Actually, the more talented you are, the more you need to be disciplined, work on your creativity (ability to generate original contributions) and be surrounded by people more talented, determined, inspiring, passionate (not ambitious), enthusiastic, knowledgeable and dedicated than you.

Andy, definitely enjoyed listening to you today. I can't help but run mental images of you in your Andersen days, buy in, logical constructions of "best practices" from Hiebeler, Kelly, and Ketteman , the great stories and people and business units etc you could recount would certainly entertain, not to mention a roladex of relationships , so tempting, yet today seems the message is deep one about loyalty to oneself, what one can control, discipline doing vs. external motivations/motivators.
Discipline vs external
Doer vs. Creator
Who vs Who not.
The question im left asking is how does one know if at the end one's life, one's internal compass hasn't led them to an outdated desired outcome on the arc created by changing internal truisms?
Enjoy what you’re doing at any moment in time and you’ll never need to worry about those types of questions. Give value to the world and others and you will have lived a great life with no regrets!
