Think you know how to pick up a skateboard? WRONG! Just kidding. But, here are some other fun ways that you can do it just to either mess around or maybe impress someone. Some are actually a bit challenging so give them a try and see which ones you can do. Also, let me know if you have any other cool ways of picking up your board.

@@sarai9759 I respectfully disagree. I think what your saying is most of skateboarding is guts over technique. If you remove your fear then you will immediately see results in your skateboarding talent. Some dudes are daredevils. Those are the ones who do gnarly tricks.

It's a form of transportation.. like a bike. Seems pretty useful to me.

I’m relatively new to skateboarding and the nose pickup is my go-to. I love how it lets me go straight from skating to walking when done right.

Wall bounce pickup: Useful for when imma crash into a wall.
My favorite is the cool guy pick up and the ollie.
Did you ever see Aaron Kyro flip his board with one foot in a normal pickup position?! It looks so sick but I can't figure out how to do it!!!
You use your heel as the part that snaps down. You rock your heel back really hard and then after it snaps you flick the front of your foot to the side. If done right it flips perfectly.

The nose pick ups are really neat.
What about the kick-under-pick-up? where you just stand or walk aside your board, slide your foot under the middle of the board and lift it up like a soccer ball and catch with your hand.
Cool pick ups some are hard to do but they are cool

What about a no comply one, it feels pretty fluid.
The one I developed and got very consistent at was like the second (nose down), but rather than catch the board behind my leg I'd give it a twist so that it came right into the hand relaxed at my side trucks out.
I pressure the heel side of board near the back bolt in order to get the deck to roll over onto my back foot then I lift that foot straight up. It can be caught under arm similar to one of the pickups you did in this video.
This is the song that i think of when i think of vlskate
ik this is an old video and im just here watching it again, but for the flip up, i recommend having the under foot a bit further out. so not as close to the wheel. and also giving the board a bit more time to pivot up before bringing the bottom foot up. that gives the board more lift and it goes up higher.
i just learned hensley flip to wall bounce from this vid, fuck yea feels awesome especially at age 44

I love the nose pick up one, but when I do it I use my heel on the side of the board so it rotated one time around then I catch it behind me in mall grab
