Thank you, kodibass, That's what I'm going to do. Just want to share something I found while restoring my 59 Scott Mcculloch 10 hp. The rubber brake bleeder caps on late model fords like the 2008 f-150 make excellent grommets. Just cut off the sealed end with a scissors, and they will work great for carb adjustment needles, and shift rods in some lower units. Looks like factory. Thanks again.

Kodibass, good timing as my 71' 18 HP is in need of a kill switch. , PS, don't swallow that flashlight! Thanks for the video.Installing electric start is on my list, so if you do a video on that I'd certainly be a happy viewer.

+joanna bruno,, The sea dog MOB switch is mounted to the aluminium lower cowl pan on the motor, when the kill cord is pulled the circuit closes to the aluminum cowl through the metal seadog switch which grounds the points through the black ground wires attached to the points base frame. thanks,, kodi

  • @kodibassInsideoutboards

+Kuladeeluxe Yes, Just hook the New"" If you use the Sea-dog"" Kill switch to the existing 2 black wires, It will be both black wires hooked to the M--to--M on the Sea-dog switch, then you are good to go,,,, It is that simple,,, kodi

So ive got a 73 evinrude 25hp it didnt pee when i got it so i changed the impeller. That got it peeing again so i figured it was good and took it to the lake. Well i didnt get the tube back in the lower foot right and it overheated so i took it off when i got home saw it wasnt in right fixed it and changed the thermostat just to be safe. Before i put the new tstat on i started the motor just to see if water was making it to the thermostat and it was. So i took it back to the lake made one good pass and it overheated again and blew steam out of the exhaust. It idles fine and doesnt overheat but it only overheats under load. Any suggestions? I took it to a marine tech near me and hes having a hard time figuring it out.

  • @kodibassInsideoutboards

+john Streacker, Is your motor a Salt water motor?, If so there are a number of things that can be done to get them to run cooler, LMK, kodi

Sorry didnt realize i put my comment as a reply to another. So im gonna post it again. I have a 73 25hp evinrude. Its overheating. When i got it it wasnt peeing any water out of the leg so i changed the impeller and got it peeing. I also changed the thermostat and gasket took it out and it overheated again. It only overheats under load and its fine at idle any advice would be greatly appreciated.
