Very interesting story about the house built by Col Cole. As you have correctly stated that unfortunately there is tradition or awareness of saving the places of heritage in Pakistan. This particular house could have been renovated and converted into a rest house for visitors or could have been turned into a place of interest, where people could have paid to either stay a night or just visit. This could have generated revenue and provided a self sustainable way to keep the place renovated.

Salman Sb, the original owner/allottee/occupant was Nawab Sir Mehr Ali Shah. He belonged to the Pir family of Jalalpur Sharif in Jehlum District (Teh Pind Dadan Khan). His grandson Nawabzada Syed Shams Haider was an MPA from PMLN in 90’s. Shams’s younger brother is Syed Qamar Haider. Both were formanites. Shams used to live in FCC Scheme, at the rear of Ch Zahoor Ilahi’s home.
