  • During this webinar, Dr. Michaelis will focus on helping you understand new and emerging diagnostic procedures and prognostic models and how these tools might allow doctors to refine and tailor treatments to each specific MDS patient's needs in the future. In addition, she will discuss the good, bad, and ugly by identifying who might respond best to certain treatments, and the development of new therapies for MDS or related disorders.

December 2020: I was in remission jn 2018 after 6-1/2 years of chemo for non-Hodgkins lymphoma from Agent Orange, then was diagnosed with low-moderate MDS a month later, chronic anemia affecting my Red Blood Cells. I am on "watch and wait" and have blood tests every 3 months. I am 75 and have said "No" to a Bone Marrow Transplant. I follow a vegetarian/ almost vegan diet [since 1972], am not on blood transfusions [yet], and take several prescribed vitamin and mineral supplements, and hope not to get AML/Acute Myeloid Leukemia, but there is a 30% chance, which usually kills in 6 months. I am ready for anything and optimistic!!
