The results are spectacular! While the GT4 RS is built for the track, Henry Catchpole conducts a real world 1,700 mile road test review through Europe to see if this is one of the all time greatest Porsches...you know, just to be sure. With a carbon air intake placed right behind the driver, it is surely going to sound phenomenal. You're going to want to wear headphones for this one!

Would you pick the GT4 RS or the GT3? And Why?
Even though this isn't a manual like a GT3, I would take this GT4 RS â€ïž
GT3. Not even close
GT3 all day long. But in truth I would rather have a GT3touring, the ride is nasty in a GT3, only been in the 991.1 model but my god it is harsh.
I would say GT4RS, reason is it's the more special car, a recipe we have been asking Porsche for decades to do it, a GT3 engine in a mid engine Cayman!!!!
Also what is special about this car it's one of best sounding cars from inside (there's no regulations inside) but outside there's regulations that hurts both of these...
Big question will be this or GT3RS and to me I will already say GT3RS for how crazy it will be!
I would pick up a Miami Blue GT4 RS with Weissach Pakette.
Thank you all for watching - it was certainly one of the best but busiest road trips Iâve ever done. Trying to visit plenty of locations, film them and get the mileage done in such a short space of time was quite the challenge (hence looking a little knackered in the museum!).
Those of you that have pointed out that this was was on the aluminium not magnesium wheels and aluminium not titanium cage are absolutely right - mea culpa. I hate getting things wrong, but at least it means the ride is fabulous even without the lightest rims!
Anyway, please do subscribe to the channel etc if you havenât already - it really does help. Thank you.
Henry, you did it again.
Your 991.2 T review made me to buy one. Still got it and love it to the bone. Then the 718 GT4 video got me to the point to buy one for the track. Ok, meanwhile it's upgraded to a GT4MR. And now this. Man, i wasn't realy convinced with the order i placed for the GT4RS end of last year. The look doesn't grow on me and i heard and saw the car two weeks ago IRL at the ring and was - to be honest - truly disappointed about it.
After that smile after the launch i'm want that car so bad. 9 months to go.
Your reviews are truly the best out there. Thumbs up!
Brilliant work Henry, really smashing stuff if i do say so!
What i'm wondering is what that watch you're wearing is?
As glorious as driving the GT4RS must be, did you ever catch yourself thinking âI really must come back in summer and do these roads on the bikeâ?
Brilliant scoop getting to take the RS back to Germany, because even Andreas Preuninger said the GT4RS was not the sort of car you would choose to drive "from London to Liverpool." But, you drove even FURTHER and helped people like me understand what the seats and chassis and everything else would be like on an extended trip. The fact you said you would do it all over again was an endorsement. You even fitted in a 0-100 kmph test, realising 3.2 instead of Porsche claimed 3.4 secs (or did you do 0-60 mph which is very slightly shorter?). The standard wheels on this RS are IMO the best looking wheels Porsche have done, and certainly better than the expensive optional magnesium wheels. Great review and a great car, one that will put a smile on many faces, even if few can ever drive it.
Excellent film and review. After growing up reading mags for reviews, itâs hard to believe that car journalism of this niche and calibre could be free. Thanks âfection team.
Couldn't do it without your support!
I let all the adverts play right through and clicked on each one to let the YT algorithm reward Carfection for this quality of content as much as it possibly could.
It really is quality, isn't it? đ

@@Carfection What is the width of the front wheel 8.5 inches or 9 inches ? I am assuming that the rear wheels are still 11 inches wide.
THE SOUND!
Can't believe there is a road named "NA 718". Superb detail for a video like this.
Damn! I wanted to write that!
The induction roar sounds unbelievable. Never heard anything like that in a GT3. Second only to an e46 M3 CSL I'd say.
This is a bucket list type of car. Just unbelievable engineering.
Portugal and that Estoril track are the best. Trying not to be jealous, Mr. Catchpole and I'm failing.
Instant classic. GT4 RS is THE dream car.
All the CZcamsrs drop the gt4rs on the same day, had to come to this channel first, then smoking tire.
It's a good day.
Thanks for checking our film out first!
@@Carfection it's my pleasure.
I was born 42 years ago in the incomparable city of Salamanca, and it has given me great satisfaction to see you driving this beautiful Cayman along Calle Balmes and Cuesta de Oviedo, two streets belonging to the historic center of my city. Regards and thanks for your visit.
Fantastic video! Well done Henry and the team. Some great hairpin shots and you captured the engine symphony beautifully. Truly great work đđ
Thank you for the high praise
Where did you place the microphones for the engine sound? Sounds amazing!

Mate...this is genius automotive story telling. Thank you....and a big thanks to the photo and film and edit. Perfection!
Thank you Matty
Just 2 corrections if I want to be picky on otherwise amazing video:
1. This car doesn't have the magnesium wheels, it have standard wheels.
2. The roll cage in this is aluminium not the titanium, the titanium doesn't come with blue color.
God you sound like a fun guy đ
Ok picky guy
Simply another level of car reviews, fantastic. Youâve captured what ownership of a GT4 RS should be, seeking adventures and experiences đđœ
This is what I love doing with cars. Driving them. Taking road trips in your current favorite car is such an amazing experience. Even if some of them are uncomfortable or inconvenient. Doing this type of thing will help you differentiate the feelings you get from each car. I believe this is the only way to own a car.
just, THE CAR, THE SOUND, THE SOUL, THE PERFORMANCE.....THE PERFECTION.
Henry, the more I watch your videos, them more I am convinced that you're currently at the apex of automotive journalism. Nothing gets close to Carfection these days, really. Keep up the great work!
Mr. Catchpole...
You have THE best job in the world.
What a car!
I'd take the GT4RS any day...Perfect size and mid-engine layout. Utopia.
Titanium exhausts Dirrrty in Sound and Appearance!!absolutely Brilliant Thank you Again Henry :)
I have never ever hear better mechanical sound by any car ever .There was superb sounding cars ,but no one as pure as that one .
Very nice video gents. The time the RS set in Germany was not the real time IMO. They were sandbagging as they didnât want it to be fester the GT3.
Oh yeah finally the Cayman gets the full RS treatment :D. This will be awesome Henry :)
We hope you like the film!
@@Carfection I did :)
This is the best piece of car journalism Iâve ever seen. Absolutely amazing.
As good as it gets. A car enthusiasts dream car driven by one of the very best car journalists ever. Once again Henry Catchpole presents in such a way that you feel youâre experiencing the car as you watch with just the right amount of everything included. Exquisitely shot too.
Absolutely brilliant.
Seems like it will be another great GT car from Porsche. However, very few will be able to get one, even if they can afford it. In the US, the bulls**t games that dealers play with lists and markups ($100k over sticker is normal for a GT3) will just make it nearly impossible, despite Porsche claiming "anyone who wants one will be able to order one". Sorry, just doesn't happen. The dealers will burn their allocations on their own floor models, charge 50-100% more, and make you think they are doing you a favor.
Sad times.
Well said. I'm not making anyone rich and I'm certainly not giving a dealership that much free money. They can take it and shove it.
Yes good point on that.
Even for people who want them to drive, how many will actually take them to track days that much? Most track days are full of Caterhams, Elises, modified MX5 / Fiesta ST etc, these RS Porsches used to be there more but are people worrying about resale value even if not flipping them.
A victim of its own success? Great engineering though.
100% even if itâs a three year production I donât see myself being able to get one.
100k over sticker ? Lol I mean the the dealer knows my dad n hes never paid a penny over msrp but hes no 1 special ( besides the fact that hes my dad ) NEVER PAY OVER MSRP I wouldn't but of course my educations not special lol
@@shawnhicks9838 - Porsche dealers favor non flipping customers. If your dad is purely a collector and a good customre, he will get all the new GT cars at MSRP.
Fantastic review Henry, well done⊠easily the best car journalist of today! The RS looks insane :)
Matt Farah is ok too. Anybody but that idiot Doug.
theres a lot of great ones w sensational production thankfully today- jason cammissa, chris harris, james & thomas from throttlehouse, matt watson, savagegeese, straightpipes for more casual etc
@@alalal123421 I can't stand TheStraightPipes. The rest you mentioned are great though.
Henry, always appreciate your videos such a beautiful art. The quality of the sound on that windy road was music to my ears. Beautiful balance of ariel shots, in cabin and that sound đ
Terrific, absolutely terrific! I really enjoy the longer form reviews. Thanks you very much Henry and rest of the Carfection team for all your hard work in producing the very best automotive content available.
I'll put my money on evo's car of the year.
Iâd bet the house on that outcome.
I think they should just give it first place then do a test for a second place lol, this car is unmatched by anything else, I can't believe some guys thought Z06 is better than this lol
It's in with a good shout. But there are some awesome cars coming out this year.
I don't get why you guys don't have 4/5 million subscribers, Your cinematography is outstanding!! The best by far!
Man, the deja vu beginning and end was brilliant! another fantastic review carfection! you guys are incredible, I'm consistently blown away by the work you put in, just astonishing quality rivaling top gear in production value.
Always happy to see Henry on this channel reviewing the best cars like he's living every moment of it. Loved the review and love the car even more!
What a machine! Lovely work, guys. Perfection from Carfection, as always! Also, that deja vu bit was epic haha.
After watching this I get this feeling that I just watched a man fall in love. Bravo! Fantastic film.
Catchpole does it again. Another epic journey, in an epic car, with stunning photography (Camera crew rocks), and insightful commentary somehow presented in a simple yet cogent and emotive narrative. Props!
Ok, Henry. You may not be a fan of straight run accelerations, however, it did but a big smile on your face! Brilliant!
Possibly your best video yet. And boy is that saying summat. Sensational. Like the car.
Another incredible film by Carfection! Excellent review by Mr Catchpole again. Loved how he was smiling throughout the video and especially when he launched it to 60. The RS sounds awesome!! Would love to hear what it sounds like in the cabin in real life at 9000rpm.
Thanks for offering a different kind of video to all the rest and giving us additional insight into this incredible beast!
SOOOOOO GOOOD!!! How clever was that Deja Vu Intro!!! Loved it!
This is a masterpiece. I am not referring to the car, which also is, but to the film production. An excellent review, beautifully executed and engaging to watch
Thank you, Henry, and all the Carfection staff for making it possible.
It's Henry, it's Carfection, it's perfection! Magical indeed!
This channel is the odd yet perfect combination of Top Gear style cinematography combined with Netflix documentary styled relaxing commentary and review
Fabulous drive - thank you for taking us along for the journey. A truly delightful vicarious experience.
I set a reminder about this video from the Instagram story this morning, and it was well worth the wait. Amazing video, and what an amazing noise! How I wish I could've done the same trip...
Absolutely loved that. I know electric is supposedly the future (still not convinced its actually better for the planet) but this car is one that will be remembered forever. A bit like an old girlfriend you wished hadn't got away and think about now and again.
Once again having watched all other videos on this car, carfection nail it with the level of detail. Almost feels like Iâve driven it !
fantastic video as always, better than all the other gt4rs reviews. Also I noticed the intake audio is significantly better on this review than all the others I have watched
Fantastic vid, Henry et al, as always.
What a noise that thing makes - beautiful. Thank you gents!
Fantastic film, Henry & Carfection - thank you! Keep up the great work.
As always, superb video ! Thanks for theses images and smiles !
That induction sound with the ITBs & the mid-engine layout takes this engine's sound to a new level đ
I always absolutely enjoy your commentary - especially with Porsches, as theyâre my favourite - itâs like youâre describing it exactly as it would be going through my head if I were experiencing the test drive myself, only with a British accentâŠ..!?
Content like this is truly the pinnacle of automotive journalism. Well done to all of you đđđ
Incredible car...Fabulous review. Thank you again Henry.
Superb video... you made me go back to watch the first 18 seconds again...
Beautiful keep the videos coming!
Thank you. I watched the top gear video and it didn't have enough engine noise. Thanks for revving that engine for those of us that doesn't have the chance to hear it up close
Incredible production. Beautifully, elegantly cinematic but also fun and engaging to watch. Very happy to have seen Henry for all these years on CZcams. But sad to miss out on seeing you and the car, as I know it was being tested in Estoril (50km away from me) but never would I have thought that I'd see the highway toll and name of my town (Alverca, 50k habitants aprox) in a Carfection video.
Mesmerizing! Feel like I'm there with my friend, cruising through Europe and talking about cars. Amazing viewing experience.
Excellent stuff Henry - the mucky result of that trip reminds me of the fly impacted Aston Martin Vantage review you did a few years ago up in the Highlands. A fitting last hurrah for the final piston powered Cayman.
Best car film Iâve seen in ages . Thanks!đđŒđ
Henry god bless you and your team / the carfection channel are the best. You make me feel like a kid beaming with excitement every time I see you release a new video and one that is exciting as this. Take care. And thank you.
One of my favourite pieces of automotive car testing video. Everything beautifully linked.
I have a Touring coming in June which will replace my 718 Spyder but man, this RS is giving me some serious goose bumps. Brilliant review as ever.
Thank you Dean! âșïž
What motivated you to swap? I have a 981 Spyder and have been eyeing a 991.2 Touring, but I don't think I could give up the convertible aspect.
@@DivergentAlexif it was practical, I would keep the Spyder too. It is, hands down, the best car Iâve ever driven. Iâm sure the GT3 will be even better but I will miss convertible.
Brilliant take on this GT4 RS report! Different in perspective. Different in style. Different in information given to the viewers. This comes from a motor journalist (25 years in the business) and a hard-core Porsche fan (owning a 911 SC Strosek). I always liked your reports, but this one was out of this world! Looking forward to driving the car later this summer. Thank you, Henry!
What a wonderfull film! That is how you test a car and present it to the public. I know the car is sold out and you can't buy it and that it will live most of its days covered and hidden away in some collection somewhere waiting for appreciation as an investment but This kind of films at least give us a chance to see how it is to live with this car and drive it. Stunning Carfection! Bravo!
Fabulous review and fascinating journey and what a brilliant car. Porsche are just so smart, brilliant engineering and beautiful cars. Thank you very much Mr Catchpole!
Henry never fails to deliver regardless of the vehicle, Wonderful channel.
Fantastic. Some of the best work ever from all involved !
Absolutely awesome video, loved it.
Please test more cars like this!
My oh my, Mr. Catchpole - how you do such an excellent job at getting the GT3's engine to bark. Such a lovely sound it is. Thank you!
Cheers Henry and crew, the video the car deserved, great work.
Just like the execution of the RS from Porsche, Mr. Catchpole also exceeded my expectations to write an intelligent and so flipping awesome story around this car and his journey back to Stuttgart!
Although English is not my mother tongue Iâd always rather prefer reading and listening to Mr. Catchpole instead of all the other German reviewers that always seem to be too technical in their speech. Congrats, this was truly awesome to watch!
Lovely video, and itâs a fantastic little story in regard to why it actually started with the 981! I could watch and listen to stuff like this all day. Unless Iâm handed the keys to this masterpiece, of course.
Simply on another level with the production, writing and filming for car that's on another level. Great work! If only I had a chance to buy one.
Love the epic road drive. More enjoyable to watch then any track day
Really a fantastic review, well done ! I thoroughly enjoyed it and loved the historical references.
Thank you for another well presented and amazing review.
First review I always watch, great work Henry and team as always
As always, brilliantly written sir! Thank you Porsche for these amazing cars for enthusiasts.
Thanks for the sound track Henry. Great choice of roads. That car is very well behaved when sliding, and it is mid engine which makes the setup even more important and the control more surprising.
Great video and love the intro idea when linked with the ending. Fantastic car too.
And catchpole is up there among the best motoring journalists ever
Nice work as always Henry and Carfection, you could say: a sense of Deja Vu...
Always loved your roadtrip videos Mr Catchpole!! Reminds me of that time you drove the Bentley to Croatia during your Evo years. Still absolutely love that video
That face @6.18 says it all. Another epic carfection film. Well done Henry.
Exceptional content delivery - as always đ
The North of Spain is fabulous for driving. The Picos de Europa are spectacular! Went there in my E39 M5... Brilliant!
Epic car, awesome video & driving - Thank you!
Great video. Very entertaining and beautifully shot. No mention of quality of steering feedback.
Did anyone else notice the fuel consumption? 12.1/100km on a 500hp sports car, doing sports car driving is nothing but outstanding!
Absolutely agree!
What a fantastic review. Most of the others are around a track, to date. Henry - you are a car review genius!!
Catchpole has rightfully become one of my modern day heroes, and itâs a short list. Well done!
Awesome, Porsche. Great road trip and review, Henry.
Thank you Carfection for this fabulous review of the Porsche GT4 RS. Everything about this video is sheer perfection.......the beautiful scenery, stunning roads, a very professional review, high production standards and not forgetting the car itself!
This GT4 RS will go down in history as one of the all time greatest Porsches ever made.
I want one, NOW!
epic production. Probably the best review I've seen.
Another fantastic review! I may watch it again, now! So I can also have strange feeling od deja vu! đđ
Those gold rims look absolutely spectacular. I've always loved those gold colored rims harkening back to the black colored Lamborghini Countach with gold rims I used to see in Daytona Beach, FL in my younger days.
Great work on your video and the 718 Road..that road is what's that car is ment for..great information ..thankyou so much
Henry is just the best car reviewer on the tube! That was a proper review by a proper driver unlike the Carwow rubbish I sat through earlier. Carfection đŻ% the best motoring channel on CZcams đ
Another great video brilliant camera work fabulous car great presentation
Amazing video. Henry what an incredible review.
