    To answer your question: I would trade my 2020 Y Long Range for the Juniper if it had an EPA estimated 500 miles of range. With a 500 mile EPA range, I would expect an actual range of 400 miles.

      It’s 621 miles of range. EPA would obviously not be under 221 miles… that’s not how epa testing works lmao

    As the owner of two EVs range anxiety is a real thing but the reality is it never really becomes a problem. It just takes a different mind set whenever doing a road trip. My own philosophy is little and often when it comes to charging.

    • @adamtech999
      @adamtech999  Před 2 měsíci

      Great to hear that. Right now, the charging infrastructure across the US is extensive, so range anxiety is not a problem. You can drive for 200 miles, charge, and continue your journey. But other markets are different; due to the scarcity of charging infrastructure, the demand for high-range EVs is higher.

    If I was Tesla, I would focus less on the tax credit(although nice)and more on offering battery technology with longer range and fast charging so users don't have battery anxiety.

  • @frenchydampier2209
    @frenchydampier2209 Před 2 měsíci +2

    I have no range anxiety. Long trips I’ll typically fly. It’s faster and almost as cheap.
    Daily driving is less than 50 miles. I get home, plug it in to 110 volts and the battery is full in the morning giving me another 320 miles.
    I have the 240 volt charger but so far no need.
    Trips to visit family can still be done without the need of on the road charging. Since I have that portable 110 V charger. I toss it in the frunk and could spend 6 hours on the road, charge overnight and come home.

    600 miles per charge? I'll believe it when I see it. Even if it were true, that will not be what they install in the cars. The battery will be cut into half to save on weight, cost and charging times. Realistically, IMHO they will still be looking at 300 miles with dramatic weight savings.

    • @adamtech999
      @adamtech999  Před 2 měsíci +1

    The MY SR with BYD LFP is now out for a bit over a year, I got one and can say that there is no real need for a LR battery. That BYD charges really good. Most of all, plug in at any SoC and get the 3C (charge curve is shifted). All other batteries Tesla uses are a bit outdated, lets hope that they will switch to the new 2024 LFPs. The BYD LFP is only available in some of the german made Y SR

      @@adamtech999 I think the long-term energy content is very high, but the load capacity is tiny at the nuclear "battery"...it's rather micro-Watts or milli-Watts then W or kW. A car battery must be able to provide 100kW for at least a dozen seconds, which IMO is not a feature of nuclear "battery"

      @@adamtech999 The problem is Tesla has proven itself not to be the most truthful company. The whole self-driving issue. Few are going to take their word for anything. They will have to prove themselves from here on out. It has helped immensely reducing the cost and especially low-cost leases. I know of a couple of people who have taken advantage of the low-cost leases that wouldn't have purchased or leased otherwise. $300/month for three years for a Model 3 is tough to beat

    Nobody can afford $100,000 EVs. Nobody can afford $40,000 EVs. That's why in other parts of the world they make $15,000 EVS and even $10,000 EVs. So you need to stop blocking the import of the normal price EVs they make another parts of the world... And stop BS-ing us that $40,000 EVs are "affordable" EVs

    • @adamtech999

      $15k car? Are you stuck in 1970? The average price of a new car in the US is over $47000 (EV or GAS), so yeah, saying nobody can afford $40,000 doesn't explain how in 2023 15.5 million cars were sold and that is WAY up from 2022. Like 11% higher. So most people buying cars have can indeed afford $40k which is exactly why they sell.
