes them truly different is their upbringing. But if you are in the spotlight enough, then you will always have enemies even in homogenous groups, that's how humans work.

I think you guys are going to really enjoy this series. I stumbled upon the manga several years ago and it's been my favorite ever since. The anime is very faithful to the manga (a lot of things are straight panels into shots) though some details do get left out to save time in the episodes. I'll hint that things do get more serious, in this episode you saw the living armors kill several people. The show is deceptive about how deep it is at the start. Pick at the details, make theories, have fun. Avoid spoilers! Count how many hairstyles Marcille has 😂

But Lena does know about the railgun. She, and the spearhead encountered it during a mission in the previous "sesson."

Ah I wanted to point out, you may be using the subtitles for the English dub, not the Japanese to English subtitles.

I'm just saying that, of the unfeeling monsters that eat humans have a boss title for you, and you're presented with boss music... You might just be a total badass. Which is hilarious when you think about what we know and have seen of Frieren so far. The kind of silly, lazy, sleepy elf who likes to just wander around looking for new spells she doesn't know yet for fun. Like, we know she's strong and was part of the hero party, but most things you see up to this point wouldn't have you think she was a stone cold killer of anything, even demons. The past two episodes really helped drive the point home that for Frieren, demons are just animals to be killed and nothing more.

I think spearhead and Lena know abt the railgun one of the early ep back at the republic the spearhead got nearly wiped with a "new long range weapon " and once again when our gang were on their special mission they got attacked with long range gun Why they don't want shin to hear abt Lena Just my thought but they could believe Lena is dead and they fear shin would break Every one in the gang as of the time being believe Lena is dead The republic didn't respond to fedracy - the legion moved the battlefield inside the district 1 -the vision Frederica of the burning flag yep they got wiped out

Your reaction to this show is already one of my absolute favourite reaction series, I love your ability to engage with the premise and your interest in the setting. I really hope you continue to stick with this series. Some of them might take some time, but all your questions will be answered!

24:30 they all understand that Shin particularly liked Lena, that's why Theo asks "don't tell me he doesn't realize it". 33:00 I take all the "dying is part of the job" stuff as the leadership being sarcastic and cynical about what they're doing, as an emotional defense mechanism. They understand what they're doing is awful, but they also know that they don't really have any alternatives. They get one shot at taking out the railgun, and nordlicht are by far their most capable unit. They've been at war with the legion for 10 years, this isn't the first time they've had to make tough calls like this, hell, many of them have been involved in such tough calls themselves. Like, if your options were to either send a couple of children to near certain death or possibly have the only countries known to still exist be assimilated by the Legion, you too would probably be making cynical excuses like "if they want death so badly, let's let them have it".

I love the character design of Dungeon Meshi. Japanese anime has big eyes, the same faces, and no personality, but this anime is Disney-like and expressive. And Marsil changes her hairstyle 36 times in 24 episodes. It's also great that it has a symphonic theme song like Indiana Jones or Star Wars, which is rare for an anime, and I love it.

There's a little information the anime didn't tell us about the new squad with the prototypes that the 86 are together with, all the soldiers are either retired soldiers or convicted prisoners since they couldn't make other people be guinea pigs on those machines, which was highlighted earlier when they said many people died testing the machines, so every one in that squad is "disposable" in a sense

I'm not the biggest fan of this show, but this episode came out I fully bought Lena's death. I thought that the balls to do something like this is extraordinary.

I think Shin believes Lena is dead. When he hears Lena's voice he thought she has been assimilated by the Legion and that shocks him during the fight. He then marks the Legion in the capital of the Republic. Then Lena's ghost appears with the rest of the dead 86. The way he said at 11:50 "Then I wanted you to live longer than we did" he has already given hope that she was going to. He says goodbye to her shortly after. He was crushed by that and was completely detached when sent on the suicide mission.

The animation really has that Trigger look in this episode.

That was Shin telling Lena to leave by herself and hope that there were other people out there and where she could head had the clearest path. If the Republic was getting railed, Lena would not abandon them, the Alba and the Colorata, to die. Now that the Legion is se5 up for this massive theater, it is massively likely kuch has changed anyway.

20:00 I was always under the impression that he said to "Forget the Republic" because they had information that the Republic had been wiped out by the Legion attack.

Shin is at the point where Death is always nearby (not because of him being the Headless Reaper or Undertaker) and he was always the one to live. "Why was I the only one to live, I should have died too along with them? Will I be remembered after I die? Will someone remember me after I die? Should I even Live?" (Not accurate) These are some of what Shin is thinking because when he dies will he be remembered or someone remember him? Not being remembered after you die is a lot worse than dying alone. That is why Shin takes a lot more risks in battle and when he is hearing the "The Dead," he just forgets and goes into berserker mode but with a really bad mindset. Remember what Federica said to Shin, "I knew it, you're just like Kiri." In time you will get to understand why she said that!
