Okay so my engine is a 2 HP which only has one coil so if I'm correct I only need to get one cable installed under the flywheel ?That's the one for the magneto I assume ?and then one other to ground

You are probably right but search for this type of accident on CZcams and you will find some scary fails. As for damage from a 6hp…I mean if you can’t get back to the boat for whatever reason and you are just bobbing out there, the 6hp may not be the worry…maybe it’s the 150hp coming through that doesn’t see your head bobbing about. Just sayin.
