No criticism Kate your your reviews are great down to earth and very informative
I watched a review of this from another bike channel , Mark Pulling based in Dorset. He also loved it. 2 years ago I paid just over 5K for a 2008 GSA . Feels like a bad deal compared to this kind of value now. The Chinese are upping their game ! Beware all the big boys.
Great review as always Kate.
Ohoooh! Preproduction! Kate is becoming important! Well, she already was for us. 😘
Oh shucks ☺️
It is NOT pre-production. They have been being sold in Europe for months. It might be new to the U.K. market but that’s completely different.
@@UsernameKate they are by all accounts well made irrespective of it's price which is quite amazing.. shame about the weight for a 500.. pick it up girl.. you'll see how top heavy it IS.. just 10kg lighter than the 800 so WHY would ya .. do a side by side of the two models .. oh, & , it's nothing like an inline4 there's no buzz it's a 180deg twin forget the 270deg fad for sound .. as for the standy upy thing.. "adventure" riders 🤧😷🤕 .. cheers from the antipodies
I have been looking for one for sale here in South Yorkshire, can’t find anywhere that’s selling this model yet. I really love the look of the bike. Great review for me. I am just a little taller than Kate, I am struggling with my Varadero XL1000 it’s too heavy. I’ve already dropped it in the garage. Sick of it. 😂
@@JiP2944 if the brands can make 1000cc superbikes that weight 170kg with all their power & stresses.. WTH can't they shave weight off these grossly overweight slugs.. the 20yr old tdm900 weighs 190kg & a torquey 85hp with heavy cast wheels, twin disks & fairing etc.. I'm sure 10- 20kg could be shaved off it
I've had this bike's predecessor, the Voge 500DS, for a year now after a few years with an old 955i Speedtona. It's my only vehicle (until my old Thruxton 900 is restored) so it gets daily use in all weather. As far as reliability goes it's not given me any problems worth writing a postcard about, and just like the new 525DSX it's a sweet-handling machine and the front end gives shedloads of feedback; the engine is great, too, and with 20,000 km on the clock it's starting to come into its own (incidentally, Loncin make the engine for the Honda CB500X which is practically identical). I use it for everything from commuting into Barcelona to riding the local twisties and I even use it to guide motorcycle tours. I'll be borrowing a 525DSX when I take my 500 in for its next service, but the Voge I'm really looking forward to is the upcoming 900DSX.
Loncin do not make the engine for the Honda.
Great video Kate love your enthusiasm no matter what motorbike you are on
Thank you! 😀
I am grateful to have stumbled on your channel Kate.. I love the bike and I love you! Great review! Subscribed
Great review , got to search out one of these for a test later in the year .
Nice look’n bike Kate, and overall a fair and honest review.
The spec you outlined is unbelievable and can see the established manufacturers having to seriously review their existing pricing structure for their smaller capacity machines. 👍.
Great review, thank you. Potentially a bit of a wake up call for the big four.
Excellent review thanks!
Another great review well done you
Hi thank you for the review it looks amazing it wood be all I wood need I enjoy the video you are all ways excellent rider I hope to try one and my be get one God bless
What a lovely review!
Thanks for the review I’ve just ordered this bike 👍
Congratulations Kate for new bike
Fantastic review Kate 🎉🫂👏👏👏👏👏👏👏😉
Phenomenal equipment list ! Love the tubeless tyres , at this price.
Good to see you covering the other end of the financial spectrum, unlike others. Keeping it real for us Kate! As for the bike - that's one heck of a lot of bike for the $$. I think it looks pretty good too. If I was still a commuter rider - I would deffo seriously consider it...
Great review Thanks...
That camera built in is a great feature with modern driving standards.
If this holds up to the weather properly, it’ll be quite the bike.
Nice review, Kate.
Another fun review, that bike would appeal to many young riders, ideal first proper bike
This is just what the average person wants, affordable bikes. And to be fair it's a decent looking bike with some good tech.
I think it looks quite pretty and well thought out 😊
What an awesome bike i love the fact that its very affordable so most people would be able to get one if they wished to and its the sort of bike im into aswell so it's something to consider in a couple of years when i go for my full license
It’s an A2 bike.
As a short-arse man with a 29in inside leg, you gave me all the info I needed in the first few minutes. Great test video, I have subscribed! Cheers.
Thanks so much Greg! I appreciate you! 🙏
It looks great: Good price and amazing specs: really impressive good video 👍
Wow, very interesting and informative content
I will visit Voge Store in the Philippines ASAP
thank you so much
Kate🙏
I hope the reliability and build quality works out as on paper and with your review it’s a very nice package for the money.
I ride one of these months ago, in France. Last September I took my 2021 CB500X to the dealer that I had just ordered a Voge 300 Rally from to have a new rear tyre fitted and he asked it I wanted to test the DS525X while he was changing the tyre. I did so I did. It was a really good motorcycle to ride and the standard equipment on it was amazing given the price. It has several features that my Honda does not and overall I couldn’t fault it. To ride it was very like the 500X but having less than 10km on the clock I couldn’t really make any performance comparisons. Riding the bike is a good place to be, high up and comfortable. I would certainly recommend anyone looking for a lower middleweight adventure bike to consider one. Having ridden for about 45 minutes on back roads with a bit of off-road thrown in I returned to pick up my Honda. I then rode home, an hour’s ride. Did I wish that I had left with a brand new Voge DS525X instead of my 20,000km Honda? Did I wish that I was riding that fully loaded attractively styled new bike? Would I be returning soon to order one? Well, actually, no. The Voge was great but at the end of the day the Honda has that little something that makes it so special to me. It felt just that little bit better to me. That the Voge came that close is in itself a compliment. Many people don’t believe me but the 500X is the best bike I’ve ever owned. It’s not the fastest, it’s certainly not the most expensive nor one that’s loaded with gadgets or bling, it just does the job that I want from my touring motorcycle to do. It carries me and my camping gear to everywhere I want to go in comfort and safety. It handles beautifully and and is 100% reliable, and since trading in the Pan European that I’d owned for nine years my annual mileage has doubled. For me it’s a better touring bike than a Pan European and that says it all. That Voge have come so close to making a bike that’s equally good says a huge amount about the DS525X too. If only the anti Chinese crew would allow their prejudices to let them try one they might start to change their mind.
PS I didn’t mention fuel economy… If the DS525X comes close to the 500X on that score then Voge might really have (another) winner on their hands.
Great summary. I'm riding CB500X as well. I owned Benelli BN302 3 years ago and it was a nightmarishly unreliable bike. If Voge can beat Honda CB500X's reliability (Which is probably unrealistic since no other brands can do that) then sure I'll buy one but after 3 years of Chinese brand bike ownership, unless I get paid to ride one, I would never purchase one especially since I'm already riding world's best ADV bike.
The two things that bother me about Chinese bikes are:
1. Quality. This isn't prejudice: I've heard bad things about even quite recent ones from dealer mechanics who have to work on them day in, day out.
2. Long-term support. Chinese brands and importers seem to come and go with the seasons. I've had the experience of buying a rare bike then having the only dealer within a 40 mile radius drop the brand before, and it's a royal PITA. I bought an Aprilia when the _importer_ was in my home town, which should have guaranteed some security, but a couple of years later they buggered off to Scotland and all the local bike shops suddenly stopped being dealers.
@@MrHws5mp On point 1... KTM have many mechanics and plenty more users bemoaning the fact that the crankshaft issue hasn't been solved for years and years. Yet people still buy/love them. Reliability for me is why I love Honda (and assume most other Japanese bikes are up there). But anything else is equally risky in my mind - especially when we keep seeing KTM issues.
@@thebrowns5337 The don't call them Katie-Booms for nothing...
can you tell me your height and weight?
Mmmm,,, 🤔, looks good,
I definitely think it should come with heated grips. Maybe the cruise n quick shifter, possible optional extras? centre stand as standard spot on.
It's definitely worth a look at.
Great vlog Kate.
Take care, stay safe 🏍 👌 👍
18:09 min. A deluge is also an adventure! So no reason to complain, right? That’s the true UNK spirit! 👍👍
Beautiful bike! If only Suzuki had hired these chinese designers to create the visual concept for their V-Strom 800...
A brilliant review, I hope they are in Australia because I am about to buy a new bike. The best bike I have owned was a Speed Twin 500cc and I was going to purchase another Triumph but if the DS525X is available in Oz I will give it a try first.
Cruise control is a must for my needs, esp when I commute long distance..
Loving the reviews, keep em up
I have to say for a smidge above 6k, I'm impressed!
A ray of sunshine on an otherwise gloomily gloom day, I agree its a looker kate.
Happy riding
I think it resembles the cf moto ibex 800..same blue and silver paint scheme and gold wheels..I would really like to ride this bike. Thanks for the review!
Impressive bike with accessories, good price and the look!! 6000€ in Serbia with 3 years warranty (the Honda NX500 is 8000€ in my country). Tomorrow beggin the Belgrade auto-moto show and will see all the new bikes so far for 2024. Lovely review, cheers ✌️ it
Great review it looks like a smaller version of the CFMOTO 800 MT
I'm sure Kate, mark pulling has done a review on this bike from Poole Moto... Good bike for the price, not everyone has thousands to spend on our toys xx fab review
Way to go Kate first time, here I ve ridin bike all my live raced MOTO when I was younger Kawasaki KX 250 and a Honda CR 500 and had a couple street bike but nothing like an ENDURO dual purpose .II would purchase one of these if they were ever brought to the states I guess alll in due time. Thanks Again DMac the states Cheers
Great review as always Kate. With people having to be more savvy with rheir money this looks a good option. I know the previous 500 voge had some quality issues im sure they ill have upped their game. The Benelli TRK702X looks well made as do the CF Motos and news of a KTM 1290 based CF Moto 1250MT is sure to shake the industry up. With the cost saving a nice set of ultimate addons heated grips would do the trick
I am looking for a bike like that. Unfortunately here in western Canada, if anything goes wrong with that thing NOBODY will even look at this, will be hard to sell. It's probably awesome...
Well done Kate. You said exactly what I thought about the bike, that I would pay that little bit more for CRUISE CONTROL. The other additions you can well do without. CRUISE just helps your long days that little bit more satisfying. THANYOU DUCK. 👍👍👍Oh yes the SUMP GUARD too. DEFFO
I really can’t see the point of cruise control on a motorcycle. Please explain the advantages.
Like the Hardcore Henry style hand movements at 4:40 :)
Haha what a wild film that was 🤣 forgot about that one!
Great review, as always. Have they made a mistake by giving it 47.6 hp as it just misses out on A2 licence holders as standard.
good review
We in thailand, hope it makes its way here, it looks really interesting
That's a sweet looking bike 🤌🏻🤌🏻💯
Great review, alot for the money..
Love it when they starting production love the review ❤
I think... don't quote me, they should be in dealers from April
That’s a lot of bike for the money, Chinese bikes are improving at a fast rate😊
And the mainstream competition are looking more and more like rip offs as a result.
Magic stretch gloves, you can usually get them on market stalls for about a quid a pair, they look like kids size and stretch to fit an adult. Great for wearing under riding gloves in winter. The fingers go through pretty quick but a quid for a month or two is not a bad deal.
Very Interesting !!
Looks a great bike for that money Kate and you seemed very happy with it. The only elephants in the room are perceived reliability, which you mentioned and let's not forget depreciation. The Honda NX500 is obviously more expensive but its a Honda so servicing, durability and dealers all over the country are a given. Second hand values reflect desirability something the Chinese have yet to have.
The VOGE dealer network is actually quite big already it's just not as visible as Honda per say as they don't have big flash solus dealers.
You are right with values but it is all relative.
Though I do think that the whole future value thing does take too much space in people's thought patterns as if you're buying a bike based on its future value and not the value it'll give you during ownership you might be buying the wrong bike... Just a personal opinion.
Chris 💪
@@kdmotorcycles9530 i think its both. you should definitely buy a bike for the value you'll get as the owner but unless you know for certain that you'll be keeping the bike forever or are rich enough that you don't care, value retention is also an important factor
What's the warranty (if any) like? and what are the service intervals like?
It's definitely at a great initial price point.
Hei Ka Very good review of Voge 525X motorcycles.Looking better than other Adventure motorcycles of 500 cc segment.I have enjoyed a lot.I want to know the Top Speed of Voge 525x
Great value for money that 💪👌
Chinese bike manufacturers have certainly up'd there game recently. Releasing bikes that are packed with spec and features for not a great deal of cash. They've also getting the styling and attention to detail right. Could start getting difficult for more traditional manufacturers specially justifying the price!
Italians are buying this motorcycle like hotcakes, best buy 2023 in this category. A very good motorcycle, with all the accessories and a good machine for a reasonable price!!! The Japanese and European manufacturers exaggerates with prices for motorcycles without basic accessories. So how do the Chinese get there? Knowing that almost all of them have contracts or construction in China, Vietnam or India. The Chinese brands as Cfmoto, QJ, Kove or Voge are going to devour the market!!! A matter of time. Cheers and thanx for the video :)
Especially as the global financial collapse kicks in.
People will be looking to cheaper options; but perhaps that might also force the big brands to discount heavily in order to keep market share, like Yamaha did back in the day (2008) when they'd sell you a brand new FZ6 for £3,000 out the door, with £300 cashback!
Its like everything, if you want quality you Will pay for that, but if you want Chinese garbage you pay for garbage!! Its Simple as that!!
Ohhh yes I have a garbage in my Garage 😢
And I already try to sell her but Iose almost 85% of her value
Chinese garbage never again even consider the lower price
@@ouric Where do you stand on the new 790 KTM that is being built in China ? Does the KTM brand outrank the "Made in China" label.
@@bobturnbull18 and you believe that’s the same thing? 🤣🤣🤣
My old “friend” Albert once said “two things are infinite the universe and human stupidity and i'm not sure about the universe”
Man… he was f’ckng right 🙄🙄🙄
@@ouric The same as what ? Made in China the same as "Made in China" ?
I have the lexmoto pioneer 500x, it has the same hardware, KYb, Bosch, nissen. ive had mine a year and no problems with it.
Great review kate I think it stacks up well against my F650gs twin for the price. OK that is a 2012 bike but its a BMW so not cheap and I have had to uprate the suspension and wheels to make it good. It's not my only bike so don't use it for everything. (oxford heated grips pretty cheap to fit).
Your BMW will have a Chinese engine so you’re half converted.
That's nice. Like spicy Szechuan adventure 😋
Hi Kate, Like the vlog do think the bike is trying to disguise itself as some think else hence why it has only put a little badge Voge on the side. I do get it that it is not in full production here. Also worry about the electrical side of Chinese bikes as they are the worlds worst. But on the good points it is about time some one has lowered the seat marginally for us short arse riders I'm 29" leg also. Love adventure bikes just not the heights, shit should of been a poet.
Love the varying topics that you get up to and I think that is what makes you very popular and your a northener as well 😂👍
Lovely bike indeeeed
Looks good ! Would be great if they did a 1000cc ish version with more power
There is a DS900X with 94bhp 😊
I hate looking thru screens as well. The only time I ever dropped my bike was when I put on a super tall windshield on my Softail custom. I ended up rear ending an Amazon van. The only real damage was to the screen. I took that as a sign. I left it lying on the side of the road.
Kate uploads, I watch, I am entertained!
Kate uploads, @Keridus comments, I smile :)
Will be interested to see your comparison if you can get hold of the CF Moto 450MT.
That one looks to be more off road focused...
Thanks Kate! I think practically all tires are tubeless, but with spokes like that, I'd bet they inner tubes in there.
Tubeless not tubes. This is a plus for this bike
Such a great review just wish I was taller 😂
Great review and nice bike. But it’s a pity you will be lucky to get a Xmas hamper when you trade in .
It's all relative when it comes to values, that's the thing.
You buy a bike for double the money, you will get a bit more back.
It's all percentages which all work out roughly the same.
If the bikes become ridiculously popular as exceed sales expectations the used values will hold.
Cracking video (again!) Young Kate! You're rather good at this! 😉
YOUNG! I'll take that and run 🏃♂️💨 no take backs 🤣
@UsernameKate it's all relative Kate 😂
Aye there is that!
Hey Kate, great review. How does it compare to the Honda NX500? Iooking at ADV for my first big bike 🏍 👌
I haven't ridden it! I'd love to though! 😊
It definitely looks good! Aside from reliability, I feel like dealer availability might be a bit of an issue. Overall seems like great value 👍👍
They are being imported and distributed by the biggest motorcycle group in the UK with 16 dealers of their own plus the 100s of dealers that are stocking VOGE across the UK so network etc is already in place
Nice bike! Am more interested in the 450 Adv. Lighter this one is more tourer for me like the BMW GS etc.
P s The crash bars I think come with which is nice.
Great review of a nice bike
Thank-you!
Best CP value bike at this segment for sure👍 ❤❤❤❤
Hi Kate, another great review. Do you think it would make a good beginner bike?
Yes definitely 😊
Cracking bike for the money. What's insurance costs like not sure if you mentioned it.
maybe value for the money rather than budget you're spot on with the price of new bikes cars and second hand prices if voge can do this why is the honda 750 transalp so much more expensive and that would be for the base model quite impressive bike food for thought thanks .
Could you fit decent panniers especially with the high exhaust? Thanks for making these informative vids Kate
Good question but certainly :) www.kdmotorcycles.co.uk/new-bikes/bike/2024-voge-ds525x-tourer-1605
5999 with panniers and box. 5499 as standard.
amazing review. what information you want for a decision. You make the bikes look good which is most important. I had an Aura 125 by Lexmoto great little bike however the dealership networks let these bikes down as they do not know how to work with them and often cause them damage without the skill to rectify them. I had to find Lexmotos manufacturer to ask them for help with my bikes, my Aurs was made by Longia the new Nexus was by a company called Taro motorcycles and Lexmoto seem to have a new partner every year, my main gripe is they drop models quickly and have no after sales support or service from the dealerships unlike the more established brand despite chinese motorcycle parts online having parts which puts me off these bikes now.
Informative video crocodile. Looks like a good deal. The negatives you highlighted are mostly fixable too.
OK you've convinced me. Bring it out to me, and i'll gladly throw a leg over it and, "get up quickly to naughty numbers" and hope it doesn't complain about it.
My impression of Voge certainly seems to be getting very good, very fast, if all these positive Vlogger videos really do rate Voge as good as they are telling us...,
oops, now i've just admitted to watching other bike vloggers! Sorry Kate, but not very often, and not without a bad concience..., you know you're my favorite!!
I use the plastic petrol station gloves...x2 pairs when it's really cold.
There really is, no such thing, as a bad bike, these days. If a tight budget, is your thing, then i say, go for it. Just remember though, it's not a done deal, if it doesn't leave you with a smile.
You're exactly right!
Looks excellent value for money and I for 1 will be buying. A shame about no cruise control personally I would sooner that than traction control. Again personally for carrying soft luggage touring it would be preferable for the silencer to be down low under the frame like the CFMOTO.
What it`s missing are not to be found on some other bigger more expensive bikes or are costly extras on the competition. I was impressed watching Mark Pullings review yesterday, glad this is gonna get the air time. It's certainly one to consider. Crackin vid..👍🏍️👍 nice one
Thank you! 😊
Great review Kate, but I still am very weary with Chinese bikes,, see how they are after a couple of thousand miles on clock.
Check out Nathan the postman review of voge 300 rally. 2trips to alps and Spain. Lands end John o groats. 7000miles. Spot on
Nice for the price. Would like to know what it's like owning one: reliability, servicing etc
Thats an honest review that deals with the emergent Chinese motorbike issue in a fair manner. Loncin (under contract from Rotax)made the engine for my 2007 BMW 650 Xcountry. It has ridden 70,000km without protest, I easily get 30km/litre (3.7lt/100km) at an easy pace. Some of these bikes have ridden up to 200,000km, so that is testament to the build in general and specifically to Loncin's ability to build quality. The final truth is, that we are all riding Chinese bikes in some form or other, whether we know it or not. I've subscribed, after enjoying the refreshing manner that you do your work and the passion for riding that you demonstrate.
Cheers from Holland.
Not true
@mikep2563 most eloquent of you. You must be a blast to have a discussion with. Being such a good judge of the truth must be a real show stopper. Do you have any other deep insights?
8:57 I reckon that golf driver got a few choice words thrown at it. 😂
Let's wait for 800cc version :)
The new 900 version is on the way 😈
I had the 500DSX, I found the engine harsh at higher speeds, TPMS inaccurate and ext temp readout wildly inaccurate, but the deal breaker was the seat. I'm 6'2" and the seat pushes you forward due to it's shape and was hard, so after an hour I was glad to get off it. Shame because as you say, lots of quality components.
This is a whole new bike compared to the 500DSX... Looking at the way VOGE is going they have paid attention to the experiences of owners etc.
I kate I think this was one of your best videos, the quality, picture and sound was excellent. I like the look of the Voge DS525x keep looking over your shoulders, Triumph & BMW as the Chinese are coming for you. It would be nice to see a video on the Voge 900. Take care
Nice looking bike for the price
Really lot of bike for the money..and looking good too..
22:18 if you can tell us more about this lil camera like How it works ?
Good review Kate 👍
You're right about heated grips, far more useful than "Nightrider" indicators. But Triumph took the (standard equipment) heated grips off the T120 and gave us CC instead - clearly pandering to the North American market 🙄. It doesn't look like the Voge has RBW throttle though, so implementation of CC on this bike would've been technically tricky?
Haha but it wouldn't be tricky if it has ride by wire throttle. I reckon they go hand in hand so that's why I didn't mention it specifically 😊
Hey Kate great job on the voge 525 and when I can get that bike in America I’ll buy it thanks again for your channel
