Love when a console’s best accessories come out at the end of its life cycle
it has still more than 1 year left and after that scalping starts for another year or two
assumidly if the switch 2 has a similar frame to the switch they'll release an updated version for that lol
This would have been really cool about 6 years ago. Can't justify buying that at the end of the Switch's life cycle.
Yeah, we've been seeing some cool alternative joy cons for switch recently. But at this point, I'm going to wait for the next Switch 2 and get one for that.
It's only at the end of its life when the manufacturer says so
I got the Hori Splitpad for Christmas. Not a bad thing for a Gift.
i mean, the Switch itself is not gonna disappear so if you have one it would still be worth it
Right cause we all know the switch can’t be used after the switch 2 comes out. High IQ take.
Riley: "Now I'm gonna go beat the boss..."
Crab Rave starts playing and Linus shows up with a health bar
Anything with Riley is like a roller-coaster of emotions.
He's my favorite LTT host.
💯
Our homie like he says in the intro.
Riley could review dishwasher detergents and I would watch every single one
Sounds like you'd enjoy Technology Connections 😆
@@a11aaa11a Ha, I do, actually!
Wow it really took them this long to come out with a decent one
Riley is probably one of the funniest on screen personalities at LMG. OML
he has his own way of combining words to build sentences that make me laugh all the time lol, can't explain what it is, he's the best
@Violant3 I remember a video where Linus was poking fun at his Ned Flanders demeanor but it's his sense of humor. He's hilarious.
this is actually kinda cool. A little late in the game but I love the idea of throwing this and an HDMI in my laptop bag and being able to doc my switch wherever
That's what I thought as well. This way I can keep my standard dock in my media cabinet and if I go out for a weekend or on vacation I can just take this controller with a spare HDMI cable without having to untangle the dock from my setup.
I've had mine for over a month, absolutely love it.
I love when Riley hosts videos 😊
2:56 Riley is staring straight into our souls 😂
The teleprompter is getting to him
Me: bought this a week ago
Also me: watches review of thing I’ve had for a week
I usually just watch reviews and search for the product before i buy it. After that i just mute the word and never look back. Too much trauma of a product getting a larger discount or a new problem just after the delivery.
@@pedro4205I do it two weeks after delivery, since it's an EU right to be able to send back any product purchased online within 14 days with no fees attached. That's how I got a 100€ discount on a 5800X3D right after I purchased it.
Is it actually good?
my splitpad got Stick Drift, so this Looks Like a Upgrade replacment?
Hows the dpad on it? Responsive?
I just ordered one to compare to my Nitro Deck! Will be doing a video on it when it shows up! ^_^ Thanks for sharing!
Idk why, but I really liked this video. Felt cozy or something.
no script😭
I think its because RIley opened up which I absolutely love
Riley: "now imma go beat the boss"
Also Riley: gets ass handed to him by Raven Beak
Exited for stuff like this for the next switch, hopefully happens sooner in the life cycle
Great review. Any ideaif the right thumbstick with do RFID scanning?
Riley was so cute this episode. He looked genuinely happy.
What about the PDP power surge problem 3rd party docks potentially have with bricking switch's that Wulff Den talked about in his video?
That hasn't been an issue for literally years.
At a first glance I thought that it was a clever way to add bigger battery on to it so you could also game longer without charging it, but it seems I was mistaken. This would not entice me because it lacks that and makes it so much bigger.
It’s about comfort for adults. I don’t think kids would, like this.
I have just the standard version of this before they officially released the dock, definitely a great attachment for the Switch.
What I like about this concept is that if you're the type to often dock and undock your switch, this will put wear on the grip's connector and not the switch's usb-C connector.
I have had to test a lot of Switch accessories to write reviews for work. The one thing that hurts more than it seems is the lack of hd rumble. It really sucks in games like Splatoon where even though the rumble motor they use is high quality the experience really sucks and you have to disable it because it just isn't designed for it. Had some problems with bad input latency lag on some of the 3rd party controllers I tried too. But they were better in some ways too. Weirdly the gyro was better than the both the Joycon and the official Switch Pro Controller with some of the third party controllers I tried. One had mouse clicks for the bumper buttons which was weirdly really nice
This actually seem pretty cool
3:40 "Riley, there's no time for caution!"
the design and button placement looks exactly like the dobe egg shell controller minus the dock ports
Just ordered one, hopefully is feels better in the hand then CRKD Nitro Deck.
But how it's rigidity compared to the nitro deck? I am debating which to get
Rebranded dobe eggshell 2 dock/controller. The Dobe one also costs less, but is a bit harder to find.
Third party accessories seem very compelling for Switch users. A grip controller that doubles as a dock for only ~5 dollars more? 8BitDo's Ultimate Bluetooth controller that has Hall Effect joysticks, turbo, back paddles, and customization for the exact same price as the the Switch Pro Controller but only without NFC, IR, and HD rumble?
That dock attached to the switch makes the switch what it should have been from the beginning
Would be pretty useful, if the gyro's sensitivity were adjustable so don't have to turn as much. Not bad for the price and they also do transparent/clear as well but sadly didn't get mention in the video.
This is awesome. I just got a switch but just the tablet. I was looking for good hall effect joycons and a dock. Two birds with one stone
I see that you used a classic launch spec Switch.
Would this still work with the ever-so-slightly wider Switch OLED? The difference in width is very slight, but absolutely a concern for actually plugging into those rails on the edges.
Pushing frames uphill xD Best way to explain it
peak Riley peformance 👌
5:57 Don't be frustrated.
The buttons have been the seem ever since the Super Nintendo (1991)
The Xbox-layout came ten years later.
It basicly followed the reversal of Sega controllers: AB instead of BA. And yes, the Sega layout in that case also came later. BA is the original layout.
I got the CRKD Nitrodeck which is similar. It's... OK. A bit pricey for what it is. With taxes and the exchange rate I paid about 100$ canadian. I've never had much trouble with stick drift, so I didn't notice a big difference. But they work. One thing that annoyed me is that the shoulder buttons are inconsistent. On the left they're nice and snappy. On the right they feel more... mushy.
One big plus I love is the Nitro is very chunky. I do recommend it for anyone with large hands. It turns the Switch into something much more grippable.
Thank you for the review! I almost pulled the trigger after watching Mad Little Pixel's review..
The shoulder buttons issue is with nitro deck yeah? I am thinking of buying something like this but debating which to get.
@@ahmedal-modaifea4457 I mean, maybe I was just unlucky. Most of the other reviews for it have been positive. And it's not unusable. I just don't know if I will be getting a second one the day this one wears out and does (if it does)
I had no problems with shoulder buttons, although I guess I would like them both to be mushy, because the ones I have sound like loud mouse clicks and it's pretty annoying.
Finally the switch can meet the feature set of the psp 2000
Do they sell a case that fits it? This would be great for when I travel for work.
I wish I would have bought steamdeck sooner. I haven't touched my switch since I got the steamdeck. When I did play switch I had the oled with hori pro joy cons they were nice, would rather have this, this looks sweet
It'd be kinda sick to see a phone/switch controller baked into 1. Have like a hideable usbc connection on tr cobtroller side as well as the vottom for switch.
This was good, I’m looking for a good desk set up for my rog ally , so many socks I have been looking threw , ugreen seems good and so does Jirsha or whatver the non RGB verison of the 10 in one
Worried at how easily the switch slides out of the accessories.
But I think the fact that you can slide your switch easily is because the model you are using is V1.
Probably the OLED version will have much snug fitting
Curious about the battery life i assume its similar to a regular joycon but I cant find anything referencing it
The dog ate the script so all that was Riley improvising 😂 great job!
This looks really cool, but like others have said, it being at the end of the Switch's life cycle isn't great. If I ever need a new dock I would highly consider this one. But it's a case where as cool as it is, once you already have a dock that works it's hard to justify spending another 60. Though the fact that it's a controller-dock combo does make it highly appealing despite that, as someone who still uses their Switch.
What would you recommend for someone looking to replace their joycons? Ive never bought any third party controllers for the switch before, so looking around im pretty baffled as to what would be the best purchase.
This guy is funny. Thank you.
I’m gonna get a right angled hdmi connector which should fix the issue of it being on top. Getting this seems smarter than buying both a controller and a 2nd dock for my computer desk
Riley is more pronounced and charasmatic in this video and I absolutely love it. Seems like the real him, as if he finally got over being camera shy in a sense. Good job dude, lets see more of this haha!

@@FrotLopOfficial smart men never get married 😎
@@AllahDoesNotExistI honestly agree with you lol. I love my girlfriend but I will never lock it into a marriage. Loyalty is more than a contract.
@@AllahDoesNotExistI take back my comment earlier btw (I made a stupid comment about divorce), sorry for being a loser, I was just in a bad mood lol. Hope you all have a wonderful day!
This might be the best wikipad for the Switch with the built in dock and non-stupid controls (I'm looking at you Nitro Deck). I'm going to wait for them to make a version with a second USB A port though. The regular dock has 3 USB ports and this controller is presumably using one for a wired Pro controller connection, so there should 2 ports free and not just one.
I almost bought a Nitro Deck Retro, but this is waaay better!! Plus I get a portable Dock with it! Only downside is I don't see a case with it..
Seems to be a must have, but I really want HD Rumble in Zelda!
We need atomic purple everything. My n64 and vtech phone back in the day made me so happy
Mario says: *NEXI-GO!*
Hello to "The best Samus Ever"... whoever that might be
Damn, this thing seems super cool, although I'm a little iffy on if I should get it given that the next Nintendo console is coming out soon(ish). Hopefully NexiGo makes a new one for the next console, and pretty early on into the life cycle too.
I seriously need a joycon alternative that doesn't have those annoying offset sticks. That's why I love so much the 8BitDo Pro 2, it's way better than the pro controller. I want something like that for the Switch in handheld mode.
Does it have its own battery or does it get all of its power from the Switch?
this concept is great, that looks wildly uncomfortable though!
This thing being basically a Dock is really cool, I bought myself a Nitro Deck, and irs pretty good, but taking Switch out from it every time I want to play something Docked is pretty annoying and it feels like I'm slowly killing it this way
I can't imagine hall effect joysticks really getting utilized on a switch 😂
Dang it: why wasn't this out a year ago when I bought a 3rd switch with the hori split pad that cost almost as much?
the only thing this needs is a built-in extra battery
If they added the game switcher to the cards holder, that would have made it perfect 😅
Awesome to see this right after I bought my nitrodeck 😭
No Dock, No Bills, and Probably No Chargeport
This is cool!
If only this thing came out like 6 years ago XD
I kinda want one, but I already have the GameCube coloured Nitro Deck. Seems the biggest advantage of this over the Nitro Deck is the dock functionality. Seems cool, but it’s not a huge deal to slide my Switch out of the ND and plop it into the normal dock.
Nitro Deck also has four mappable buttons on the back instead of two, though it lacks a turbo feature AFAIK. You can also disable the deadzones to take full advantage of the Hall effect joysticks
The Nitro Deck has dock functionality too, it's on the back
Not exactly, that's an "output" as in, use as a controller for a docked Switch. It's just a USB-C port, not HDMI like the Gripcon@@antibob72
@antibob72 no it does not. The one input port is for charging, and the other output port is strictly for wired controller mode. Unless that is what you by dock functionality..
Wow it really took them this long to come out with a decent one?
What do you mean?
Great and all but missed a crucial thing, should have included battery (power bank) to prolong gameplay!
Seems neat but I don't really use my Switch nearly enough these days to justify buying one, even if the price is quite reasonable for what you get. Kickstand is just for dock mode I guess? Unless you're using a wireless controller with it too, since the controllers don't seem to detach. An extra attachable battery pack could've been neat too but I guess you could just plug it into a portable power bank instead.
I love controllers with turbo buttons.
I use a turbo button wishing on shooting stars in Animal Crossing New Horizons. I just set it, and let it go all night.
YOOOOOOOY
Laser collection reference!
Just like a regular duck
A REGULAR duck.
Quack.
Whats that one limitedrungames partnered with
Wow that's a great idea. I think Switch 2 will use this system. Make it so Nintendo!
I know this isn't really about the video too much but I think the game sir G8 phone controller is something you guys should take a look at. It's got hall effect joysticks and it has made me hate using a switch and love making as many games on my phone function as possible, especially emulators like yuzu.
Maybe the best controller of that "stretch" style. I've had one since around launch and immediately returned the Kishi I had recently bought. The non-clicky face buttons and chunky triggers are amazing. Great for emulation, and it almost feels unfair to use in CoD:Mobile.
With all due respect, bro did not want to come into work today 😂
Damn... High expectations.
I normally HATE this style of slide IN controller for the switch, but the fact that it's also a DOCK... very cool, not cool enough for me to give up my GameCube Joycons though, those Nyxi Wizards have a hold on me :P
Riley's hair doesn't move at all during the video
Can anyone suggest a case that fits this?
Nintendo could do something like this for 2. I want 2 screens
Mobapad M6 HDs are king.
I’ve got the gemini 2, dunno if that’s the same thing. Cute purple colour, clicky buttons, im in love
I get that this is a sponsored product, but ngl it's a little odd not shouting out Sticklocks (presuming they fit)
riley been having a rough few days hope hes okay
Does anyone actually use them?
Are they good?
I look for a replacment for my split pad with stick drift and the could be a replacement with gyro and rumble.
The switch is so thin next to my Steam Deck, this makes it twice as fat, though I would like an extra dock for other TV's, and the broken joycon joystick makes this an interesting option.
it feels like just yesterday riley first appeared on this channel...
Console gamers: My console is dead before the next one exists.
PC gamers: This 30+ year old game still works, but wait, you bought Skyrim HOW many times?!
I think this video is not scripted
'It has to work harder to push the frames uphill...' You youngsters have it so easy with your Switch's and such. Why I remember back in my day, my poor GameBoy had to push frames uphill, both ways, in the snow, with no shoes....😜🤣
Pretty cool accessory! a bit late though.
The Crkd controller chipped the top corners of my OLED... So mad. Maybe I'll pick this one up instead.
No amiibo support, so just a different version of the CRKD grip. Oh well, pass!
Awesome review though! Riley brings us joy 🥹
Any reasons why there products come to late in the lifespan of the Switch? I'm not frequently playing on the switch, but years ago I played a few games, there were terrible in handheld mode with my big hands. But the market was not really there.
Thanks
That's pretty amazing for only $65. If I'd had that years ago, I would have been playing a lot more Switch all along. The stupid tiny little flat joycons always hurt my hand.
I’m actually looking for a good dock for my rog ally
Does it have NFC support?
